really enjoyed that. as I know you like a lot of rap. he's got a load but I like " Murderer and animal flow" these 2 are fire lyrics, and his money game series of videos, part 1,2,3. enjoy the ride
I've noticed that reactors in the UK have taken much longer to take notice of this tornado of talent in our own shores. Im glad to see that changing, as he has already won international awards recently and needs to be recognised by more people in this part of the world. His fanbase is VERY protective and i think you'll find your subs increasing substantially now.
He did make the No 1 album in Oct 23 In the UK. Fan base is huge, especially musicians. Live, one takes. He uses the acoustics of his surroundings to emphasise the sound and mood of what he's playing. Bardcore, the ultimate storyteller 😊 thanks for reacting.
At some point I would really recommend you covering his short speech on achieving 1 million subscribers and defining success in his terms. Great insight into what motivates him. Love the way the Tales signal violence and victimhood repeated in two generations (or arguably three) and throw light on what tragedies can ensue when siblings are cut adrift. And the acting…Hollywood, or Netflix, give this guy some airtime!!
I freaking love that performance for the fact that the lead up to his performance walk you through the literal streets that they filmed on as well as having paid actors/scenes to truly immerse yourself within the story. Absolute FREAKING GENIUS of an artist concept
The juxtaposition of listening to his beautiful melody and singing while telling this tragic story is beautifully daunting. I can’t stop listening to these songs.
A lot of Ren's music really displays masterful understanding of the proper use of juxtaposition. The lyrics oftentimes spar with the lyrics to create beauty and hope out of darkness and the depths of despair.
You are fast becoming one of my favourite Ren reactors! Really looking forward to you discovering his catalogue. It's extensive, you'll never know what you're going to get, and I think you'll love it all. This is going to be fun!! 🖤
Enjoyed your reaction, the reveal at the end is always mind blowing! You're right, Ren is a generational talent and yes the 3 songs are live. I watched an interview whereby with Violet's Tale, they had to do several takes and on the final one, the heaven's opened up with a deluge, timed perfectly at the "a girl named Jenny" bit, however the overall best quality take was the one we have all seen. I think I mentioned in your Sick Boi reaction some good directions to go in the rabbit hole, including Money Game trilogy. You don't have to do them all together but I would recommend reacting to them in order, worth noting MG2 the full version is the lyric video, necessitated because done during lock down!
I'm willing to bet that by then, the people of Brighton knew Ren, and knew his antics, and were used to his shenanigans.🤣 Also, love your reactions. Got a sub from me, big love!
The tales are a masterpiece, all one take, just one guy and a guitar, I’ve have a playlist on my YT with my theories about the main characters and the many Easter Eggs in the videos
I really like your reactions.😊 I see Ren is a visionary. He's different. If you want hip hop, Genesis & The Hunger are a good way to start. Chalk Outlines live version if you want a sing song. Money Game PT. 1 when you're ready for different, like a stage play. Pt. 2 is a lyric video (the one with the most views the other versions are incomplete and acapela don't do those) and Part 3 is just Epic.
You have an amazing intuition for music! It is apparent by your reactions , in a good way:) and I would love to see more of your input in words about the musical aspects of the video. Dont be shy your reactions are amazing:)
So.... You're going darker way of Ren now... On your level, I recommend: - "Money Game (Official Music Video)", if you want go deeper, you are ready imho -> one-take, raw, theatrical, guitar, very deep/important (and this is the first part of three, amazing!) - "Animal Flow (Official Music Video)" -> staying deep, quite different, one-take amazing video, bass'n'drums rap, great concepts/references or... you can always go light way: - "Losing it (FISHER Rap Version)" -> rap, funny, lots of references, quite smart Do you see how they operate the camera? Do you see how Ren uses different space echoes? Do you understand time rewinding/forwarding? Loving breaking the 4th wall? Loving "A Clockwork Orange" Kubrick's moment @25:05 I'm sure you do! Clever, isn't it? 😃 Wicked! 😋 Great reaction, girl! Same vibes! ❤
@@naturalluvuk I'd love to watch your Money Game reaction for sure. It hits deeply. It is for sure one of the most important and most serious Ren's art. Ren said he was disappointed that many people did not catch the meaning of it, so pay attention, please. Greets!
What's great about this performance is after you see it for the first time, your mind keeps working overtime and making all the connections about generational violence, trauma and similarities between Jenny/Violet & Screech/Stevie and then Violets own parents and you realise just how phenomenal this really is.
Ren is, at heart, a busker. If you want to catch him live, check out any song by The Big Push (his band) or Ren and Sam busking (Blind Eyed is amazing). You could also check out Ren and Chinchilla duetting as they have one that is live.
Ren was the lead member of a band called The Big Push... they busked a ton from 2020-2022 and UA-cam has a crazy collection of those busking videos too. Just amazing
Really enjoying your reactions and look forward to the next one. I would recommend Chalk outlines ( Live version ) with Chinchilla very special indeed.
He does a perfirmance on a temporary stage in that same parking lot where Screeches tale happens, with a live crowd. With a 360⁰ camera. It's on his page. I woukd fly anywhere to see him perform live. Chalk Otlines live with Chinchilla? Hopefully he will be able to perform again later this year when his treatments are done. He was back in bed last week with extreme low blood pressure. Drs. trying to figure it out.
There is also a non 360 video of that same performance. The amazing thing is they set up all the alley ways to the "stage" with parts of the trilogy. His fans new the tales by then but had to traverse some of the Samy allies he filmed in to get to that stage.
It is live, each tale is one take too. REN loves his live one takes and we love him for it. No one is doing what REN does, he is a unique master of his art.
1 thing to be aware of with Ren. His songs rage from silly fun to really dark as though that dark side from Hi Ren is doing it. I've seen some reactors jarred when he goes full on dark Just for you, not a reaction watch The tale of Jenny and Screech 360. People may already have mentioned this...re concerts...he was in a superb band called The Big Push....they did some phenominal busking performances and checking some of these out will give you a very good idea of what he is like in a live performance. Brilliantly done your commentary was so interesting and you even made me laugh😂 and I was not expecting that in these Tales Have been watching these for a year now (I think I need an intervention!) One of the best reactions for sure
Ren tells the stories and the filming of the stories are all done so well i found myself looking for the bodies laying on the ground. The saddest thing about this is the fact each of these things are happening in every country at this very moment and the cycle continues
A very enjoyable reaction, and a nice change of pace to stumble upon a fellow soul from the UK. When you said something close to "this is so wicked", my heart gave a little flutter. It's been too long since I've heard anyone refer to something as "wicked" in that way. It was like I've been visiting America (all the reactors) for half a year, and I get back from over seas, I'm driving late at night down roads so familiar to me. I feel like I'm home. Just a simple thing, but very warming. ❤ You also mentioned "freestyle", as a way to express your thoughts on the whole filming/camera/recording vibe. Not quite the right term to use, but I fully understood where you were coming from. I see you enjoy rap, Hip-Hop, and the many localised derivations. So have you checked out Harry Mack? He is the G.O.A.T. of freestyle, and also happens to be an incredibly positive and nice guy. Amazing well of content to explore, if you haven't already. He made me believe in Hip-Hop again, after I was done with the bland BS. Subscribed.
hello dear!! nice to meet you and tell you how much i enjoyed your reaction to our man ren, the bard!! i love to watch him stick his fingers in peoples heads and f'em up-what fun!!!!!!! kathleen bts renegade
In other reactions they said that he did this through a few times and in one of the takes someone shouted out of a window to “shut the f up” lol. Legend
First off great 3 piece story by Ren I never get tired listening too it. Great review. I noticed you use your mouse to back track in the video. You can use your space bar to pause and arrow keys to move back in increments. I'm sure you knew that just saying seeing the mouse threw me off :D
The mouse made her accidentally skip the introduction to Stevie after her sunlight break. The sudden break in story visibly threw her off too. Spacebar and left arrow key are the way to go.
Hey Renegades! We have another one! :D Happy to jump on this train on it's third stop of journey into the endlessly creative mind of Ren. He IS ahead of time. :) BTW he made series of stories on IG from Screech's perspective at the time before this tragic event, Really I thought he was abusing his GF on camera! Then I caught it and it blew my mind. And I've found out why Patrick was not home. :D :D :D Welcome on board! :)
IMHO the "Tale of Jenny and Screech and Violet's Tale" is a Three Act Shakespearian Tragedy, in the style of the wondering minstrel bard. Ren has self identified his music as bard core, so that is confirmed. This is an ancient style of music; that goes right back through the wondering minstrel bards of the middle ages. The works of Chaucer sung in the Wife of Bath's ale house. And back to the Dark Ages of Anglo Saxon epic poetry of Beowulf, on through the Greek Homeric tales of The Iliad and The Odyssey and the beginning of the Choir. As Ren shows the music acts in part as interlude/intro as well as melodic emphasis and sound effects for the story. This form of story telling probably goes all the way back to Ugg twanging his Bow to woo the Chiefs Daughter. Or to complain about the Chief stealing the meat from his hunt, at the hut of the local Widow Ale Wife, where he and others would congregate to let off steam and tell tales of epic hunts. And the perhaps to draw on the local cave walls the tale of their hunt while singing acting and dancing out their day. And even to this day you see the graffiti on the walls as Ren acts out and performs "The Tales." As a sound engineer I spotted Ren's use of locational reverb as found sound. Something a stone age performer shaman would recognise and that has been shown to have occurred in ancient megalithic architecture and among the few still existing hunter gatherer societies that are studied by anthropologists today. They also got lucky with the Seagulls in part of the song which then was deliberately left in and emphasized in the mix. I think that what was done in the tales calls to that ancient genetic heritage we all have. All of it indicates the intellectual level of the performance production in this piece that makes it true art.
You will love Humble ~ Ren ft. Eden Nash If you love his reggae/Ska style. One of my favourites, and it's not easy to actually say which is a favourite... too many to pick from! He's ace, ain't he mate! 🫶🏴
Just writing this before you watch the final part, as it breaks me every time and I can't type. You will love his other trilogy "The Money Game". 3 lessons about the money game and our relationship with it as a species. There will be props and plenty more acting to get your teeth into. Also worth noting that they are also 1-takes and recorded live.
Fantastic reaction...if you want a fun one to do it's a Fat boy slim retake right here right now, some more fun stuff is love music 1,2,3,4 ..... welcome to the Ren rollercoaster enjoy your journey.... Harry Mack does a tribute to Ren it's on Ren's other UA-cam channel called ren makes stuff it's amazing anyhoo see you for the next ✌️
In his older videos, such as these 3 you can actually see mistakes he does... in later ones they hide em... which is not bad, all bands do it,, just like even metallica used autotune.. but older videos are more coerce, they still do a bit of mixing to get rid of outside but on these songs you can hear (&see) they werent there yet.. And to me, that "sings" honesty in voice
Here is how I interpret this song after listening to it a bunch of times and also watching other reactors reacting. Back in 2005* Violet was pregnant, and her boyfriend Stevie beat her, and she wound up in the hospital clinging to life and she was found to be pregnant. Violet begged the doctor to keep her baby alive indicating that she did not know she had twins. Probably with her abuse hadn't even seen a Doctor. Violet unfortunately passes away and her twin babies Jenny and Screech are separated and raised by different families. We don't know how good or bad they were raised but they both wound up in very bad situations. Jenny was a prostitute** at only 14 years old and Screech was a thief also at only 14 yrs old. That fateful night when they crossed pass neither of them knew the other existed. Screech winds up killing his own twin sister then he gets gunned down by the police and both wind up dying the same night only 1 street apart. I wouldn't be surprised if the hospital where Violet died was also nearby. * In 2005 Violet gives birth to twns and dies then fast forward to 2019 (year that this song was released) and Jenny and Screech are both 14 yrs old. **Yes Jenny was a prostitute....the following lines in the song indicate that... "Cause she'd walked it about a thousand times before" showing that she walked up and down so many times plus it was late at night she was "dragging her feet" indicates she has been on her feet for hours at night. "but stayed as still as a statue in high heel shoes" she was wearing high heels late at night walking the streets ...."I'll slice the rosy off your cheeks " indicted she had heavy make-up on enough to slice off (so to speak) combine all those hints together walking late at night the same streets so many times wearing high heels and lots of make-up on points to her being a prostitute.... IMO
Yeah, this one blew my mind. It was a condensed Romeo and Juliet. The Tragety. No, it is actually unique. It's deffenitely a tragety but It's Violet, Jenny and Screech.

You also mentioned "freestyle", as a way to express your thoughts on the whole filming/camera/recording vibe.

Cymru gwlad y beirdd ❤
New sub. Wonderful reaction!
Thank you 🥰
you should do Ren seven sins lyric video
First off great 3 piece story by Ren I never get tired listening too it. Great review. I noticed you use your mouse to back track in the video. You can use your space bar to pause and arrow keys to move back in increments. I'm sure you knew that just saying seeing the mouse threw me off :D
The mouse made her accidentally skip the introduction to Stevie after her sunlight break. The sudden break in story visibly threw her off too.
Spacebar and left arrow key are the way to go.
What was Jenny doing out late in high heels at 14 Yrs old.
Omg 🤯 nooooo 😫🤣
Thank you, I absolutely love you. Mate. You are wonderful.
Thank you ☺️
Hugely Enjoyable reaction! Well done
these are all live one takes
Great reaction. Subscribing for more Ren (and his band The Big Push). ❤
Thanks for subbing! 🥰
Hey Renegades! We have another one! :D
Happy to jump on this train on it's third stop of journey into the endlessly creative mind of Ren. He IS ahead of time. :)
BTW he made series of stories on IG from Screech's perspective at the time before this tragic event, Really I thought he was abusing his GF on camera! Then I caught it and it blew my mind. And I've found out why Patrick was not home. :D :D :D
Welcome on board! :)
Thank you ☺️
IMHO the "Tale of Jenny and Screech and Violet's Tale" is a Three Act Shakespearian Tragedy, in the style of the wondering minstrel bard.
And even to this day you see the graffiti on the walls as Ren acts out and performs "The Tales."
As a sound engineer I spotted Ren's use of locational reverb as found sound.
"How does he come up with this stuff ?" is a great question.
The answer is unfortunately a news story in 2005, so it is based on a real tragedy.
He's brilliant, no question. But that choreography and camera work . . . Mwah! ❤
You will love Humble ~ Ren ft. Eden Nash
If you love his reggae/Ska style.
One of my favourites, and it's not easy to actually say which is a favourite... too many to pick from!
He's ace, ain't he mate! 🫶🏴
The tune he plays with his guitar at the beginning is Nate Dogg and Warren G. - Regulators!
The people in Brighton are used to Ren filming in the streets, you will see, the Rabbit Hole is deep.
Thank you ☺️
In his older videos, such as these 3 you can actually see mistakes he does... in later ones they hide em... which is not bad, all bands do it,, just like even metallica used autotune.. but older videos are more coerce, they still do a bit of mixing to get rid of outside but on these songs you can hear (&see) they werent there yet.. And to me, that "sings" honesty in voice
Would love to see your reactions on Money Game part 1,2&3. All are Fire, but part 3 is next level as far as sound and cinematography.
Money game is next 🥰
You must have the whole story,a trilogi
Please money game 1 2 and 3.
Pure genius.
Love the reactions 🫶
This will be next and thank you
