    So long as you are using a non conductive fluid (even distilled water) and you are only powering the pump this is fine. It is always a moment of panic for sure but so long as you dry it up and then clean any dyes off with alcohol.
    Thankfully these days there are air pressure tools that you can hook up to your loop and push some air into it before you put any liquid in and let it sit with the pressure for an hour or two and if the pressure stays the same you have no leaks.

    • @hamett356
      @hamett356 11 місяців тому

      I had a massive leaking due a few fittings with the full sistem running and it won´t died. Cooling fluids are non conductive, the only trouble it´s you have to deep clean every single wet part with isopropyl alcohol, cause the cooling flui let residues when it dried. Unless you used tap water (thing that no one do) there is no any problem more than the full clean wich it´s a real pain in the ass.

      This is why you jump start it like he is. Just in case it spills anywhere you can clean it up with nothing damaged. And potentially fix where said leaks are coming from. In my opinion of having messed with both closed and open loop setups. It doesn't look like there is enough pressure on the back plate to keep it all from spraying out the sides. Or he has a faulty heat sink plate. Doesn't look like a very well known brand. On a serious note if you want to go liquid cooling go for a closes loop that's pre-built that you can refill! Those are the best. I just picked up one myself like 3 months ago. First I had closed, then open custom loop, then switched back to closed once I found the ocool eisbaer closed loop that is refillable. I truly love it and would recommend it to all....also don't ever use colored liquid. You will have to do a lot more cleaning/maintenance on your rig.

    Love to read the dumb suggestions so many people have after watching another person's failure or mistake. When creating or engineering something, there is often a detail that gets overlooked, forgotten, or just never even thought of. These failures are what others learn from, so I am actually glad to see when someone shows their mistakes in a video like this one, it helps others learn from them, so thank you for posting this video.

Nothing anywhere in this video gave us anything to learn FROM aside from his mess. Which we know nothing about in this video, except for he didn’t put it together correctly. Curb your fishing.

      If you know what your doing custom loops are zero issue at all specially if you double check everything properly and lay paper towels all over your motherboard before you do your first pump test. Also no an AIO will not cool as good as a custom loop.. there are AIOs that can be very comparable though to a simple/basic custom loop but the entire purpose of a custom loop is it being “custom” and being able to add as much cooling as you’d like. For example you could have four 540mm radiators stacked up and no AIO would be able compete with that. But if you’re just doing a very basic custom loop with a small single 240mm radiator then sure a 240mm AIO will be very similar.. but also an AIO hot plate is not gonna cool as well as some of the expensive high performance and custom hot plates of a custom loop water block.. so special custom cooled water blocks coupled with very large or many radiators on a custom loop can easily exceed what even the best AIO’s can do
