Nice mall views Mike. There is lots of new malls and expansions going up in various cities so you know there are people with money to support them.

Google claims there are 2.4 million OFWs (overseas Filipino workers), and an additional 4 million Fil-Ams living in the States, most of which are likely sending money back to the Philippines constantly. That will support a lot of malls (obviously).

I read an article about how much money comes in just in December. It was an amazing amount but I don't have the figures now.

Apart from OFW remittances, the Philippines also has a booming BPO & construction industries plus the manufacturing output also continues to grow & expand. Lots of infrastructure projects & construction going on in the country right now which provide direct jobs to people. Obviously, there is a growing middle class that support & frequent these malls. The Filipino people also love to hang out with family & friends that's why malls will always have a market in the Philippines. Malls are accessible & convenient places not just to shop but also to spend quality time with friends & loved ones. I guess, that's the reason why malls are really #MoreFunInThePhilippines. Lol!

Mike, do you ever wonder where they get the material and decorations to build these? I wonder if they have to import them in or if they're all manufactured in the Philippines.

It's a consumer-driven country so malls are very popular. I also live in Iloilo, Mike, in Pavia. Which part of Iloilo do you live at, Mike?

Hi Mike, Im offended when you said the city is poor and they have this kind of mall. this is my city and I love ILOILO even without this mall. hope in the future you learn how to accept my city and country as what is it poor or rich, you been leaving in Iloilo for almost 3 to 4 years and you still think my city is poor. Mike my city is richer than MICHIGAN ( USA ) as far as I know, Michigan is far worst economy than ILOILO so please next time be fair and think what would you say when you are posting in youtube, cause who knows people in USA like you dont know ILOILO are better place to leave than MICHIGAN.

It baffled me how the Filipinos can afford the mall prices there. Even If they have OFW in their family they make $550.00 a month maybe, so if they send $400.00 back to their families how can they afford to shop in the mall and eat out in the swanky restaurant.
