I somehow forgot that she was also a half-blood. Weird how 4 of the strongest wizards and witches of that era was all half blood (one being half goblin)
Minerva McGonagall was more badass than Dumbledore, both in the movies and in the books if you noticed towards the end of the series Snape's utter shock and fear a duel against Minerva nobody even alastor Moody would cross Minerva McGonagall
I feel like there's a big plot hole here I mean, the parents of muggle born wizards obviously know about the magic world. The Durslys know. Why wouldn't Minerva's father know? And why would she have to keep it a secret from her husband, especially once they had children that would have presumably been magical?
That had to be a law that was overturned because in the time of the books the parents who had no magic of all the muggle-borns new of their magic in several witches or Wizards who married a non Witcher wizard new of their spouses magic most notably Seamus Finnegan who was one of Harry's door mates
I find this strange cause Hermione’s parents knew about the wizarding world. They went with her to Diagon Ally to shop for school supplies. We meet them briefly in book 2 when Lucius picks up Ginny’s book from a pail and tosses it back in (how she got Tom Riddle’s diary.
Yeah. I found it weird that if a witch or wizard appeared in a muggle family it was ok for that family to know about the wizarding world, but a muggle couldn’t marry into it.
@@prestonestes1388 - I also found it weird that the Minister of Magic talked to the Muggle Prime Minister. They let the magical world be known to them. So, I don’t see how this could be true. Even if they wiped the memories of the Prime Minister, they couldn’t be 100% sure, the PM didn’t tell anyone about them. Muggles know about them.
Then she worked in the ministry of magic, and her boss was always flirting with her. She started working at Hogwarts and learned Douglas died. She finally accepted to date her ancient boss and they got married. They lived in Hogsmeade. Then he died. And her brothers died. And i think her son died too. So yeah, she's badass
Even though you could tell Snape was holding back (if you noticed even rebounded one of Mcgonagals curses towards the carrows) That woman was a great duelest, would have been one of my favorite teachers had I had the honour of attending hogwarts 😂😂😂😂
@@Hebion95 she would also live far longer than him, so there may have also been a desire to avoid the pain of watching him get old faster and eventually die.
They did have to hide. It’s stupid in my opinion. I mean if a child with magic is born to normal parents then the parents find out about the wizarding world, but if a witch or wizard falls in love with a normal human they can’t use magic near them. I think that they should be able to tell them, but the spouse sworn to secrecy and if they tell then they get a memory altering charm or spell applied to them to make them forget everything about the magical world.
Also McGonagall was also a skilled member of the Gryffindor Quidditch team. After graduation, McGonagall became an employee for the Ministry of Magic in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement where she met her husband, Elphinstone Urquart. The marriage was cut short in 1985 after Elphinstone's accidental death from a poisonous Venomous Tentacula bite. After her husband's funeral, Minerva left the Hogsmeade cottage and returned to her living quarters at Hogwarts Castle. They never had children btw 😭
I'm not quite sure, but I've read that years after rejecting the muggle, Minerva finds out that he was killed by death eaters and regrets her choice because she thinks that if she had married him, she would have had a chance to save him.
Makes absolutely No sense they can’t tell… how do halfblood exists? How Do the Wizard sen away the kid without telling their partner where the kid is for real?
Wizards don’t have to keep their magic hidden from their families. That is not part a of HP Canon. Petunia knew her sister was a witch and Hermione’s parents knew she was, as well. Colin and Dennis Creevy were both Muggle-born and their parents were aware of their boys’ talents and paid for them to go to school at Hogwarts. It’s a touching idea, but not supported in canon.
Where did you find this from? Witches and wizards shared the wizarding world with their significant other all the time. For example, Hermione’s parents are both muggles and they knew everything.
So she chose career over family. This is a terrible choice. She would have been happier with her husband who loved her. Instead she had a job and no children or grandchildren to love her. Tragic.
In a way, she had many "children", her students, and they had their children, who often became her students as well, and you can't tell me that there were not at least several dozen if not hundreds of past students that loved her, almost like a mother, aunt, or grandmother, and continued to keep in touch over the years.
McGonagall is amazing and a very strong witch she is one of the best characters in my opinion
I agree ❤️

@prosperechefu6660 Professor Flitwick was half goblin. It wasn't mentioned in the movies, but was mentioned more than once in the books
@@DJDDawg2Vogts I don't think they call it half-goblin though. Flitwick didn't have a goblin parent. He had a goblin ancestor.

I don't recall it happening in the books, but Seamus says that it was a shock to his dad when he started showing magical abilities.

very good, she was right, if you see that person doesnt go on your path, its better to let it go.
I'm pretty sure wizards don't have to hide from their spouse, it would be ridiculous.
Could have been a personal choice out of fear of him leaving and outing her as a witch

I think it's only applicable to non-married couples. Seamus' dad had no idea his wife was a witch until they were married.
I did know this. One of the saddest instances in the Potter-verse.
