That mountain pass is abandoned now and only used for fun since they made a tunnel through the mountain. So now locals can pass all year round instead of three or four months out of the year that pass was impassible because of snow and avalances.
So 2 things we have in common "Itchy Boots" and Black Liquorice. And as usual a bit of off roading and gravel gives us your viewers an inclination as to what Iceland has to offer the travellers in us, plus fantastic drone footage. Cheers Runa.
Dynjandi waterfall make me remember my trip to Iceland and enjoy again. Thank you!! I think this waterfall is one on the most beautiful in Iceland 👏👏👏👏

Itchy Boots goes where no others fear to tread, she isn't really human🤣You need a CRF300 Rally, Runa😉 Your smile said it all about that amazing day, truly spectacular👌
Those waterfalls are just so beautiful, such wonderful big sky views. Good to see you handling the gravel roads well Runa. Straight onto viewing S4-E9 next for me. Wooo Hooo !🤩👍👍
@@stevenrobert8567 that is quite an ignorant comment, especially if you have not seen the beautiful things Iceland has to offer. I've been to Iceland twice and going for the third time this year, it is so amazing. Sadly some of these videos, while cool, do not do Iceland justice.

Thanks for all these videos. I started following you a few months ago. You definitely need to come back to Iceland and the Westfjords. I have been looking forward to see you ride through my area for many weeks, but then you had problems with your Go Pro. Next time you come to Iceland, you are invited to camp in Gufudalur. And I'll show you some of the hidden treasures we have here.
Morning Off She Goes. Wow! Did I get lost in the great drone footage this morning! Memories of touring around Scotland and parts of Wales came to mind. Thank you so much for sharing this girl, wonderful stuff 👍😊. As always wishing you safe and happy riding on your Iceland adventure. And again thank you so much for sharing 👍😁.
Thanks Runa. The timeless majesty of the mountains is so mesmerising and the drone footage captures it so well. For the most part it seems you have have the whole country to yourself 😄 Cheers
Sorry you didn´t go all the deserted road of Óshlíð. There was no need for turning there because the road was well rideable. I was in Bolungarvík a little earlier in ´22 and rode it much rather than the tunnel on my XTR660. You turned at one of two places similar, there is another a little outer which is ( or was) also easily rideable. The rest was fine. You would have got stunning photos of this old road and a spectacular view over to the coast on the other side. Better luck next time!
Another episode from another a beutiful part of Iceland. The way you put this together makes it feel like one big pice of art. Next time you come to Iceland you have to come to the south part of the Westfjords. I recomend Rauðisandur, Látrabjarg, Reykjafjörður and the best places to stay are in Breiðavík and Flókalundur. But if you come again then ofcourse you have to ride the road you talked about on the map, the "dangerous" one. It loops around the prettyest mountains in the west. It is a crazy road but worth it. Thanks for letting us enjoy your trip with you.
Another brilliant vid with beautiful scenery and some entertaining and informative commentary - Drone use is superb - waterfall breathtaking - Cool shout out to Itchy Boots, Noraly seems to have become a role model for RTW adventure riders in so many ways. Lots of stress put on your sidestand when you use it to pivot your (heavy) bike, best not to do that as something in the assembly will break just when you don't need it to .
Hi Runa, its getting better all the time, and I think Noraly would have carried on, but it's better to be safe than sorry 🙂 I grew up with black liquorice in mij late Dad's shop in Holland and find it difficult to buy here in the UK 😞 Awesome ride again and thanks for taking me on your journey, be safe 😊
Thank you Christian, glad you liked it! 😊 And yes, better be a bit careful until I gain more experience, I'll get more confidence bit by bit 😊 Sorry you can't seem to find any decent licorice in UK, they are missing out!
To turn the bike around in a tight spot, especially on asphalt or concrete, put the bike on the side stand, and pull the bike against the side stand and pick up the rear wheel. Pull both wheels off the ground and feel the balance point. Then, simply pull the rear of the bike and pivot on the side stand.
hi Runa. Another great video from you. Nice drone footage, calming music and your amazing smile. What can we ask for more, smile. Looking forward to the next one. Ride safe and free.

I don't usually comment on the UA-cam videos that I watch but this particuar one has provoked a couple of thoughts I feel are worth sharing. I was in Iceland from 17 August until 7 September 2022, a slightly overlapping period, and was also surprised at how few other bikers I saw whilst there given that there were probably 20-30 on the same ferry. But then it is a huge place with lots of amazing isolated roads to choose from! I would also totally agree about the comments on that section of roadworks. I rode that section on 27 August and the freshly laid loose gravel was one of the worst surfaces that had to ride on during the whole trip - there was another similar section of roadworks the next week on Route 1 along the south coast. However, the worst experiences were a few days of very high winds that I experienced in parts of the south and some of the thick fog on the north coast were a bit stressful too! Generally though, the riding conditions were fine and nothing that should put off anyone and all part of the experience of visiting Iceland. I only returned to biking in 2021 after a gap of nearly 40 years - I celebrated my 69th birthday in Reykjavik - and if I could do it anyone should be able to!! You also don't need to have a big expensive Adventure bike - I was on a 411cc Royal Enfield Himalayan, which although designed for rough roads only has about 24bhp and was heavily laden. My trip was meant to be "once in a lifetime" but I'm already looking at when I can go back again!
