You could also go under the wheel well cover and get to it that way. A bit more tight of space but saves all that extra work

True, but honestly, not that hard to do it the grill removal way.

Is the 7mm a socket?

The 2 tops are 7mm, the single lower is a 10 mm.

Yes you need a long Phillips head screw driver to adjust a dial on the back of the housing
