I'm 75 years old, and I believe that Band-Maid is one of the most incredibly talented rock and roll groups on this planet (I have seen quite a few rock bands, from the iconic to no-names). I have been fortunate to attend two of their live concerts and they were two of the best live performances I have witnessed in my life. If you ever get a chance to attend one of those concerts, make it an obsession to get to it.
Go to a Band-Maid concert and the audience is exactly what you're hearing...nothing is added in...they are simply one of THE BEST live bands on the planet. Do whatever you can to see them live.
Akane is the happiest maniac drummer in world. No wonder Jimmy Page who saw her in concert asked to meet the band, and praised Akane saying she was the most talented drummer he seen in years. And this is a guy who worked John Bonham.
Yeah, I was going to say about the crowd is normally I'd agree with her "sus" comment, but Maidiacs are so dialed in, that almost everyone knows exactly where to stop.
It's standard practice when recording for a DVD to have mic(s) designed to pick up ambient noise. The line from this can easily be turned up and down during different parts of the finished release. The crowd noise is certainly real, but needn't be at a constant level in the mix, so it's possible that a few fans kept chanting but we don't hear them for that reason.
You can’t buy tickets to their concerts just randomly..Usually every single concert is sold-out and ticket sales goes from fan Club-sites first so basicly 99,99% of audience are Die hard-fans who know what happening on stage so for example the transition from drum solo to guitar solo is Well know and those chants are real and timed perfectly by audience 🤘
I saw them in North Carolina. As an audience member at an Okiyuji, you feel a responsibility to give the Maids as much as they give you. I knew when to “Hey! Hey! Hey!” and when to clap 👏🏽 in sync…and Saiki will give her underhand swoops when she wants more… Listen to more lives and you’ll hear the “hey” chants all the time. My guess is they turned the crowd mix down for certain moments in post. “Domination” is another legendary live performance. “Hellos” are required and delivered. On your own free time, please check out any of the fan cams from when the Maids went to Mexico. “Don’t you tell ME” is the song. No reaction request, just take a minute or two on the side. Saiki is essentially drowned out during the song by the crowd singing the lyrics. ❤
Been a rocker since the early 70's. I grew up with the greatest music ever. The Maids are at the top of my list. Talent, talent, talent. My favorite Band Maid song is the one I'm listening to at the time.
Band-Maid plays Freedom really often and the fans are super familiar with this song. Fan favorite and super high energy live. You can watch any other official video or live video - you can't miss.
Kanami, lead guitar, began piano lessons at 3yo, she pick up the guitar in high school. She wanted to be Cool. Akane, bass, and Akane, drums are alumni of the The Tokyo School of Music. The school is a 2 year vocational school for musicians looking to work in the Japanese music industry. Miku, guitar, vocals and Saiki, vocal had both vocal and dance training. MIKU Kobato is founder of the band and conceived the maid concept. Saiki was tricked into joining the band, as the band felt a stronger primary singer. Miku's sensi for the guitar is Kanami. The band was founded in 2013 and they have been touring the US and Europe since 2016. They compose all of their songs with total control and they are now in the process of founding their own management company.
When I saw this, I couldn't click on it fast enough, the best rock band playing today, Band-Maid, with over 100 great songs all bangers no bombs, to say they are talented is an understatement and to say that they love what they do is beyond obvious, this band should be a house hold name by now, they are so good.
The fans for this band are legit in the sing along part. Also 99% of people there are real fans because in Japan to go to their shows you have to enter a lottery system to be able to buy tickets mostly. So you have to really want to go to the show.
Having seen this band 4 times in California and last Monday and Tuesday here in Tokyo l can say you need not be suspicious. The crowd knows every single nuance and beat and they respond just as you hear. Of course there is post production but what you see is what you get. The live sounds every bit as good as studio with many different embellishments like reworked intros and extended solos and such from the original recordings. They are in a class by themselves. The lead guitarist has just received a signature series PRS guitar that was presented to Kanami by Paul Reed Smith himself. All the members now have signature series guitars. MiSA the Black Smoker Bass, rhythm guitarist her Flappy Pigeon Zemiatus and now the lead guitarist PRS. The drummer has signature series drumsticks and even Saiki a special microphone 🎤.
Thank you for your reaction it was really fun to watch😀 and Congratulations 😎 you have found Band Maid. An amazing rock band with a great variations in their songs. Sone suggestions of great songs: Hate(live) Puzzle(live or video) Morratorium(live) Thrill(their very first music video) Daydreaming(video) Yeah i can go on for a long time hete. They have so many fantastic songs😁
Us Madiacs typically know when to sing & not :)... I have seen them live twice and those are my favorite shows ever! Love Band-Maid, please check out more... you won't be disappointed. Thanks for sharing your reaction.
I was checking your channel if you've watched the band Lovebites yet as their lead vocalist Asami has that operatic voice and Nightwish with their lead vocalist Floor Jansen. And I noticed that you've watched this video already 3 years ago, lol. This and Manners is what you've watched already. I'm thinking maybe watch Band-Maid's official live video of Wonderland. Wonderland is a song for vocalists. Even though Saiki isn't perfect, she is absolutely the perfect lead vocalist for Band-Maid and its type of sound.
It's a live recording but is professionally produced with individual feeds, so the audio engineer mixed down the crowd feed and then pumps it back up as it's appropriate for the song. As matter of fact at the end of the solo, you can hear some of the individual fans be slightly off the beat. You can find a straight phone recording of them in the US and, quality aside, the crowds are on point.
Nothing fake or phoney about the Maids, the crowd, or their fans, Maggie. Other than a few instrumental or effects backing tracks, all the live vids are just as you hear them. You need to see them live for yourself. 🤘😉👍
I love that drummer too! And especially how the light show accompanies her. Good video! And I loved seeing you enjoy it. But of course Maggie's critical faculties are always on alert no matter of how she is into the music. Like NO audience sounds at that point? 🤣
Hi from France: There is no post production of the crowd in Band Maid's live videos. But the crowd is an attentive, participatory audience and forms an "active listening" audience. Something Robert Fripp always said was too often lacking in the rock world audience. And Band Maid converted their audience into an "active listening" crowd, hence this curious impression when watching their concerts on DVD... Enjoy Maidiacs!
Each instrument and vocal mic is recorded to its own track. These will not noticably pick up the audience. The crowd noise is recorded on a separate mic and recorded to its own track as well. This is pretty standard for a professional recording of a rock concert. The reason the crowd noise cuts off completely is because they chose not to have it featured prominently in the mix, except for certain moments to maintain the live feel. Every part of this video is the real deal. Nothing sus when you understand the recording process.
I got two possible explanations for that crowd: 1, in order to even hear the crowd they'd have to have mics pointing at them - I've seen a ton of live performances where the singer stops and lets the crowd sing, and you can't hear them at all over the band - So whoever is mixing the audio is simply fading the audience in and out at the right times. 2, I've also seen a lot of live Japanese performances... and those audiences turn up prepared!! If there are dance parts that know all the moves, and bands will have special parts for crowd participation, and the crowd knows every line. And then the same band goes to somewhere else in the world and it's the mess you'd expect it to be. And 3, it's a can crowd sound. I'd be willing to bet it's a mix of 1 and 2, but I wouldn't be surprised or offended if it's 3.
This is an outro for an anime. You still really really need to check out Romanticide by Nightwish a really metal song for them. The finish is an amazing moment for Floor.
As was said already, the crowd has their own mics for recording. But just watch the crowd and tell me their not singing along and cheering. No need to add in the crowd post production.
One thing Miku does not lack is confidence. Saw them live twice last year and despite her very limited English that does not stop her from entertaining the crowd.
Those were in fact the crowd, and they do not all come at the exact time but gradually get louder and in sync once the guitar solo starts and they are in fact NOT added after, why would you add a crowd noise after if you literally have a live recording with the crowd in it
Lol you haven't been to japan. they are like that live...social conformity. Hope you can go to a Band-Maid show there and experience the epic performance.
ya the aud was cut in production After all to get it that good u hac to have a mike somewhere doing just Aud. Or today who knows how many. Im still working with a man using the same fender he was when I met him 46 yr ago and i have just plug my mike in Ya that is all we use
Sus?? Crowd mic up, crowd mic down for the singing, basic post-production mixing really...also, nearly everyone at a Band Maid gig knows exactly what's going on!

I heard this song live in Houston, and we knew when to cheer and yell and when to shut up. Trust me, almost EVERYONE there knew the Ladies.
I saw them live in Seattle. They are one of the best bands, and very skilled musicians. Love Band-Maid.
*!BAND MAID!*
The crowd is legit, and will chant on a dime as well...
The band is infectious and their timing flows into the crowd 😍😍😍

This is a re-upload. I saw this same reaction over a year ago.
A good portion of the fans are musicians, this is why the audience cheers are on point and in beat
Band Maid! 🍺😁🤘🏻🕊️
The fans for this band are legit in the sing along part. Also 99% of people there are real fans because in Japan to go to their shows you have to enter a lottery system to be able to buy tickets mostly. So you have to really want to go to the show.
I've been making music for money since 1966...and they are the tightest live band I have ever heard.
Having seen this band 4 times in California and last Monday and Tuesday here in Tokyo l can say you need not be suspicious. The crowd knows Miku is going to sing that part and drops out to listen...BM crowds are very well coordinated 🙂
No dubs on the crowd. The Japanese fans know exactly what they're doing. 😎
Us Madiacs typically know when to sing & not :)... I have seen them live twice and those are my favorite shows ever! Love Band-Maid, please check out more... you won't be disappointed. Thanks for sharing your reaction.
The drummer Akane is one of the very best in the business.
I was checking your channel if you've watched the band Lovebites yet as their lead vocalist Asami has that operatic voice and Nightwish with their lead vocalist Floor Jansen. This is from a DVD. The crowd probably have their own mic and are mixed individually.
Wholeheartedly Agreed.
But we're the hands pumping in time to the chants sus?
Or perhaps maybe the crowd knew the assignment! 🤔🤟
I like this a lot, vocals so good. That drummer was awesome, they all played great. Brat tat ta tat love that snare.
Try DOMINATION, PLAY,MORATORIUM and you'll see how legit the Maidiac audience is. Oh and welcome to BAND-MAID.
It's a live recording but is professionally produced with individual feeds, so the audio engineer mixed down the crowd feed and then pumps it back up as it's appropriate for the song. I've seen them twice (so far) live....they are the legit deal. Akane Hirose is a top-tier drummer.
Nothing fake or phoney about the Maids, the crowd, or their fans, Maggie. Other than a few instrumental or effects backing tracks, all the live vids are just as you hear them. You need to see them live for yourself. 🤘😉👍
Most fun I've had in a while. Love this band. Thank You.

You'd be surprised about the audience Ive been there. Just watch live videos like Domination, Play, or Endless Story.

I'm sure I have watched this reaction years ago? Is this a re-upload?
Yes, it’s a reupload. It’s mentioned in the video description.

Band Maid🎀, puh-leeze, what've THEY got? Uhmm..., I know, TALENT!!!!😹Maidiac 4 Life!!!
Very valid question on the crowd .....These ladies can stop on a dime and the crowd control by the ladies is Jedi level....lol
This is an outro for an anime. You still really really need to check out Romanticide by Nightwish a really metal song for them. The finish is an amazing moment for Floor.
Though this isn't one of their anime theme songs commissions they have many of them. THey also appear in anime for in 'Unleash'.
As was said already, the crowd has their own mics for recording. But just watch the crowd and tell me their not singing along and cheering. No need to add in the crowd post production.
PS. Most of this crowd is going to know this song very well.
Need to check out another female metal band Lovebites and start with Set the world on fire the live version. You won’t be disappointed
One thing Miku does not lack is confidence. Saw them live twice last year and despite her very limited English that does not stop her from entertaining the crowd.
Best rock band on the planet. Watch MORATORIUM live. Japanese audiences are much different than western audiences.
🤘🤘🤘❤💛💙
👍❤️❤️
It is appropriate that you inserted the Marty McFly scene.
TRY LOVEBITES EPILOGUE DIAR MAGGIE
Those were in fact the crowd, and they do not all come at the exact time but gradually get louder and in sync once the guitar solo starts and they are in fact NOT added after, why would you add a crowd noise after if you literally have a live recording with the crowd in it
Japanese crowds are different.
They will definitely go silent at the appropriate time.
Lol you haven't been to japan. they are like that live...social conformity. Hope you can go to a Band-Maid show there and experience the epic performance.
Akane. Smiling the whole time while destroying her drum kit...❤️
No!! lmao
Can't watch with the reactor acting like a child. I'm out of here. Sorry.
