Of note on Clancy’s absence in some games: it’s because he’s too busy working on other productions to come in for recording, not because he’s “too big for small gigs”. For example he was working on Jak II when Battle for Bikini Bottom was being made, so they hired Joe Whyte instead
yeah people always forget that Clancy also does other work besides Spongebob, hell even tom Kenny does, but they usually delay the game to specifically get spongebob's voice.
huh, i always heard it was because universal treated him so badly during the crash games, he just didn’t want to deal with video game voice acting again

I see I'm not the only person who's noticed that (though to be fair I found this channel specifically because of my interest in cartoons, games, and games based on cartoons)
It's great that Lights, Camera, Pants! finally had the Flying Dutchman physically in it, in 3D and with dialogue-wise interaction! In the previous games he either was a 2D sprite, had voice lines only or he was only mentioned.
and here I thought I’d never see anyone talk about this version in-depth. this was the version I grew up on and loved, it and the other PC games I had at the time (Can You See What I See?, Legoland, Creature from the Krusty Krab, etc.) will always hold a nice special place in my heart.
21:33 Fun fact: If you ignore the Magic Conch and just go the wrong way Spongebob will say "Something tells me that I took a wrong turn" and this leads you to a prop. Once you find the dig site however you will always go back to the place where you would end up if you went the wrong way while following the seahorse.
When I was little, I’d play these games over and over. Mostly because other games felt too complex and difficult to my very small mind. I feel more nostalgic over the movie game tbh, but this game was way more fun. Despite the years I can still remember most of the dialogue and different settings in a way much more distinct than a lot of my other memories, so it’s pretty special to me.
Tbh, Hammerstein's PC voice fits better how I imagined his GBA counterpart sounding, which is the version I grew up with. But I did get a good laugh out of hearing him sound like Sid the Sloth on the console xD
These alternate games were the ones I had as a kid. I only found out there were different versions when I tried looking up the games I was playing as a kid, only to be confused why they were completely different
This was notably Bubble Bass’s biggest appearance during the interim between Seasons 1 and 8-9 ish. For a big fan of Bubble Bass growing up, this was a real treat.
The Dirty Bubble threw me kinda off. Him coming in felt kinda off and I don't think he had any dialogue or vocal interaction with SpongeBob. Also not sure how SB convinced him to play in the movie.
I was so disappointed when getting this game for the pc as a kid. I saw all the commercials on Nick for the action packed minigame collection versions of the game for console and was so disappointed when I found out i basically got a completely different game
23:05 This doubled voice clip of SB screaming kinda threw me off. In the Dutch redub they only redubbed the first one so you end up with a Dutch and English SB scream layered on top of each other. But in the original English version it also sounds kinda weird. I agree with what you said about that scene being weird. As for the minigame, as a kid I thought you were saving those ghost pirates from the fireballs by sucking them in that weird vacuum cleaner. I thought the pirates belonged to you because they looked exactly the same as the friendly ghost. So the fireballs would come from other pirates or something off-screen.
This video unlocked some core memories. My brothers and I played the PC version of "Lights Camera Pants" and the Spongebob typing game. My mom hated SpongeBob, but ESPECIALLY hated the typing game.
I agee I like Gill here alot more in the pc version, his voice is more tolerable to listen to and the jokes he makes at the beginning are pretty accurate
I’ve never played this game or any of the PC games when I was younger, but I used to watch longplays of them on UA-cam so I remembered this. Great video :)
I never played this video game in particular, but I loved playing 'Employee of the Month' when I was a kid. Heck, I still love playing it NOW! Had I played this game as a kid, Little Me would've loved it. Heck, just watching the LCP gameplay and cutscenes reminded me SO much of EotM. Gotta love that sweet, sweet nostalgia! Especially since they seemed to have reused a lot of the same music. Actually, I might see if I can track down a copy of this one. It's like nostalgia but in a whole new package! (And Karen's in this one so that's a good bonus for me)
a couple of months ago i actually found a way to download EotM on my modern computer! But because of the advanced graphics, a lot of the game was laggy and many assets were missing (spongebob had no eyes :/) I would like to play this one though
@@Milkyway_Wishes you need to use DgVooDoo and put a copy of the config file in the game’s directory alongside the necessary DLL files. It’ll emulate the old hardware so that white is white instead of “No texture”
Great throwback review! I had both versions of Lights, Camera, Pants as a kid. Both versions' gameplay styles are fun, though between the two, the console version does the moviemaking component of the game better IMO. While I like how the PC version lets you pick and choose who gets what part right off the bat, I prefer the console version for how it has each part come with different dialogue depending on who is playing it (as opposed to the PC version, where the dialogue is the same no matter who is cast in what role.)
I had the PC version of Light, Camera, Pants. I got it at my school's book fair. I was so mad to learn it wasn't the same game as the console version, but I still played the hell out of it and beat it probably 10 times.
I also got the pc version at my school's book fair or something like it a long time ago, i never played any other version which is funny because I'm not really a pc gamer.
If you want to get better props from mini games you have to play them again after winning and score triple what the winning score is to get all of them. Except for jellyfish fields, you have to play it three times.
Absolutely loved Employee of the Month as a kid, and also the PC version of the movie game. I'm honestly sad they never made more point-and-click Spongebob games because they fit so well with the series' characters and antics, more so than platformers imo. I never played this one as a kid, but I know I wouldve loved it.
Never heard of this game before, but the jokes from the game (that were shown in this video) made me laugh so hard, and I don't know why. This looks pretty fun actually so I may look into getting it.
My overall thoughts on the game, after finishing replaying it just recently - it's very fun, and I love how much content there is. So many locations and iconic characters from the show. But it doesn't have the same level of polish that EOTM and MOVIE games had. Those games had so many little interactive objects Spongebob can look and comment at, and the visuals of the world were a lot more animated. Including better looking backgrounds, and actual animated doors. LCP just doesn't have that, and a lot of maps look kind of dead, with no visual details. And interactive non-essential elements are so rare. Wall of Gadgets in the Mermailair is the most interactive thing in the game.
On one hand, i doupt a point a point&click adventure would have worked good enough on a console game, but on the other hand its somewhat confusing and misleading for two games with the exact same tile to be so different from each other. Its like Having Minecraft for PC be the Minecraft we know, but then the console version becomes a 3D platformer. Also the console version of the hammerhead guy sounds like Sid from Ice Age
Dude it's so nice to hear someone go in depth about the spongebob pc games. I played them to death as a kid even though they never got that much attention. Great job on these
Do you think any of the reused models could be considered to be the same character? That biologist appeared in the movie game but I don't remember if they had the same name. The old lady doesn't have a name in either game. And there's Morty. The Weenie Hut guy is probably a different person. The hotel manager could be the same guy, because of the same skin colour.
I played that up for the sake of humor, but it is fun to think of them as the same characters. And I could never forget the biologist's name in the Movie. Charles Oscar William Piedmont Augustus Winthrop, aka COWPAW.
Oh yeah I remember playing EotM and LCP on PC as a kid. It’s just too bad both of them are incredibly short, clocking in at maybe 2 hours each even if you’re playing at a steady pace
when I first got the game I looked it up and was confused by the party game that kept coming up, i'm so glad there's actually a well made video on this version
1:40 I played lights camera pants mostly alone, it actually has a kick ass single player mode, and when you beat it you unlock free play and can play each mini game in any order and create your own mini game playlist as a mini tournament. A large majority of them were genuinely extremely fun and it felt like an actual game. It also helped that each of the characters personalities shined through extremely well. Because compared to Mario party each mini game lasted a few minutes each so there was more depth to each of them. Which is a good thing because LCP is literally ONLY mini games and nothing else. The game is just a competition on who accumulates the highest score after a round of mini games.
I remember playing a few of my ex friend's computer games. We use to trade computer games and play them at our own computers. I played a few of her spongebob games, and I loved the one point and click spongebob game Edit: it was employee of the month
It was great watching your retrospective on the SpongeBob PC games! I owned Operation Krabby Patty, Employee of the Month, and Battle for Bikini Bottom thanks to all of them coming in this one collection of games! Never played this one, but it was great to see. It looks pretty fun. Would you also be planning to take a look - even briefly - at Nicktoons Basketball? That was another one I had as well.
The fact that the guy at jelly fish fields says that jellyfish are aliens is creepy considering that there are multiple theory videos about this topic, it might as well be canon😂
That's interesting, that weird thing the console version's Hammerstein has with the way he speaks, I don't know how it's called, he also has that in the Dutch redubbed version of the PC game. Maybe the Dutch studio took inspiration from the console version. Dialogues (and with that his PC personality) are faithfully translated though. 🤔
Lights camera pants and the flying Dutchman one were my favorite games to play all day. None of my friends ever played them only battle for bikini bottom, I had them both on GameCube, they were super fun, 10/10 would play again. Also as a side note you could play the console version of lights camera pants all as one player with one controller, you didnt *need* to have other people to play with (I appreciated this greatly)
Great adventure and better than that party game. I really wish AWE Games had stayed with us for longer with more SpongeBob point-and-click adventures. Unfortunately that's a dream that will never come true. We can only enjoy what we've got. ❤️
This is the only version of Light, Camera, Pants that I'm familiar with and the only one I played. So it's funny that this is seen as the 'obscure' version as I don't know any other one. Definitely one of my favorites as I myself have big obsession for movies and acting.
I remember seeing the advertising for the console game and getting stuck with the PC version as a 6 year old with no game consoles. Ah the memories... Years later I was able to get the console version luckily.
At least in the console version the Game's Ending is the entire movie where the character plays that spot, the good thing is, There is no shaming the player for losing to a CPU, the game just moves on, I do like the make your own movie where you can actually have the power to all in all the playable characters and set scenes for them, it's a Nice little Break time for you have after such a long game
I personally feel like the world of Bikini Bottom in these games is so much better than even some episodes of Seasons 1-3. I don’t know why but the sky looks so much more beautiful in these games than many episodes of the show.
Hi Luci! Just stumbled on these nostalgic videos and I love them, they remind me so much of the excitement of coming home from school just to play these games
Hi! Thank you so much, I'm really happy you enjoyed the videos! I've been playing them on discs, so Windows 10 and 11 should still be able to run them. I think some people have been able to get them to run without a disc or on the Steam Deck, but I'm not sure how that process works. I know there's a popular website people sometimes use to download old games off of, but I haven't looked into it because I'm often suspicious of sites like that. It's really sad that modern computers are starting to get rid of disc drives. They can be very beneficial, even if they do take up a lot of space.
I remember playing this game on pc and none of the characters ever talked, they just made these weird banjo kazooi style sounds, I don't know if it was some sort of error but it is weird hearing them for the first time in this video. Also I was never able to find all of the props and wonder if it was because I couldn't return to Manrays containment room after I freed him.
I played the Gamecube version at a friend’s house and thought it was fun so I bought the GBA version and was disappointed to see it was just a stock-standard sidescroller. I think that’s the only tike I ever wished a game was a mini-game collection.
I love the SpongeBob CD rom Games I collected every single one and got them working on the steam deck Also, when modifying the games to work on the steam deck the lag is completely gone for cut scenes
It's kinda funny how Squidward seems so nice to SpongePaul, yet Sandy is the complete opposite. Y'know, the one who's probably the nicest to SpongeBob?
The AWE continuity is kinda wild. It's kind of impressive that they have so many callbacks to classic episodes. Now, while I do find it kind of lazy to reuse assets, like the 3d models for the villagers, considering I'd never even heard of AWE until last night while watching your video on their version of The Movie, maybe they just weren't too well off make new models?
I personally had the gba version and I played the SHIT out of it. I feel like that version doesn’t get as much love really cuz I feel like it’s a hidden gem
I am 100% positive they had this game on the DS. In that game, you could play as the main characters in different platforming levels. When you beat the level, the character gets a role in the movie. Because I didn't quite understand, I just played the whole game as Squidward. So Squidward was given all the roles in the movie. XD
Thank you!! And it works for me on Windows 10. If it doesn’t work for you, you might need to install DirectX. It’ll tell you how to do that during the installation process.
@@lucililium Thank you so much! I didn't actually try it yet just to clarify, because I don't even have a disc drive yet haha But I know many many people were having troubles with trying to get the pc games running, so I just wanted some clarity before trying. Thank you!!
I like this game too. But the only thing I didn’t really like was how there weren’t a whole lot of things to click on and have SpongeBob comment on them unlike in Employee of the Month and the PC version of the SpongeBob Movie Game. And it’s a real shame too because there’s a lot of objects in the sceneries of this game that I really would’ve liked to click on and have SpongeBob say something about it.
An old game I used to have lots of memories with but haven’t made a video on star Flyers Also I had plans for a fanmade 2D point and click version of employee of the month but had to scrap it because of being busy
You should review the Lesser known PC version of Bratz Rock Angelz! It be interesting to see you talk about that version. Also, did you know that AWE productions also developed Bratz Rock Angelz for the PC?
alright what squidbob shipper is up there in awwe who flanderized sandy's character, took all the snark out of squidward and gave it all to sandy? XD like this feels like some strange fanfic AU where squidward and spongebob are buried next to each other for totalllly platonic reasons. (i'm just saying, this feels like squidbob fuel. i like wholesome milder squidward)
I do think it’s weird how this game runs cut scenes the reason why the game lags is that instead of downloading the cut scenes to the computer like all the other SpongeBob games to avoid this leg issue the game instead calls on the fly cut scenes from the disc slowing down the process for how the cut scene should run this game to run on the steam deck I took the files from the disc and put them into a makeshift video folder on the computer and the cut scenes didn’t lag at all
Of note on Clancy’s absence in some games: it’s because he’s too busy working on other productions to come in for recording, not because he’s “too big for small gigs”. For example he was working on Jak II when Battle for Bikini Bottom was being made, so they hired Joe Whyte instead

@LuciLilium thank you sm
As A Fan Of Spongebob, This PC Game gives me Nostalgia from the 2000s.
Who's the barnacle head who invented fire, sting ointment, and ice cream anyway?
You are, Spongebob!
I love the SpongeBob CD rom Games I collected every single one and got them working on the steam deck
Also, when modifying the games to work on the steam deck the lag is completely gone for cut scenes
It's kinda funny how Squidward seems so nice to SpongePaul, yet Sandy is the complete opposite. Y'know, the one who's probably the nicest to SpongeBob?
I have more memories of this than the console version.
Good ol THQ
I remember that popping up whenever I put in a barbie game
@@ms.pirate same tbh had hella barbie games cause of my sisters
9:55 - 10:14 I feel like I should mention that Clancy Brown also reprises his role as Mr. Krabs in the console version of the game as well.
I personally had the gba version and I played the SHIT out of it. I feel like that version doesn’t get as much love really cuz I feel like it’s a hidden gem
I used to play this on my computer all the time back in the day
Yes, but that's THE Golden Caterpillar.
Man I loved playing checkers with old lady
Awesome video, very charming
You have a good narration voice
I am 100% positive they had this game on the DS. In that game, you could play as the main characters in different platforming levels. When you beat the level, the character gets a role in the movie. Because I didn't quite understand, I just played the whole game as Squidward. So Squidward was given all the roles in the movie. XD
I have very faint memories of the early parts of the game
i love this game so much
Clancy brown is in battle for bikini bottom, employee of the month and lights camera pants!.
4:38 He actually reminds me of Gleeman Vox from Ratchet: Deadlocked.
I did a playthrough of this one, great fun!
17:51 I spent way too long clicking on the robot waiter and hearing Spongebob argue that he is not a weenie over and over again as a kid!
Is there any way to get this game running on a modern pc with windows 11? (or 10, since they are mostly similar anyway)
Also, loved the video!
Thank you!! And it works for me on Windows 10. If it doesn’t work for you, you might need to install DirectX. It’ll tell you how to do that during the installation process.
@@lucililium Thank you so much! I didn't actually try it yet just to clarify, because I don't even have a disc drive yet haha
But I know many many people were having troubles with trying to get the pc games running, so I just wanted some clarity before trying. Thank you!!
@@lucililium thanks for the tip, I wanna play my old PC games, and games from Ebay and the thrift store
Wait, Lights, Camera, Pants! is a point and click game on the PC? Well now I want that one.
An old game I used to have lots of memories with but haven’t made a video on star Flyers
Also I had plans for a fanmade 2D point and click version of employee of the month but had to scrap it because of being busy
7:55 Get me a toy like that, oh man. Don't ask why I need this though.
21:15 SpongeBob's got two right hands there!
Sad no one knows about this game 😭 made so much fun memories
I love this game
I do think it’s weird how this game runs cut scenes the reason why the game lags is that instead of downloading the cut scenes to the computer like all the other SpongeBob games to avoid this leg issue the game instead calls on the fly cut scenes from the disc slowing down the process for how the cut scene should run this game to run on the steam deck I took the files from the disc and put them into a makeshift video folder on the computer and the cut scenes didn’t lag at all
