Definitely prefer the uncut versions. They're informative and fun to watch, and even after 1000 hours in the game they keep teaching me new things. Edited ones will be good to have but still would like the uncut ones to be available to watch.

Hi Adam! I'm glad we'll be able to see this series on UA-cam. Was excited to follow this on stream but twitch vods are pretty tough to watch playthroughs and was excited for your first biotech run.
Tried to play a few hours before work, had some fun messing with some stuff, dev mode can pet you create custom genes that go over cap, so if anyone is more casual as a player or likes to do what I do and start with 1 blatantly op pawn and then see how well you can handle 500% there are some fun things there. Honestly tho, I was so spoiled by qol mods that my vanilla+dlc run felt off, not having the expanded work priorities, no haul urgently, etc etc made me want to wait for at least some mods to update, so glad I have you to watch and see the new stuff and explore it while not having to deal with my lack of qol stuff personally. So thank you again adam for more rimworld stuff :) cant wait to see all the cool stuff you come up with and try out

so, some notes from my bit of mechanitors, as well as a couple other test runs: constructoids can make masterwork things, mine made a damn masterwork shelf. that "disable exostrider corpse" thing in the scenario editor disables the fast way to get a mechlink. there's an ancient debris that has a mechanoid transponder in it. after decrypting it, an ancient mechanitor Tomb will land, with a corpse and a guard. after defeating the guard, you can remove the mechlink from the corpse to gain a mechanitor.

I always love thinking about anything said during a Rimworld playthrough out of context. "Can you harves childrens organs?" "We're gonna find out". Absolutes genius. Just think of a neighbour walking past the window and hearing that.
Children are super op i kidnapped a beggar child that was 9 and he had tier 8 when i converted and recruited him and at 10 i got to choose a perk from 6 and give him 3 burning passions and i think you can do this three times at like 7 10 and 13
I've been dabbling in Biotech myself. Lost one Mechantor run to a cougar so I'll be interested to see how you weaponise children! I also noticed on my last night's playing that raids seemed to be not as vulnerable to killboxes too, so I've been doing field defences so far. Though apparnelty forgot a chain shotgun from one of my raids, doh!
As far as I can tell, you *can* recruit unwavering, but it's a much more extended process. I enslaved one, converted them, re-imprisoned them, and then recruited them. Might be a mod bug though.
My first child arrived as a 3yo refugee, he wasn't very productive so i told him to eat some wake up. He laid on the floor unconscious for an hour then went to bed. When he woke up he immediately asked if could join the colony!
You said bigger streamers at the beginning of this video but I hope you know there isn't any bigger streamer for Rimworld than you. I've learned so much from watching these videos. You still make it look easy because losing is fun is a far more accurate description of gameplay for me. lol
I can't wait to get my paws on it now. I'm so excited to make my own xenotypes and play with babies. Mostly I wanna try to make several types of animal like people. My go to for trying out every new DLC/major update so far has been a British Imperialist colony - so I am definitely gonna make lions or bulldogs to be my redcoats for testing purposes, and then I'm also gonna make some bear people, because I love doing Soviet themed colonies and what's cooler than a Soviet Bear joke!?
Just wanted to comment on the 'corners don't do anything' statement from around the 1:00:38 mark. Something corners can do is prevent fire from getting into the building from outside. Not a huge thing, but fire got inside my base the other day while my pawns were meditating and the whole base got very hot very quickly!
I bought Biotech immediately and have been playing no mods. But there are some mods I think I wanna add back in like wall lights. Gotta have my wall lights.

Cassandra, BOTH in the new update, set fire to my base, TRUE I made it out of wood but I haven't gotten stone to replace it, as I was in the middle she found the ONE cable near my stockpile and burnt the entire lot. First one was just me being an idiot with Wooden walls and a flashfire took them out, the base and crops. I'm about to start the third play

Would much pleased to watch if you could use vsync or just synchronize those fps, thanks great content I'm inclined to subscribe 😅🙂👋🖖
What we didn't get but should have, as far as the new scenarios, was starts with guaranteed children - such as a family where you have a couple and their young child and newborn baby, or the basic starts except that you have a few extra pawns - but most of those pawns will be children and you only get a couple of adults to raise them, kind of like how a tribe gets 2 more pawns than crashlanded to make up for less starting tech and worse gear.
Things like that only slow down on first tile and then it moves back to normal speed for the rest. Still A good idea even for that one tile slowdown, though :P

These genes are incredibly diverse. I think you could even make fantasy races like elves, dwarves or orcs. Hell, some D&D play in the Rim.

I cannot stop thinking that you should leave 1 tile space between the chunks pile and your wall, since all it does is slowing your pawns
Things like that only slow down on first tile and then it moves back to normal speed for the rest. Still A good idea even for that one tile slowdown, though :P
