Where should we take this thing?!
Don't take it to White fish bay.
Bahamas
From Michigan to Wisconsin, I'll meet you in manitowoc for lunch lol
Mackinac island
Torch
Definitely would pick up speed if you would trim her up
That’s what I was thinking. I understand in the bay keeping it trimmed down some but in the river you can really get that nose a bit and be smooth
@@ThePiper235 definitely put some bow lift and she will scream
Yeah I would of had mine quarter up
But I think he just wanted to keep an eye on his gouges more importantly
For sure. There's likely 8-10mph in trim, especially if the outdrive was trimmed all the way down during these runs.
Check your prop for dings and the edges of the prop for symmetry. Cavitation is a speed killer. Also, trim tabs are something to look at. Trimming your out drive will help as well. You still have a ton of hull dragging at speed
I painted that boat I was lead gell coater for eagle boats/ see old racing
She's looking strong. I bet when she's opened up and then you trim it up it starts really getting after it. Once your half 3/4 throttle and trim it up and thats whrn they feel real good. Too much of the boat is still in the water making drag.
I noticed the same thing! In the first video the trim tabs where down. I'm thinking he never did Raise them up.
I agree. She's riding pretty low. Trim her out and she'll pick up pretty good. A modern prop might help her out too
I don’t know much about boats but I also though the same. He never trimmed it. It’s sitting way to much in the water.
Lake of the Ozarks would be awesome there is also a nice off road park call the Loop down there as well. Let me know could show you around
I had an 88 same boat, same color and everything. Full roller 454 and got high 60’s consistently hitting 70.1 with the right chop, low fuel and buddy with me. Trim that thing to the moon and get that bow up. It loved to throw a rooster and dance. I was running a 4 blade 24 pitch hydromotive prop. I sold mine a few years ago and this video really makes me wish I didn’t. Killer boats.
Was you running any trim? Looked like a lot of boat in the water.
Definitely not trimming up at WOT you can hear It laying flat and not gaining any rpm. Trim that sucker up and scare your passengers lol
Was thinking the same. Bow was sitting pretty low.
@@jeremyspafford2520 me too
Someone needs to teach him how to read the trim gauge and the tach, and then he'll feel what she's capable of doing.
Otherwise he's just pissing gas out the tail pipes, and giving everyone a much rougher ride than she'd be doing under better circumstances.
But we all have to learn some time, and he'll figure it out eventually.
Makes me wonder if he's even keeping an eye on his gauges, and I definitely would love verified that they all read correctly before hitting the water especially with a bunch of people on board.
But that's just my many years showing themselves.
BTW she's a sweetheart, and whoever built the power plant, and rigged her in the compartment did a hell of a job.
If you know who it was I'd say y'all owe the man supper.
P.S.
The water speed meter is not accurate by any means, and use your phones GPS if you want the true speed otherwise your not even close guessing what it is on the water
And get rid of the cut stainless hard fuel line/rubber patch job on that carb.. hard line only for fuel pressure very dangerous
That boat has great lines. Those 80s and early 90s boats were so good looking. Brings back memories to my neighbor's Four Winns Liberator. He used to take us out on Lake Michigan
Lived on a lake in mid to late 80’s and loved the sounds from the Liberators running up and down the lake.
This gave me that “turn down for what” vibes. Lol
Great video guys, I grew up with that vintage of boats as well. Seebolds were huge in the marine industry and racing. You definitely need to trim the boat up at speed, she’s trimmed down on plane and you can see the nose stuffed when you’re at speed. Trim up a few clicks and she’ll loosen up nice and pick up probably 8 to 10 mph. Very nice boat!
I’m here for all the content. Including this sick boat!
This had me instantly looking online for one. I love the look and perfomance.
Keep running her and make memories. I've got a pachanga 22 with the 454. Love the boat. Keep kicking ass and going fast
Beautiful boat on the water Rick!
That sound is music. Beautiful boat. Well done.
That old pic of your pops racing the boat was pretty cool. I've heard one or two of his stories he's had some fun times.
Awesome, def more boat vids!
Take it the Ozark and hang with Justin with his new boat
We’ve talked about it 😎
Love it Rick! I just restored a 1990 Rinker 236 sport 454, simular style as your sweet boat. I can't wait to buy one of your hats. They are bad-a looking!
This whole story is pretty interesting. It reminds me a lot of my 88 checkmate enforcer I picked up off of my buddies dad a year ago! Old power boats are hard to beat in my opinion. Happy to see it on the water
I have the same type of boat… mine is a 87 but red and black… love it
Time to supercharge that beautiful boat! Grear video love the boating content
Nice looking boat. The looks are very contemporary, plus it looks new.
That thing sounds great!
I like the boat content. Good video!
Nice unit, something about trim and props, chick's dig boats!
Nice looking boat!
Man nice boat reminds hanging out Ky and Barkley lake down in KY . Really nice condition for sitting all those years have fun!
Awesome! You guys almost look like the boat crew from that lake of the ozarks boat mishap 😅
Rich rules! Sweet boat buddy!
You definitely need to experience the inland waterways here in michigan. It is a blast. We have been going for past 12 years. Really cool to see you doing some boating stuff!
Nice to see the old girl!!still a great looking great! We built some good boats back then!!!
Nice boat and sounds really good👍
Sweet ride
Very nice, very very nice! I just bought a 1990 Baja 300ES and getting it going as well.
Lookin good! Did you trim it up to see if it would go faster? Looked like the front end was kinda down
Rich rules baby! That boat is badass! Peace
Looks really good in the water. doesn't even look like an old boat. Very nice. Id like to see you find out where that 20MPH went. Good content.
That first clip had strong vibes of the notorious "sunglasses guy" that smashed his face and passengers on a wave lol
I’ve watched that so many times lol
Nice boat man 🤙
Give her a little trim rick? She runs pretty flat might just need to get that nose up and you might pick up some of that speed you lost.
I love pickle fork hulls, great find.
Nice 90's boat. Beautiful! Have fun!
Man, I bet Bill and Tim Seebold would be tickled pink to see this thing running!
Best idea I can think of is giving the boat to me! I don’t have a boat and would really like to have one. Let me know when I can make some plans for the water
Use a gps to check the speed. Boat speedos are usually 5 to 10 mph on the high side. Lookin' good!
Trim up until the boat starts to porpoise. Then bump it down just enough to stop it. You can then gauge your trim by how much water you're kicking up. You should have at least a 3 foot rooster would be my guess. I wouldn't even use the trim tabs unless you actually need them. Depends on the prop.
ALL the trust in the bellows lol. Nice boat!
Looks like the boat is riding bow heavy at speed. Try trimming the drive out and if you have tabs take them up. That will probably give you the 20 mph you are looking for. Nice old classic. Great to see it running well. Also make sure when your throttle is at wot, your carb is at wot (cable adjustment).
RICH Is Ruling BABY !!
Boooooost it Rich 😁👍
Lookin like a real Boatsmen
Trim boss, you got alot of boat in the water.
Bad ass boat!!!!
No doubt Rick that this thing sounds like a beast.Boat that kind of age sure looks nice and Sleek going through the water. Did anyone stop you on water for safety check? I knew you had it in you to keep on youtubin. Love the vids and keep it up my friend.
Nice damn boat!
Looks like the bow was trimmed down hard mate, try trimming the leg out until it just starts to cavitate or it starts porpoising... Then trim in a notch and you're good to go! If the engine is able to make max rpm then you need a higher pitched prop. If you were using it for towing toys when you were last out many years ago then it might have a lower pitched prop on for that.
Looks and sounds excellent. I'd never suspect that it was laying dormant for 17 years.
Rich your sir are an awesome guy out here doing your own thing on your own love it brotha keep it up when are we gonna get a merch drop 😆
Very cool seeing that boat out where is belongs. Now learn how to use the trim and get some air packing under that hull and it'll really move
It's running pretty good there.
Sounds mean as hell!
That pic of your dad rocking that boat way back was pretty sweet. Take him out if he's still around!
We’re going to for sure
I@@richrules Why did you leave Dad home on the madden voyage not cool
at 5:25 it appears that you either have the trim tabs down or the drive trimmed all the way down or both. Tabs are used to get on plane and then to balance the load, otherwise they should be up. Trimming the drive up will gain quite a bit of speed.
Paint it black and interior red , call it The Beast !
Nice boat
Sweet! i was just out thare on my searay
Definitely go to the ozarks.. if you plan on going to the shootout in August, start looking for a place now!! And make sure it has a boat slip
Fix that bad ass eagle up put a super charger on it I did mine you won't believe what it will do afterwards!!
That is awesome - I would drop in a motor like your Camaro and make a lake runner out it is - or turbo LS. Nice work
The Seebold family is from St Louis. Bill and his son Tim were both powerboat racers.
Looked like the hull was plowing pretty bad, trim that thing up and you’ll get at least 10 more mph. What rpm was it running at WOT?
Trim homey. Get that bow up and stern on the pad.
Thank you
trimming the out drive up get hull more out of the water would increase speed
I’ll bring my 87 pachanga do a river/bay run with you. If you are thinking of going that route look me up and I’ll come down. I’d love to check out the bay and maybe learn a few cool places to run to.
One very important thing that you need that I didn’t see in your video a fish finder. You need one to see bottom and structure as to not hit anything with your prop. I learned that the hard way. It’s right up there with first aid kit and PFDs
looks like you could have trimed up the lower unit some to get more of the boat out of the water, less boat in the water means less drag = go fast
😊😊😅😊😅😊
Outboard trim wasn’t up enough to get the prop in water it could get up to rpm in
If you are to add to this boat at all. I think it would be super cool keeping the boat looking as period as you possibly can. Also, trim that baby up, bow is sitting low. Can't wait for more content on this boat.
A clean audio setup would be the only modernization on this unit.
Rich let’s see some restoration and modernization on the old girl (big stereo, new upholstery, etc).
As for the power/ speed, did you play with the outdrive trim and tabs? Seemed to me the bow could come out of the water more and could help pick up some mph. Also top speeds are usually seen with light crew (1 or 2 people only) and 1/4 - 1/2 tank of fuel. Just my .02
Definitely take it to lake of the ozarks. If you wanna come west, lake Havasu is a blast!
No modernization no no no leave it old school bite your tongue there is nothing wrong with that boat leave it alone
I hope you replaced the gimble bearing and took a good look at the bellows for dry-rot and cracks.
I have a seebold 1991 with 100 original hours here in vegas ! Love it
Dang let’s rip that thing I need an excuse to go to Vegas
Nothing sounds better than a big block with through hull on the lake
That’s a beautiful looking boat, ain’t really too many boats I like it’s just that look just ain’t right. This is the look I like, yet i’m is here watching i’ll watch for the next one.
Nice boat have a 95 Wellcraft thats really looks damn near an identical twin to it but I put a 502 big block Chevy crate motor in it with 3 litre whipple supercharger on it...I also put some real nice external trim tabs on it..Does your boat have trim tabs or you just trimming it with the out drive? Cause it looks like it could benefit from some trim tabs.
For the love trim it out when your WOT. Get some air under that thing!
Make sure your bellows are good.
We repo'd A yellow Seabold a long time ago.. Really cool boats
Fishing and camping overnight would make for a fun video.
I have an old centurian Day cruiser looks just like, yours is in pretty good condition
So A lot of your speed probably has to do with the trim and attitude your running the boat at as well as water conditions, for maximum speed I would try trimming the lower unit up a bit to raise the bow then use the trim tabs to bring it back down a little this creates lift in the aft section of the boat reducing the wetted surface and increasing speed! there is a fine line between stability and speed, get to much air under it and it gets sketchy FAST lol.. Speed is all about reducing the wetted surface to reduce drag but it sacrifices ride quality and stability! Just a few thoughts to think about!
Use your trim up button to get air under the hull. that boat should run over 65MPH with a 25 pitch prop and trimmed out. I have a 1999 265S Seebold with a 496 and Bravo drive. it will run 74MPH using a 26 4 blade SS prop
You going to do anything to the paint on it, wonder how it would look with a cut and buff?
Did a hell of a job driving that boat for the first time in 17 years! Nice boat
Trim that thang!!!!
Hey Rich. Put a super charger on that engine. Then tune it. I mean it planes out on the water. You will probably need to add some more trim tabs if you do all that. Nice boat though
You might get beat up pretty bad at the ozarks. These days you need 35 or even 40ft boat Especially on a big event or holiday weekend.
You should bring it down to the mississippi river pool 26.
It's a good time. Lots of sand bars restaurants and whatnot.
Definitely should try playing with the trim.
