Thank you for taking the time to make this video. It was really helpful ! Getting the whole unit out was tough because it may have been in since new, but it all worked out and no clips were harmed in the process. I appreciate your time!
Your the best at explaining this kind of stuff! I know NOTHING about cars...because of your videos tho I was able to replace my brake lights and today I'm attempting the headlight. Thank you for your time!
Thank you! I’ve never changed a light or anything & my low beam bulb just went out on mine yesterday! I’m going to be using this video to walk me thru changing it when I do!
Thank you for making this so easy and taking all of the worry out. Why anyone would not give you a thumbs up, is beyond me. Maybe they are insecure and jealous. You could not have made it easier.
, hey Bob I have a 2009 Equinox and I followed your video got the bolts out got the tab loose and I cannot get that unit out it seems like it's hung up on something down there and I put a screwdriver to it pushed up pushed around pulled up I don't know how to get that out without breaking something so I put them all back together again maybe you can help me out thank you
I just replaced the bulb in my headlamp BY MYSELF. Of course it took longer to find the tools I needed than it took to replace the bulb! I even watched a youtube video on shining up the plastic headlamp covers with vinegar and baking soda!
So I’m having the issue yours is having with the water collecting inside. And the bottom headlight like the white one is out now so I’m worried maybe something happened to the wires. Is that possible or do you think it’s probably just the light bulb
Thank you Bob... Im 78...but am a mechanic somewhat This plastic assys scare the hell out of me because the oldr the car the damn tabs are old, [the alum pins are corroded.. on the the rear assy to change brake lite bulbs..]so snapping them out of postion to pull off the plastic housings ..thay do not come off easily. So im thinking..what the hell am i going to break off with all the pressure needed..my advice for first timers. like me..to open carefully and peek inside when you can to see how yr doing. Then use a wide pc of plastic to presdur wedge the thing out... Especially on the rear brake lights Oh... the ARROW you wil see on the holder of the bulb...is for tightening The holder BACK IN POSITION..NOT.to removeit. You remove it .Counter clockwise... hope this helps newbies.. Also. You ALL can do this!... otherwise your going to pay up from 40 bucks sn hour to 90 bucks. Dont go there..its simple and you can do it
It is a long, round metal object that extends the reach of your socket wrench by lengthening where the socket meets the ratchet. I believe I use Craftsman. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
The Equinox owner's manual will tell you to remove the four screws and four clips that hold the top of the bumper in place. It doesn't say anything about removing the chrome piece. I did it the way the owner's manual suggested and the chrome piece actually fell off while I was doing the job. I think the way you did it is easier.
Look at all that condensation! These headlights are trash by the way. If you keep going through bulbs it's because the condensation inside the headlight bucket splashes on the hot bulb and shatters it. Does anyone know if the after markets are any better?
@@funbro1 good to hear, I eventually drilled holes in the front of my Equinox headlights, figured it's better to let it drain out since it's already in there.

Try an 8” extension.

What years is this method for? The ones I looked at have a access hole inside the fender well.

Why does the inside of the light sweat like that? Is that bad? 🤔
