You can buy Chutney from your local store. Bun or Pav should not be sweet. Try the recipe and let me know how was the out come. :)

The only thing you have to do is pay thrice the price we pay to street Vendors. Chowpatty (Juhu & Girgaum) both have designated places for vendors but avoid them if you are a germophobe.

Making Vada Pav is very easy. You just need few basic ingredients.
Ingredients for Vada
Boiled Potato 1/2 kg (smash it coarsely ones they cool down)
Green Chillies finely chopped - 5-6
corriender chopped - 1/4 cup
ginger - 1 inch grated
garlic - 6-7 cloves crushed
cumin seeds - 2 tea spoon
mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon
corriender seeds - 2 tea
spoon (optional)
curry leaves - 6-7
turmeric powder - 1/10 part of tea spoon
oil, salt
Heat 3 table spoon of oil in a pan and add cumin and mustard seed to it (make sure they don't turn black ). Add ginger garlic and sautee for 30 sec. Add green chillies, curry leaves and turmeric powder. Add the smashed (coarsely) potatoes and salt. Stir the mixture for 1-2 min. let it cool down. Sprinkle chopped corriender and mix well
