Hello, Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park here to tell you three things. 1) You can watch this ENTIRE series as early access here on UA-cam already as long as you are a 1$ Patron or more: patreon.com/adamvseverything 2) Dyed my hair as part of a promise for the community hitting a fundraising charity goal. As a group, we raised $85,000 for Doctors Without Borders! Here's my part in the charity event: www.twitch.tv/videos/1226726962 3) This is a CRAZY run. It gets absolutely nuts. At one point we have SO MANY CORPSES on the screen that it literally bugs out in a way I have never seen. Corpses literally start trying to slide, while dead, to the map edge and leave the map lol. There is SO. MUCH. DEATH. Likes, comments, and shares help a ton as always. -Thanks for watching!
Adam, I don't want to alarm you, but I do believe your head has caught fire. Honestly though, $85,000 is AMAZING! You rock, can't wait to see this awesome run, hoping to catch some stuff live on twitch one of these days.
Thanks! I was super happy about helping Doctors Without Borders. It was definitely worth having people come into the stream and give me crap about my hair for a few months, lol
I love the uncertainty of the runs never knowing if this is THE run or not adds excitement to each raid. I think showing failed runs is great, for what it's worth!
I think adding the failed ones on youtube makes it much closer to what you would expect from RimWorld; a story! I think it would be great to watch a video and then have no idea if you're gonna survive something or not! as it is now, we know that if it's on youtube, you survive anyway. It does take away a bit of the element of surprise. Keeps you as close to the edge of your seat as a youtube video can when we have no idea if you die right here and now! To kinda play on this and not give it away in a video, you can cut off some videos right after a major event, so that the video always ends after a major event, even if you survive so that you wouldn't be able to tell if it's victory or defeat by checking the video length.
Not all the runs I have up are wins as is :P I won't spoil which ones are losses, though. I generally don't lose if I make it to mid game (though it still happens). Most of my losses are within the first season or two just from disease or such, so I don't upload those as I don't mind them too compelling. Also, thanks for watching and commenting!
@@AdamVsEverything I also really like the restarts. It's just more true to the nature of Rimworld, and it's fun to see what weird stuff can end a colony. I agree that never knowing when it might all come crashing down (if you avoid reading the chapter titles) makes it more exciting.
@@AdamVsEverything I think those failed runs would be fun to watch. It could be some cool additional content. I learn so much from watching, keep it up!
hey adam! so full disclosure: normally when i watch your longplays, i skip ahead quite a bit, in little 10-second-double-tap increments. when all the pawns are sleeping, when you're giving some advice or showcasing a quick tutorial, when you're doing the wrapup imprison/finish off/heal/loot at the end of a raid. but this video? this video was so action packed, so compelling and nailbiting, that i watched it all the way through (over a few days, of course) without skipping damn near anything. so yeah, here's my vote for more of this. even if you lose. especially if you lose! seeing a content creator's failed attempts and bad luck just makes their eventual triumph all the more satisfying.
I'm happy that you're uploading some of your losses, Adam. Before, I would just assume that you'd managed to pull through any crisis because you had uploaded it; you had plot armor. Now, there's an element of suspense. It's fun!
I'd love to see you tackle the VOID storyteller on 500%, he can fire up to 12 events in a single day and good events become very rare. I think with vanilla it would be pretty much impossible, unless you min-max the ideology and pretty much recruit any living breathing creature including chickens to serve as meat shields and sacrifices. I love your vanilla style of play btw, I was someone who swore by ultra-modded rimworld but watching your videos made me go back and appreciate the simplicity and quirks of the unmodded game.
I've actually thought about trying that one without mods to make it easier. I'd have to allow myself to use exploits/cheese I think, though. And that's awesome, thanks for letting me know!
VOID storyteller can still be cheesed though. Iirc there was a video by The Grim Kleaper doing just that. But add the VOID faction to the mix and I'm not even sure if it's possible with vanilla min-maxing
Hi Adam! Just want to say thank you for all of your uploads! My husband and I watch your new videos every morning, but I love putting on one of your old runs while I’m feeding our new baby in the middle of the night. Keeps me entertained and you always keep it nice and calm! Big thanks 😊
damn... that double damage was scary enough that I never played igor (not even the version that warns you a bit before the raids) and damn, so far its even spookier then I though... I once had a pawn with a legendary persona mono-bow (from a mod), it dealt 45damage, and because of traits and shooting specialist + an ability from Vanilla Expanded Ancients that makes all shots target lethal spots, my pawn was literally one shotting any organic pawn from long range, basically 1 a second... this looks like you would just be fighting that with every raid, with moderate damage weapons doubled and so many raiders hitting you with them... like, 5 raiders with snipers just one shoting colonists... spooky as hell, props on you for plaything through it
Yeah, it was really really insane. I eventually had to just solely recruit tough pawns to even survive the early game. It was a real battle to get stabilized, for sure!
Just adding to the positive comments regarding uploading failed runs. I like this format of a series of failed attempts before eventual success, because we get to watch you learn and adapt to the trials instead of jumping into where you've already figured it out and we know you'll succeed.
Not all the previous uploads are wins, either, but I won't spoil which ones! I'll try to at least put a few of the more interesting losses (if there are any) at the start of a series like I did for Igor. Especially when it has a learning curve, such as other modded storytellers.
Long time no see, Adam! Haven't had time to watch any Rimworld streams as I've been playing multiplayer Civ and need to learn a lot. Got a chance to tune in today. Hope everything's been good in the meantime. Glad to see your passion for unimaginably challenging challenges hasn't abated. Great work raising 85K for Doctors... Adam, almost immediately: Let's unroof that anima tree... Me: Once bitten...
Lol, I'll never cut down another Anima tree by accident! And yep, still doing challenges in all kinds of games. Can't wait to eventually get the no-killbox runs up here on UA-cam also (what I am currently doing on stream). Hope Civ has been treating you well. Speaking of 4x, I've actually just started trying out a game called 'Humankind' which has a lot of promise.

I love the idea of uploading losses to UA-cam. My work schedule's too intense for me to watch the runs live, so I watch your UA-cam videos exclusively. Knowing that you're going to win takes some of the suspense, hence some of the fun, out of watching. Of course, since my goal is uncertainty and suspense, the conclusion of the run would ideally not be spoiled in the playlist/video title.
I'll definitely try to keep more of the interesting losses leading into the winning run going forward. Lots of losses are uninteresting as you mentioned, though. I'll try to be a bit more vague on titles as well :P
I like and learn alot from the fails, and your analyzing them and making changes. Like Randy says, It's all entertainment. Also I realize this was 2 years ago, I been busy :)
ROFL. Right when the insulting spree started on stream, my leader character started an insulting spree. Finally forced my non broken toon to arrest the leader before things got really ugly (leader herself was at 10x insulted). I love Rimworld. :D
I like this format too, with some of the failed runs leading into the actual run. Gives some good context for the mod especially in this case and feels pretty natural. I don't know what the best solution is for putting failed runs onto UA-cam, it's a pretty tough thing to do I feel like you'll always get complaints of some kind or another so I just wanted to put some positive feedback in as well :)
Definitely can't make everyone happy. I think, in the future, I will do relatively similar to this. May change it again at some point of course, though.
straight up my new slogan is "not with that attitude" and ima blame u for it. now i have an elaborate saying for "I WILL DO EVERYTHING AND NOBODY CAN STOP MEEEE!!!"
I actually did that on my first attempt. I didn't know Igor wouldn't send a raid ever when you only have one colonist. So, I traveled to the ship and did the entire ship launch event with no raids lol
Just some feedback, I think the failed run playlist is a great idea. I feel like I learn as much, if not more, from failures than success. But some people may want to only watch successful runs. Plus it would give me more to watch. I very rarely am able to watch on Twitch.
Yeah, it is a tough decision. I know many don't want spoilers in either direction. I think moving forward I will just do similarly to how this one is set up.
That was intense! Please share more failed runs. Knowing your current run is the successful try of many does take a little of the suspense. Great content otherwise! Great fun!
Not all the previously uploaded runs are wins, either. But I won't spoil which ones. Generally if I make it to mid or late game I end up winning. So most of my losses are like season 1 double disease + manhunter or some silliness. Not sure if seeing that 10 times would be interesting or not :P Igor provided a pretty cool way to show some more interesting early losses, though!
Yeah, I always thought that was one of the strangest breakdowns. Also 'I am so angry at seeing all these corpses! That's it, I'm digging up my dead room mate!'
Usually when I lose it is early game and boring. Not sure someone wanted to watch my naked pawn die of plague+food poisoning three times in a row during a previous challenge, for instance. :P But also, there are some long playthroughs on here that do end in losses. I won't spoil which ones, though.
@@AdamVsEverything I saw some of these on Stream so I might actually know xD As for wanting to See. Well. I do think that on UA-cam there is actually less People that are Interested. This is just my hunch of course. But I personally started caring about the Failed Runs only after watching your Streams. Because then I actually wanted to see what I missed before the Runs :)
Just reformed to the cannibalism meme for the first time and wanted to try out the cannibal feast but it isn't showing up anywhere to craft it. I have 2 different cannibal feasts as events not set to a specific date. Building the cannibal platter should show up under the misc tab, but it isn't there. Is it bugged or am I missing something obvious? I have a few QoL mods but nothing that should have any effect on this. I have plenty of human meat and unbutchered corpses
I've never gotten the beaver event and he got it twice in two hours. I'm convinced only epic youtubers are attacked by beavers because that's the only time I've seen it
This was from last December. Maybe you weren't around during it or such. I think I only did this for about 2 weeks. Either way, thanks for watching now!
Honestly I don't watch runs based off if you win or not, seeing failed runs mixed in with winning runs would be cool, as you said before rimworld is more about telling a story and not every story has a good ending ;).
For sure. The only 'problem' is that 99% of the runs I lose are from disease on day 2 or such lol. If there are ever any decent losses or learning curves or what not I definitely plan on including them in the future (like I did with this format). I will say that one of the long runs on the channel ends in a loss as well, but I won't spoil which one :P
The only way to watch these no pause rimworld episodes as a viewer is for us not to be able to pause the video.... ....oh man i gotta pee but when do i go
Adam calls it how it is, to this day I get absolutely fkn livid watching a colonist on fire, proceed to run into more fire or into the enemy. Or straight out the door to the rest of the raid. Maybe that’s how it supposed to be but I just think it’s shitty pathing
I have a stupid question. I started playing this week so that might be the reason of my silly thinking. On your second run when you got raided twice, wouldn't it be worth maybe sacrificing a colonist by opening the ancient danger and letting the raiders fight it off?
Considering how often you get raids on this map... I think I would quickly get to self-sustaining, and place double walls at the short bit with no growing soil. Then a regular, but strong wall in the sand around that ruin you disabled, to that 4 stone square area just above the double wall. A tiny walkway cut through the mountain to that area, so you can plant or have animals there. I like the way you did the house on with the 5 small rooms. Then, I would just wait for the ancient breach and close the door on the outer wall and build a wall on the inner wall. After that, wait. See how many raids it takes to destroy the zncient threat. Problem solved, raids destroyed, and a new area to use with your base afterwards.

Yeah, I always thought that was one of the strangest breakdowns.
Also 'I am so angry at seeing all these corpses! That's it, I'm digging up my dead room mate!'
The start of this is promising:
"Just the introductory raid."
"And another raid."
"What! We're dead."
Great vid, cant wait to start
It's a crazy one, hope you enjoy!
very intense im looking foward to more!
Should be able to get an episode out every few days. Thanks for watching!
IGOR!
Thanks Adam
Thanks for watching!
Well. Its also Interesting to See the Failed Runs on UA-cam for a Change xD
Usually when I lose it is early game and boring. Not sure someone wanted to watch my naked pawn die of plague+food poisoning three times in a row during a previous challenge, for instance. :P
But also, there are some long playthroughs on here that do end in losses. I won't spoil which ones, though.
@@AdamVsEverything I saw some of these on Stream so I might actually know xD
As for wanting to See.
Well. I do think that on UA-cam there is actually less People that are Interested.
This is just my hunch of course. But I personally started caring about the Failed Runs only after watching your Streams.
Because then I actually wanted to see what I missed before the Runs :)
Nothing like turning visitors into human jerky! (~.~):b Rimworld ftw.
Ah, the long pork. Thanks for watching!
Good luck. This looks super hard.
Thanks, Igor is crazy.
I wonder if he will try Winston waves
Eventually! It didn't exist yet when I did this playthrough.
Gonna be honest, this is the only time it makes sense to have a shooting specialist early game. Supremacy would have been awesome for that reason.
I could see you doing this run but with the zombie mod as well. all the raids, then the zombie hordes. lol
We'd never have time to do anything other than fight and clean, lol. Would be interesting, though.
Rimworld for all and may all be merry and dont forget to eat with a table
How did you get your hair so bright red?! It looks great.
Bleached it until it was basically white first. :P Thanks!
The platter needs to be a part of your ideology, though I don't remember under what exactly off the top of my head
I love this! Blah blah blah. Algorithm. More rimworld Content Please Adam.
Just watch this one at half speed and it'll give you 16 hours of content!
I've never gotten the beaver event and he got it twice in two hours. I'm convinced only epic youtubers are attacked by beavers because that's the only time I've seen it
These days it can only happen on a handful of maps. Mostly low wood maps like Tundra and Desert.
BASED playthrought
🙏
Oh hell yeah
It finally processed! Thanks for watching.
@@AdamVsEverything knew it was a matter of time, keen as a mung bean!
how i missed this on stream? or just don't remember it ? lets watch
This was from last December. Maybe you weren't around during it or such. I think I only did this for about 2 weeks. Either way, thanks for watching now!
1:19:58 oh crap she hit him directly to the liver side. damn rimworld so true it can happen irl xD
Heh was looking forward to one without cannibalism and corpse stuff, but this seems pretty crazy. Will be an interesting watch
The next run after this one, IIRC, is the 'Good Guy Run' where I have to help everyone and not do any evil stuff :P
I will say that one of the long runs on the channel ends in a loss as well, but I won't spoil which one :P
now that I think about it, wouldnt your usual multi colony strategy be hell if both of them get raided every 2-3 days with 500% ?
Yep! Can't imagine dealing with all that on no pause lol
Hype!
Thanks for watching!
The only way to watch these no pause rimworld episodes as a viewer is for us not to be able to pause the video....
....oh man i gotta pee but when do i go
Do what I do and run quickly! :P
Hey Adam. You're in between new runs, but you have plenty of old content for me to watch.
Dang isn't it hilarious how "IGOR" as a seed generated smth looking like Crimea?
i had this social fight death even without this damage multiplier
Yeah, it is rare but definitely happens. I had one a long while back where the person literally decapitated the other :(
Ha! I went through the comments and nobody did the joke yet:
Okay mom, only one more video before sleep!
Lol. Hope it works :P
It is always a risk. If I open it and it is a centipede + another couple mechs that all deal double damage and come after us we're all dead anyway :P
I feel bad pausing the video. It feels like I'm cheating.
Lol. I'm surprised you are the first to ever say that here on UA-cam :P
This certainly is a comment
And this is a response
Today I will attempt to iron my clothes while watching. Worst case I am well entertained but have wrinkly clothes :^) or charred ones, haha
Lol, I hope it went well :P Thanks for watching!
NiCe!
