I feel like most gamecube Era and older rpgs are rarer is because they're some of the earliest games packed with story and gamers loved that. A game that captures the spirit of reading a fantasy novel with twists and turns just didn't happen much back then. I also believe that they where produced in shorter runs in the US end Europe because they don't have the same following that there is in Japan.
@@RetroWolf_YT they do unfortunately. Although now it doesn't matter as much because of digital downloads. Legend of dragoon on the Ps1 started my love for rpgs and its still my favorite genre today.
i had a gamecube when i was a kid! i miss those games!! i started collecting gamecube games again feels great to gain my memories!! right now i have legend of zelda twilight princess, wind waker, and 4 disc collection all complete!!! i just got mario party 6 the best mario party games of all time because the night and day theme!! luigis mansion classic!! and now i just got paper mario thousand year door for a great price!! finding gamecube games are pain and can be pricey but they are fun and something to remember:)
I bought Mario Kart Double Dash around the time of it's release, and I recently learned that my copy is a rare variant because it has a bonus demo disc. It's worth between $120 to $160. There is also another rare variant available. This one has a white caption on the bottom of the cover art which says "team up for twice the fun". I think you have that one. I've seen it in one of your older Gamecube collection video's.
I have Eternal Darkness but its scratched to heck and back (still works though). When you are a kid you dont realize the stuff you play with could be worth a lot one day.
That’s a lot of Rare Games showcased. I’ll definitely have to keep an eye on those games. Out of all the Rare Games showcased in both Videos, I have Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door and Skies of Arcadia Legends. Love both of those games especially Skies of Arcadia Legends.
@@RetroWolf_YT that’s why I’m glad I got all my rares a few years ago, because there’s absolutely no way I’d get these games at the prices they go for now. Thankfully I’m not going for the full set either, so I just have a few odds and ends I want to pick up and then I’m calling my Gamecube collection finished.

Thank you! Those games I would say are uncommon but I have a feeling in the next year or 2 they will become rare and the price will likely go way up! Ribbit King will be in my next Rare video in about a month, that game is very rare and expensive
even tho i bought Def Jam complete near mint for like 27$ YEARS ago, it’ll never have a price on it for me. it’s my second favorite game of all time so i don’t plan on selling mines ever.
And this is why emulation like dolphin and modded Wii U’s are the best option if you just want to play the game and not decide to take out your games your collecting for me atleast I like keeping my GameCube games nice and neat on a shelf and emulation to play them

I actually grew up with Spirits & Spells, although in europe it’s called Castleween, which is the original title. It was developed for the PS2 first (only in Europe) and was ported to the GameCube and then to the other regions. It has a different publisher and title in every region. The publishers were Wanadoo Edition in europe, Dreamcatcher in North America, and MTO in Japan. Kalisto Entertainment (the developers) actually went bankrupt mid-development. The game sucks though, it’s incredibly frustrating and not at all worth the money. It’s cheap in Europe, so I got my copy for less than 20 bucks here in Norway. But speaking of Europe, we got Doshin the Giant here instead of Cubivore. Doshin currently costs over 100 USD for a complete copy, but I thankfully got it years ago for like 40.

But it lead me to start working on a video about it, I’ve actually gotten in touch with two of its developers which is cool.
Demand for sure is probably the biggest factor in this list. I have most of these cib and everyone just wants Gamecube. My friend is Co-Manager of local retro store and everyone wants to buy buy buy retro games now instead of letting them go. It got so bad that he offered $250 store credit for my spare players choice copies of Pokemon Colosseum and Paper Mario and some what cib pokemon xd for some other stuff I wanted to collect from his store. Within an hour of posting to his page of these games they sold out as I guess most people don't care about players choices or cib truly. While my collection is about halfway complete(got most of the rare stuff just bunch of like $10-$40 games left), I am getting plenty of offers from locals at my retro store to buy my collection.

Yeah the main reason is that RPGs games typically have fewer copies produced in the West

Hell yeah, PS2 version is not near as rare as the GameCube version, but it is definitely uncommon
