Jimin and Jung Kook used to sing/harmonize together a lot in the early years, and still do at times. They also did a handful of covers (see "We Don't Talk Anymore" and "Mistletoe") and collabs with western artists (e.g., "Who" by Lauv) I think my favorite Jikook harmonies have to include the endings of "House of Cards," "The Truth Untold," and "Stay Gold." And, of course, when they harmonize on "My Universe." Absolutely my favorite vocal pairing. So, so good!

I feel this song is very much overlooked (JiKook harmony awe-shook me at the time) & was this song that got me thru the nitemare of Covid & a 1st time glimpse into who these 7 young beautiful souls were. That's why k-arms have a theory (which I support) about who this song is for. But officially for the army, written when the pandemic started. The harmonica in the background is a reference to himself. Jimin loves the ocean and is from Busan (just like Jungkook). Knowing this, I immediately thought of classic shanties. I grew up listening to shanties and it gave me such a dose of nostalgia. I cried several times. Looking at the credits, Jimin also plays guitar here. JK came to us live a few days ago and played guitar, spoilers for the song. He was very proud of it!

Can you imagine what would happen if he came out and said that he wrote a love song for someone specific? Kpop idols don't have freedom to do that. Hence--saying it's about ARMY is very safe. In the past few years, Jimin has become super private, and has put a firm boundary between himself and his fans. He certainly doesn’t hold them while they cry. Nor does he call them “baby.” Even more telling... If you look at the photos of Jimin's writing notebook that were released with the Weverse album, you can see that some of the original lyrics he wrote were more intimate and specific--and native Korean speakers have pointed out that the nebulous "you" was written as "you and you only" (당신만), not a plural "you." So yeah. We'll probably never know who originally inspired this song, but I think it's pretty clear Jimin had someone specific in mind, before it evolved into its current form.
Letter reads exactly like a love letter. It's such an amazingly beautiful song... I can't stop listening to it and I rarely if ever listen to ballads. The interview he did on AERA magazine actually points more to him writing it for Jungkook and BTS rather than only ARMY.

On my CD it is after track 6. I noticed track 6 was timed to be 10 minutes! The actual #6 song took over 3 minutes, then some minutes of absolute silence happens, then at 6:13 Jimin begins singing Letters. It’s brilliant! He is so into the special meaning of numbers. I also think it is interesting to think, secret song, sung with Jungkook (when I’ve heard Jimin say he didn’t feature anyone else on purpose because this album is his story.) Could this song be part of their story? I also saw on UA-cam Jimin’s notes for the lyrics of Letters where the form of “you” was changed from a more couple form of “you” to the “you” for anyone. I don’t read or speak Korean so have to rely on the blogger. Makes me wonder since I know symbolism is very important to Jimin and Jungkook, I wouldn’t expect for cultural and military reasons that he would answer the question of who the letter is meant for any other way no matter if it were true or not. It could fit for Jungkook or ARMY so is a safe way to answer. That's true ! This hidden song is for ARMY. When I listened it for the first time (without reading the lyric), i was just falling for it right away. The song is so beautiful. I think with death threats coming Jimin’s way from time to time and the fact that their are so many homophobic people in the world it is NAIVE to think they would feel free to confirm anything! I think the song is purposely written to be interpreted more than one way for the reasons I just listed. Through the years I have seen many instances where I see their relationship is very different from them with all the other members. As everyone says... 100% Letter to ARMY. That's why he didn't digital release and it's only on the physical version of the album. I agree that JK vocals work so well with Jimin. Actually, JK has such a range, he really works well with all the singers, which is why he is the main choice to sing guides. (Also, less harsh J sound on the pronunciation of Jungkook's name.) Oh gosh - I hope that didn't sound snarky. I don't mean it like that. It just is a little bothersome when English language speakers don't say names from other cultures correctly. So many English native speakers will get bent out of shape when you say their name incorrectly but then won't do it for other cultures. As someone who does these videos on BTS and the solo projects, you have a lot of reach and influence, so you pronouncing it appropriately will help others. Love your videos.

That's true ! This hidden song is for ARMY. When I listened it for the first time (without reading the lyric), i was just falling for it right away. The song is so beautiful. Then 2nd listening while reading the lyric made me more into it. Beautiful melody, beautiful voices, and beautiful lyric. The hidden track is the biggest reason for me to buy the album. I'm ARMY, and jimin is my bias. Previously i was thinking back and forth to buy this album or not considering i'm not rich ARMY😁 but after I knew this song, i ordered the album right away. This song got me, straight to my heart🥰 thk you for your reaction🤗

3:06 I love harmonica, I listen to multiple artists who use it (not in a honky tonk way) plus my sweet grandpa who has passed away used to play it so hearing it in this beautiful song made me so happy. It's beautiful instrument.
My physical copy hasn’t arrived yet but I heard that it wasn’t even added like “another track” exactly but on the end of the last song (the English version of like crazy “ it went to silence for about 2 minutes then this song started at exactly the time stamp of 6:13 (their debut date). And it is a letter to ARMY. Hidden so that ARMY would be the ones to find it. So freaking sweet!!!!

Yes he said it bc it could be taken that way, but it is naive to think if it is for Jungkook Jimin would feel free to say so. Too many people would be against a gay relationship. That’s why I think they may never confirm it, but haven’t heard it being denied by them either. Anyway…we can all believe whatever feels like the truth to us.

I wasn’t being funny. I think with death threats coming Jimin’s way from time to time and the fact that their are so many homophobic people in the world it is NAIVE to think they would feel free to confirm anything! I think the song is purposely written to be interpreted more than one way for the reasons I just listed. Through the years I have seen many instances where I see their relationship is very different from them with all the other members. If you don’t agree that’s fine, but you don’t have the right to tell anyone else to stop thinking what feels true to them!
I hope we can both agree that we hope all 7 members get to experience love with someone in their lifetimes whether we know about it or not. 💜🫰

As everyone says... 100% Letter to ARMY. That's why he didn't digital release and it's only on the physical version of the album. I agree that JK vocals work so well with Jimin. Actually, JK has such a range, he really works well with all the singers, which is why he is the main choice to sing guides. (Also, less harsh J sound on the pronunciation of Jungkook's name.) Oh gosh - I hope that didn't sound snarky. I don't mean it like that. It just is a little bothersome when English language speakers don't say names from other cultures correctly. So many English native speakers will get bent out of shape when you say their name incorrectly but then won't do it for other cultures. As someone who does these videos on BTS and the solo projects, you have a lot of reach and influence, so you pronouncing it appropriately will help others. Love your videos.
