You know when you where talking about how the villains in 5 and 6 say so much but nothing at all I think that for Joseph it fits him since as a cult leader they use big words to try to convince otherhe is right, but for Anton it just dosnt fit, he should have been more of someone who puts on a act I'm public and playing to peoples prides well in the shadows slowly killing and bleeding them dry
I didn't mind it, like yeah I agree the tonal shifts constantly were.. Odd. But what honestly kept me going wasn't those crazy wacky characters, it was the dictator and his son. I wanted to see what he was gonna say next, what he was gonna do next. The ending got me. I wasn't expecting him to kill his son right there at the end. It wasn't a grand game but it also wasn't that bad to me either.
This is by far the best critique I've ever seen on FC6. Well done. This game is a shame for the Far Cry community, no innovation, horrible storyline and characters, and a constant breeze of failed fun and immature jokes that absolutely ruined the already weak immersion that the game has. I hope Far Cry 7 will come back strong and serious, because if not, I will no longer have faith in this franchise that I've been playing and loving since almost 10 years. Far Cry 6 is a bad game and a disastrous Far Cry installment.
A 1967 revolution story would've been amazing, where you play as El Tigre and have Lucky Mama/Lorenzo as your companions. The map would be a lot smaller and more dense, quality over quantity. Blending in with civilians is crucial, meaning no stupid outfits. Weapons and ammo are scarce, meaning to be reliably equipped you need to raid military outposts and depots. Optional weapon jamming should return to the series. Main missions should be serious, side missions can be as goofy as Ubi wants. The main villain would be a lot more present than ever before. There would be no anti-America or anti-white propaganda. No bullshit politics of any kind.
I´ve just recently found your channel and Im really glad I did. Your content is great and well planned. Hope to see more of you in the future. Keep up the great work
As for your conclusion I would be more open about the direction of the series. Rather than saying the next game SHOULD be more serious and bring back immersive/survival elements I suggest they find a tone and stick to it. Be it more lighthearted with some jokes and overthetop gameplay or a more serious and hostile setting with survival elements to build tension and immersion - i can see both work. I vastly prefer the latter though personally and i'm with you on that one, so maybe starting with that to contrast what 6 did wrong would be good. Good video
Good point, as long as there is tonal consistency a variety of ideas can work. Like you said though, I personally think an immersive experience is far more interesting than a more comedic one
I agree that farcry 6 gameplay and story is shit but don't talk about the music that's so uncultured the music is amazing and fits the tropical island In the Caribbean Not to mention This song is the best thing in the entire game la Rubia Are you seriously claiming you got platinum in this game and then you proceed to not know that there's a drug Mission You literally gets kidnapped and gets a phone with a poisoned needle stuck in your body and has to drive to the doctor while you hallucinate
What made this game not Far Cry for me... I never once felt threatened or in danger. There was no period of being underpowered. And no enemies relentlessly hunting me. I could walk down the road without worry. I was given the best rifle and it was upgraded for free. I had a tank before leaving the tutorial area. The best part of Far Cry games to me is that first 3rd of the game where the enemy caused anxiety... every car that passed was a threat. Reinforcements were called in and vame quickly. Sometimes I had to run away and hide. There was none of that in FC6. As a result, the sudden mayhem that characterizes Far Cry was reduced and limited by this. The mayhem is the fun of Far Cry. Alarms ringing, trucks full of enemies barreling over their own men to get at you. Bears on fire ripping people apart. Explosions, heavy weapons, endless waves of men.... there was little of that. I had to play on Guerilla, turn off all the hand holdy crap and make rules for myself like no holstering my weapons and forgetting my entire aresenal was available at all times, using only the first load out and letting that limit be part of my playstyle. They gave you too much OP stuff. Its just a cakewalk of clearing objectives. What is nice about FC is the availability of all playstyles. You can make a build to play in really unique and challenging ways. The best part of Far Cry 6 was making my own fun... going on purposeless rampages with odd weapons and tactics. More like Just Cause than Far Cry. Far Cry 5 was my favorite Far Cry. Mostly due to the environment. I am from Michigan... northern Michigan, espcially the Upper Penninsula, looks a LOT like Hope County. It felt the most real to me. And the mayhem was top notch. There were some decent mind fxcks in FC5 too. You really ended up wondering... am I the bad guy?
The difficulty progression in Far Cry 6 feels very grindy for me, but in order to explain what I mean I need to 1st talk about some of the other games 1st. Far Cry 3 had you face of against the pirates for most of the campain ontill you reach the final act. The pirates either didn't wear any body armour or very light armour (with the juggernaughts being an exception) and were using low level weapons in order to fight you. Then when reach the south island you get to go up against the privateers. In spite of the fact that their AI is just as dumb as the pirates, they were still a lot harder to combat due their gear (weapons and armour) being much better. They even swap out the 2 extra rush enemies (knifer and drunk) out for a new juggernaught type known as the flamer which makes the privateers way more terifying. Far Cry 4 desided to hit CRT C CRT V what 3 had, but changed the color around (The privateers wear yellow and the royal guard wear red just like the royal army). I don't remember much from Primal, but I belive that there wasn't a strickt order in when you got to take each faction (I forgot what the rival tripes are called, so I'll be refering to them as the bloods (The red tripe) and the cribs(the blue tripe)) down onlike in 3 and 4. However, I'm pretty sure that most players gravatate towards taking down the Bloods 1st as the Cribs had better gear on them. Then Far Cry 5 came a long and went away with set difficulty progression, due to the fact that you can now go anywhere and the game doesn't buff it's enemies apon you taking down a Seed bunker. The enemies stay the same which results in the game becoming really easy (There is this 1 UA-camr - who has now deleted his channel due to personal reasons - theorised that the reason why the enemies stay the same is because Ubisoft wants you to spend REAL money on high level weapons) New Dawn's campain is again linier, but has it's enemies turn into bullet sponges over time and Ubisoft tries to intise you into using REAL money so you can combat them, but I always manished to hit my shots correct, breaking the armour and killing the enemies, thus allowing me to loot their high level weapons. Far Cry 6 uses elements from 5 and New Dawn and I don't like it. You have the freedom to take down whoever you want, but each time you get closer to taking down 1 of Anton's underlings the level for the enemies go's up. I ended up having to grind side content in order to not get 1 shot by the bullet sponges (kind of reminds me of Patch 1.3 from Division1)
I enjoy Far Cry series for what it is, aside from FC1, which is good(at least at the time of it's release), but it's an entirely different game from the rest of the series, since it was made by a different developer and FC2, which i did not enjoy and really don't get the hype for. While FC6 is overall enjoyable, it mostly has to do with the gameplay. Having recently replayed the game, i gotta say, it's story is all over the place, and while some things in it are good, like the protagonist is really great, especially when compared to FC5's blank slate of a player character; the villain is decent, and while he is a bit of a departure from the series's previous antagonists, since he's not a complete psycho like Vaas, it's a departure that i personally liked; also the voice acting by Giancarlo Esposito really elevates Anton Castillio even further. But everything else in the game's story is just so... meh. None of the supporting characters stuck with me, and while the game desperately tries to make you care about them, they are so forgettable that you don't feel anything whenever a "dramatic" moment happens. Also, i really can't help but feel like the series as a whole is starting to get really stale. If the next mainline game in the series is going to be the same thing again, i really doubt that i will play it.
WoW i cannot fault a single thing you say, having only completed fc 5 i was impressed with how 6 added more guns an weapons but that was it. I have had performance issues if i travel fast over the map - on a ps4 pro. I feel nothing for the main boss , like his name?? I also felt like a lot of what i was doing was just pure cringe an not serious too. I will tbh still play it to completion but ive only played fc 5 in the last 6 months. I am wanting to play it (6) again now. I have to ask about the DLC tho, i really enjoyed them as having never (yet) played fc 4 it was great to get a taste of the boss ( pagan min )? I cannot thank you enough for showing me so much about this series & also Celeste among others. I hope to see more from you an i really hope you succeed as you really deserve it. Thank you. P.s fc5 DLC gave me the ray guns in the main game an i cant not use them now
Seeing how Ubisoft goes back to the roots with the new Assassin´s Creed gives me hope that the next FarCry is also going to improve. The immaturity is really one of the things that annoys me the most in today´s games, not only in the FarCry franchise. Although, I have to say that FarCry 6 surprised me positively after expecting way worse. For me, FarCry New Dawn was the peak disappointment in the whole franchise and FarCry 5 was also way worse than Fc6 in my opinion
I know it's a minor thing in the video, but I strongly disagree that Far cry 4s soundtrack isn't as memorable or doesn't have a strong motif. I can't ever forget the beautiful ambience and ost composed by Cliff Martinez (The mountain watches is one of my favorites) and the tracks from the bombay royale hit that perfect spot in terms of the setting and tone of the game. ("The river" playing when you're about to Confront Pagan is iconic.) And who couldn't forget the opening and closing "Should I stay Or should I go." That is one of the most iconic parts of this game. You can disagree with me if you want, but I truly think it has the most underrated soundtrack in the main far cry line
While I mildly disagree and heavily agree with some aspects, the thing I disagree the most is the part about the music. The "libertad" soundtrack was rather memorable and the intro was impeccable.
I think you can make this video for every Ubisoft game published in the last 4 years. They are systematically pushing out games, with only 1 big quality: a beautiful open world. For the rest all you do in these games is ticking boxes.. Quantity over quality. Take Assassins Creed for example, there are a gazillion different collectibles, 100’s of fortresses you need to clear, very dull characters and poor writing.. All filler content. Whenever Ubisoft publishes a game nowadays I’m thinking twice before buying it.
The real villains in FC6 are the resistance groups. They all commit horrible crimes and are even more violent and bloodthirsty than Castillo and show no remorse for it, including Dani.
I do think your critique is a bit harsh, tho must say I mostly can see your points. I still think FC6 is very overhated. I personaly enjoyed FC6 very much.
This video is every reason on why I didn’t buy far cry 6. I didn’t like where far cry was going. I enjoyed far cry 5, I didn’t like how it changed thing that made far cry, far cry. They change the healing system, made craft not important. I have play fc5 3 full playthroughs, and I don’t remember a single thing that you craft (I’ve played fc3 3 full playthroughs and remember every you can craft.). The protagonist doesn’t say a word, and all we know about the character is they’re a deputy. New dawn goes against everything far cry had going for it, by having that stupid level system where you can’t kill an enemy if they where a higher level then you. Those are the main thing I had against those games. And every thing you list I saw though reviews and playthroughs and said “nope”
Also it does make sense a country does something what other nation does. It happening all the time. Last time it happened in Ecuador and they used the exact same deffence. They said if ez Rahel can do it than they can do it to.
Omg i am so sorry I am only watching this now, i would like to blame UA-cam for never once recommending it but i simply forgot an only now remember how great your content was an that i was really interested to know how you felt about fc 6. I will watch now an comment again after.
Far Cry 6 was developed by Ubisoft Toronto and all of the other games were developed by Ubisoft Montreal. Ubisoft Toronto can not make a good game. They just aren't capable of it, Watch Dogs Legion, Far Cry 6, Far Cry 5's Northern region, and now the Splinter Cell remake.
My first Far cry game. Had a blast shooting soldiers and crashing helicopters but didn't pay one second of attention to the story. It was also too easy, pretty much only played when inebriated
Don't get me wrong I may be late but I love this video however the "no farcry villian" point while it is your opinion i have a great counter pull a FC3 and actually play as the villain because as far as im aware you're always the hero but what if you weren't what if YOU were causing the issues YOU were creating outposts and YOU were the villain maybe then you'll see how there is no good or evil just nature of man and power
Thank god I´m not the only one which thinks this game is boring. It just felt like Ubisoft needed to put this out no matter what. Until they make money out of it. The UI looks so unfinished and the environment looked the same on every spot of the island.
In Far Cry 5, when you have to kill the one girl I actually had sympathy for her. I felt thats the best part in both Far Cry 5 and 6 that i can remember.
I actually disagree with the Anton "is pure evil" thing. In the present Ubisoft timeline, yes, he is evil. But given to a more competent writer and tone which actually follows it, yeah, his actions with the slavery thing is, when he talked about it, not him trying to justify his morals or the morality of his actions, but just pointing out facts. Even history proves he is correct, not good. Stalin is, what I am guessing, where some of his actions are based off of. Look at what he did for Russia. He turned a weak, failing and tortured population of Russia, into a global super power rivaling that of not just the rest of Europe, but also the US, post WW2. So yeah.
The point of the slavery rant wasn't that it was moral, he was basically telling the reporter that America should get its shit together before pointing fingers.
I understand, but my point was that it would be much more intriguing if he did have a convincing justification for any of his actions, rather than just saying 'well you did it first/also'
@@xArchivist The only way to justify what he's doing is with a "The Ends Justify The Means" outlook and that's simply not going to land with everyone. Besides, many irl dictators have been morally bankrupt but highly charismatic and I think that's what the writers might've been going for
America ended slavery long before the events of the game, so why would we need to get it together now? Also, if Anton wanted to raise his country out of the 3rd world and turn it into paradise, he should sell Viviro to America first and as quickly as possible considering that the US has the market and influence to greatly uplift Yara. His grievances regarding America doesn’t hold up that well all things considered.
@@generalgk I don't know if you've heard, but America didn't just stop being racist when we stopped having slavery. Besides, we still profited from it immensely.
I am sick of Ubisoft shoving their “strong empowered” females down our throats. It started in FC 5 and went full wackjob in FC 6. Between that, the RPG mechanics, non-sensible ammo system, and magic powers….the game was unplayable.
Far Cry 3 is where this shit started , everyone ignores it bc of good villain . Thats where Far Cry changed from good pc fps to console shit full of stupid cut scenes and boring console mechanics.
I can see where you are coming from, but I think the immature humor adds to the atmosphere. Even though it may not be your taste, it is realistic. People cope with hardships with immature humor and you can't be sad all the time and if you have ever been around Latinos, you know they will act like the way they did in FC6 because they are just fun people. There are many moments in the game where the characters do get sad and stop making jokes because it is worse than they ever have felt before, but with everything else, it makes sense for them to be outgoing and immature because they only have one shot to save their country.
I personally would disagree since i believe that Farcry 6 was not a game about Anton castillo but about la Libertad and the characters that were found along the way, mainly the legends of 86 and the montero family. I agree that the game was lacking when compared to its counterparts mainly farcry 2/3/5 but i would also say that the main story perspective was just laid out differently with diego and libertad in the middle.
Only good farcry imo is 4. Was never able to finish 5 and 6 well the only reason I bought it was because it was my first time watching breaking bad and when I saw the villain was gus I was hyped. Farcry 3 was a struggle to push my self through it Jason was just to cringy for me
You know when you where talking about how the villains in 5 and 6 say so much but nothing at all I think that for Joseph it fits him since as a cult leader they use big words to try to convince otherhe is right, but for Anton it just dosnt fit, he should have been more of someone who puts on a act I'm public and playing to peoples prides well in the shadows slowly killing and bleeding them dry
Cult leaders say empty words on purpose, so it fits for 5, but 6? Yeah they dropped the ball.
The most underrated youtuber in the world! Keep up the great work!!

Most underrated youtuber? Don't be ridiculous.

yeah ill probably do one some time
The difficulty progression in Far Cry 6 feels very grindy for me, but in order to explain what I mean I need to 1st talk about some of the other games 1st.

They took a bit too much from Borderlands. From the quest description to the introduction of new characters.

Giancarlo Esposito is one of my favourite actors and I played this game nust for him.
Weapon jamming isn’t an issue if they add a gun oil system, like RDR2. The weapon degradation in FC2 was also just too quick and unrealistic.
Omg i am so sorry I am only watching this now, i would like to blame UA-cam for never once recommending it but i simply forgot an only now remember how great your content was an that i was really interested to know how you felt about fc 6. I will watch now an comment again after.
I beat Far Cry 3, 4, and 5 multiple times and I couldn’t bring myself to finish this one. I 100% agree with you.
Can u do a Pamaj styled video like ireapzz
You Have good Points but i still like the game
Nothing wrong with that
Far Cry 6 was developed by Ubisoft Toronto and all of the other games were developed by Ubisoft Montreal. Ubisoft Toronto can not make a good game. They just aren't capable of it, Watch Dogs Legion, Far Cry 6, Far Cry 5's Northern region, and now the Splinter Cell remake.
Holy shit those Jackal lines are so good. It almost makes me want to play FC2.
most underrated fc villain for sure
My first Far cry game. Had a blast shooting soldiers and crashing helicopters but didn't pay one second of attention to the story. It was also too easy, pretty much only played when inebriated
Man I want FC2 with updated gameplay and animals. 6 sucked to me because of the ammo sponge thing and tone
I've played every main Far Cry game and enjoyed them greatly but I had stop playing 6 after 20 hours and not even finish it. Very mediocre effort.
I felt thats the best part in both Far Cry 5 and 6 that i can remember.
solid video!
I didn´t even saw the crocodile scene because I skipped every single cutscene xd
So yeah.
dude where is the platinum? you baited us?
I don't know if you've heard but there hasn't been slavery in American for a very long time
@@generalgk I don't know if you've heard, but America didn't just stop being racist when we stopped having slavery.
Farcry has become to ubisoft what fifa is to ea. It will take 1 or 2 more before people really start to see it.
Far Cry 3 is where this shit started , everyone ignores it bc of good villain . Thats where Far Cry changed from good pc fps to console shit full of stupid cut scenes and boring console mechanics.
Nice vid, however it's Espósito. Second O is accented.
15:45 I must disagree with that, i think Far Cry 6 has very good main theme
ua-cam.com/video/LdylfuI2ihg/v-deo.html
I can see where you are coming from, but I think the immature humor adds to the atmosphere. Even though it may not be your taste, it is realistic. People cope with hardships with immature humor and you can't be sad all the time and if you have ever been around Latinos, you know they will act like the way they did in FC6 because they are just fun people. There are many moments in the game where the characters do get sad and stop making jokes because it is worse than they ever have felt before, but with everything else, it makes sense for them to be outgoing and immature because they only have one shot to save their country.
loved the game
Game is pretty fun. I thought I wasn't going to like it.
War is my home
I personally would disagree since i believe that Farcry 6 was not a game about Anton castillo but about la Libertad and the characters that were found along the way, mainly the legends of 86 and the montero family.
I agree that the game was lacking when compared to its counterparts mainly farcry 2/3/5 but i would also say that the main story perspective was just laid out differently with diego and libertad in the middle.
that daisy mission sucks
Gekoloniseerd
Only good farcry imo is 4. Was never able to finish 5 and 6 well the only reason I bought it was because it was my first time watching breaking bad and when I saw the villain was gus I was hyped. Farcry 3 was a struggle to push my self through it Jason was just to cringy for me
Says a lot about you tbh
I just hit a 5on. Want to see it?
Personally I disagree, I love far cry 6 and 5 and they are my top 2 far cry games
To each their own!
