I think you need the actual entrance on the other side. The cars will just bypass this and the people will just be strolling in for free. Make this area by the ferry a little town to grab supplies before heading into the park itself. Maybe add a service entrance via a semi-hidden tunnel off that highway into the town. Another service entrance can over by the far end of the park near the highway.
just use side gates off the service road (for police, fire, health, death, garbage, park maintenance, etc) of the river so people have to go through gates to get to the entertainment stuff
Put a side gate between the parking lots and the ferry landing so people have to pay to enter the park in order to take the ferry
He only problem which that is that they would have to use the ferry to get to the entrance which wouldn’t be ideal.
Put the entrance right before the first ferry, after the parking lot. They park, then walk in and get on the ferry.
Add helicopter fire station for the national park!
Trucks can't get to the stadium area because the route you forced them to take is an Old Town district.
"We got this really interesting part where the bridge is going over the highway and the highway is bridging over another road."
That happens here a lot in America.
I love how massive the national park is! You should do little towns around the edges of it though, or maybe slightly inside, and make the town area not park - I feel like there's a few massive np's like that in Australia?
It's not even that big. In and around Sydney alone there are 7 national parks all at least 3 times as large, the largest being about 50 times as big.
i think the parking should be before the entrance, not after it, at least thats what i saw most often in national parks and stuff
i just get reminded of Algonquin park (Canada) it has a 2 lane highway ripping through it plus multiple camp area's, idk how parks like that are in our places tho...
Does anyone else never skipping the time-lapse?
Timelapses are the best part of his videos1
I don't think anyone skips the time lapses
well I never do
NEVER!
Time lapse has more things done at a fast pace. After the time lapse it feels kinda slow to me.
I think soon you'll want to start planning the urban/commuter rail network to provide more service and reduce the burden on the trams. Plus if you build a rail line from the central station to the national park, you can use the line to develop new suburbs along and add stations, which is quite realistic. Plus of you cram in a train station in the sadium area, you can have it also to the central station and have another branch started.
I think what you should do instead of having the entrance and then the roads go around it tothe parking, is have the parking first and maybe a little town with some commercial buildings, then the entrance by the water. This would work better since they could park then just go through the actual entrance. It would also work better than having the entrance in the other side because you would enter, then take the ferry. But otherwise I think the park is coming along great!
You should place a building and rename it Sedona Embassy if you ever decide to make a government area in the city.
You should really do something about that blank patch of land by the University. How about a baseball field or something?
You can build cable car on the Natl Park to help get around the huge park and specific center of attraction in the park. it should parallel pathway in the park if possible.
sorry but the entrace of the park shouldn't be AFTER the parkings and not before? makes no sense ...
Yes. My thought aswell
567 376 cells. If we consider 1 cell is 10x10 meters then we have 56 737 600 square meters of land. Roughly 57 km2 (or 22 square miles) of land.
Uhm, I *think* it's 5 673 760 sq metres? Which would be 5 673,76 sq km or 2190,65 sq miles. Which sounds more correct when comparing to real world city areas and national parks.
considering that 1 cell (10m x 10m) is 100m^2 the whole nationalpark is ~57 Km^2. In comparison a rather small nationalpark in the middle of germany is about 250 Km^2!
@@cxzact9204
It would be 5,673,760 sq m if one cell was 10 sq m but 10 m x 10 m are actually 100 sq m.
Also 1 km = 1,000 m and 1 sq km = 1000 m × 1000 m = 1,000,000 sq m.
Therefore 56,737,600 sq m or ~56.74 sq km is correct.
Guys ... I'm a math teacher I know how to do this
I thought a cell was 3x3 meters as the first height of a bridge when on lowest elevation step is 3 meteres, so one a cell would be 3x3x3
So a cell is actually 8x8m according to a forum I read, so each cell is 64 m². Convert that to km² and multiply it by 567370 and you get about 36 km².
For reference, Butterleaf National Park in New South Wales is 30 km².
You should move the national park entrance where the mainland ferry stop is, so people can park and then use the gate
The national park can be called, the “Inback National Park”!
MORE LAKES!!!
James, typically parking lots come before park entrances. I suggest you move the entrance across to the other side of the ferry that way you’ll be able to actually use the nature path. Just a suggestion!
I did some strenuous testing which took me about two days or so to test out which one of my ~80 mods caused the game to suffer frame rate issues, and from what I gathered from own experience and from others on the workshop, the three most likely mods to be causing you fps drops, Flab, is:
81 Tiles Mod.
Network Skins.
Prop Line Tool.
Advanced Vehicle Options.
Just thought you should know, and hopefully, this might help! It's a shame that these mods are quite useful, but they do cause issues as of right now. With time, I hope the authors will fix ASAP.
Ed note: Download the Touch This! mod to easier change roads that come built-in with assets. :)
The entrance before the ferry line looks silly, just put the main entrance on the peninsula where the park will be. The high way should directly comes to the ferry and parking area, and transfer our visitors to the peninsula by ferry and then they get the main entrance. And you need multi-main entrances around the national park.
It's roughly 550 hectares/1360 acres/5500km^2/60 million square feet (if we go with a cell being 10m^2)
Also the parking lot area would be a good place for the festival grounds since it feels out of the way, but still urban enough that the traffic should be fine (it would also mean the car parks get filled up)
I think you're missing or adding zeros somewhere.
There's 100 hectares in a km^2. Should be 5700 hectares or 57km^2.
for those tram loops, what might work is: making a piece of road with no middle node, and make it longer and curve it. I believe that those overhead poles are only created on and between the nodes. Right now, you have a LOT of nodes, so that's why there are so many darn overhead thingies. I could be wrong, so try it somewhere else, and if it does work, copy and paste!
You could add a little stream or river along the road through the alley to the entrance and make it really nice with trees and big rocks. The stream could end up in a kind of pond in the ferry area before finally going into the big river. Next to the pond you could add shops and the parking lot. You could move the entrance closer to the ferry maybe
I do love this series, making the national park that size was an awesome idea 💡
Perfect way to start my day
perfect way to end my day😁
Perfect way to procrastinate doing my homework
Flaba Park could be a name and you could have it as a character of the city, like a backstory or the paintings of Jerry in your Sim's builts
the one thing i would change to make the national park ferries work as intended is by doing a small strip of national road (the one way road around the entrance for example) to prevent people from just bypassing your main entrance. then you could also disallow everything but service vehicles so that the ferry stop still works properly.
I’d also do the chair lift in places as a scenic thing
I think you should put then car park road in the valley & attach a path to the entrance at the end of the car park road.
Doing this will mean you could either bring the ferry terminal closer OR move the mountains closer to the ferry terminal.
Place allll the fire towers
And make sure you have a fire and police helicopters near by
I reckon you should make the carpark for the national park gravel. Use surface painter to paint certain car parks.
Add a train/bus/tram service that goes around the national park as an alternative to cars or walking trails!
Its so huge! I would add transport in the park so people can get from one side to the other! But otherwise, what a green city :)
Very little National Park featured in this episode called "National Park" 🤣😂🤣😂
I feel that the parking should come before the entrance gate considering after they park they will have to walk back towards the gate again or it’s a possibility they might be entering the park for free,
Blue Lake National Park would be a good name, since the river kind of makes a lake around the main park land. Also Atherton Nation Forest, would be a good thing as well, maybe on the other side of the bay so you have 2 large areas that you don't really have to build in.
Maybe you should turn off ferry terminals (or train stations or monorail stations etc.) while you are still building the infrastructure to support them. You loose money while they are on and there aren't any routes made yet.
FYI:
Touch This! Tool allows you to change roads that are connected to buildings.
People have to drive past the gate to get to the parking lot. The gate should be by the parking and the ferry.
love all the detailing you did!
that little island out by the sewage pumps would be neat to build a micro town on or something
Use a ferry to get them to the island or close to it then use the newly added tour buses to take them around the park.
A lake! Also, I think you should add a monorail stop at the tram turnaround, maybe even another one further up the line
There needs to be some government buildings in some part of the city, a town hall, oppression office or bank, one of them at least
Name it Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park
So, 1 cell is 10 by 10 meters = 100 m². 567376 cells is 56737600 m² = 56,7376 km² or 21,91 square miles.
It will be awesome if you add Hydropower station in the river.
Assuming that a cell is 10x10 meters your national park is 56737600 square meters, 14,020 acres, 21 square miles, or 610,718,443 square feet. Which measurement you'd prefer
There should be some dirt maintenance roads running through the national park.
People can get into the park for free
Make the ferry go to a road across the water and have the entrance over there
You should do something similar to Yellowstone national park and a lot of national parks in the states and build really little rural towns in the middle of the park
Edit: and a slightly larger small town at the entrances
50th haha never been so soon, James I love the series, you're the best at Cities Skylines in my opinion with a perfect balance of detailing and management :D great work ;)
The asset editor says one cell is 8x8m so 567376x8m² = 36312064m².
36.3km² or 14 square miles or 2% of the Sydney city area or 3% of NYC or 21.7% of the country of Liechtenstein (the city has around 2.7 times as many inhabitants as Liechtenstein)
For some reason I had the speed at 1.25x. Funniest 37 minutes of my life! Also the most adrenalin filled!
How the Hell speed up 37 minute video ended up still 37 minute long?!
Isn’t that service entrance to the stadium district connect to an old town policy district?
I love it
Is it just me or is it also annoying that he bypassed the National Park entrance by going around not through it. Cause they won’t pay for entry
10:32
its does get a little tight errr
but it fits in at the end
thats what she said
I know I'm late, but long live Meadow Meadows!
I think you should do a ferry to the island to the right of the main penninsula
Add two small "old" towns or villages on the peninsula and island, like they are historic towns, e.g. UNESCO status. :)
Yes! So happy
You should start building another little town like a little bit away from the rest of the city
Tile is 8x8m I think (26 ft x 26 ft if you use imperial :p )
also, THAT IS A POND! NOT A LAKE!
WE WANT A LAKE! WE WANT A LAKE!
have an intersection on the highway leading to another entrance of the national park
Hi James! Do you know why whenever i look up the 81 tiles mod on the Steam Workshop, it doesent come up? Please answer its driving me crazy.
16:07-16:15 listen this on 0.25× speed.....i died laughing...so hilarious 😂😂😂
I've never been on a tram before. Is it realistic to have a tram bridge? Obviously it's a game so it doesn't matter but I was just curious
Looks great! People should not be allow to use their pocket car in the park only public transportation. You can do really scenic train lines, cable car or even buses.
there is a road in the back of park entrance!
Move the entrance to the other side of parking.
why do u only use a380's as the aircraft that go to your airport
Have
A N A W E S O M E D A Y
Clicking! Change mouse sensitivity?
Finally!!! Cities!!!!
Are you going to play tropico 6?
reminds me to start the trek..
buy hiking sticka
Large National Parks are fine look at Yellowstone for example.
Yellowstone would be well over150 times as big. James park really isn't that large.
I think you need more lakes
I like Marshmeadow Meadows
100 000!!! Population!!!
The national park is roughly 6000 kilometers sqr
james and his stomach noises
Hi James my husband wants to know where did you get the airport
It was either added free to the base game or with one of the early expansions.
can you do a sandbox planet coaster let's play
Name the cape hornets nest or hornets cape
Build a Housing area for rich people
A cell is 8 X 8 meters.
I read the title as national park life
