The freedom discussed here is a high level of freedom.
In some nations, the freedom is more humble to be the "freedom of movement" in term of person and money.
Even watching TED in youtube is a privilege but not a necessity!
Freedom just like air, when you have it > you don't feel it. Once you miss it, you will instantly feel it. So treasures your freedom
By the way, there are external freedom (discussed in this video) and internal freedom (not being discussed in this video > mind) too.

She is now bound to her new idea of freedom. And it goes on until you run out of ideas.
It is so subtle, the actual freedom that only a sensitive mind is capable of understanding. Freedom is nothing most of us 99.9% know of. We think to have freedom is to do what we like. We think to have freedom is to have choices. No. Freedom is choicelessnes. Weird, right? There is only one right action. To have choices is to have confusion and conflicts in the brain. Only a complete silent mind free to observe is capable of observing what is, the fact, and out of that pure observation comes the right action. Attention, your complete attention is what is needed. Attention is like a flame which burns all that is unnecessary. The only action. Its far from an ordinary mind. By ordinary mind I mean a mind which is so conditioned that its not open to accept new ideas. Because whatever we think that its my personal thought of freedom or my own idea of freedom is not your personal. It seems to be so. Its an illusion. All the ideas are borrowed. Look deeply, carefully and observe. The only way out is J Krishnamurthy. And nothing else. 🙏

Brilliant talk by one of the most inspiring women I have the privilege of knowing. Trail blazing for millions of us who have been trapped in corporate 9-5 jobs. Natalie is a true professional who has been so consistent in her mission to help others achieve what she has managed to do for herself, which is to run her business while enjoying a location-independent lifestyle. A woman to watch. Well done Natalie! XX

Jenny Plant I'm sorry but you say that she runs her own business and that gives her freedom.
It seems to me that it was because she had other people doing the work for her that allowed her to do what she wanted with her time.
So in essence other people are running the business for her. Which is fine and I commend her for her accomplishment.
Yet she is telling people that if they do the same then they too can be free as per their own definition of freedom.
Sounds nice but in reality not everyone can have freedom following her recommendation as someone has to do the work.
If everyone expected others to run their business for them then no work would be getting done and the entire business economy would implode.
I'm glad she is gaining recognition though. To which I'm sure being privileged enough to be selected to be a Ted speaker is helping her business nicely as well. Good for her but not everyone can do as she suggests here!

Oh, I can answer that question easily. If I were king of the world, I would immediately demand that we all think about what is needed so that we can make this world a better place.
All trivial needs that we might espouse would be non-grata, because our own trivial needs would pale in comparison to what our world needs...for us to survive as a race and as humanity.

I'm sorry but what she describes is not freedom. It's individual independence.
The only way Freedom can be discussed is when referring to all people. Unless every individual has it then nobody is free.
What she describes is having machines(automation) and people doing the work for her so she can do as she pleases with her time!
'Freedom Business' is a contradiction and a falacy of a term.

Once again, an excellent message that resonates with many who are not only in search of freedom, but what it means to them. The point you made about how one's definition of freedom can change as circumstances do was particularly informative. This is another way to be free-to create a lifestyle which provides the flexibility to take advantage of opportunities, or to adjust a previous notion or decision to fit our current situation.

This is not freedom, it's the choice to abandon responsibility and make others do it for you. Although what she said was influential ultimately its not necessarily being free. Then again freedom is a malleable definition. At least for me, freedom is the abandonment of the chains that bind our minds, body's, and souls. We've been put in this existence for what purpose? Unknown that is, yet we serve others how does that make sense if our purpose was never truly defined. Personally, my definition of freedom is to be anything and everything, no limitations on where, who, what, why, how you are supposed, say, act, and do things.

Was also wondering why you were raising money for charity when you had little yourself. But I love the process of discovery through following your desires

Glad she found her calling. She deserves everything she's done for herself. Possessions are certainly overrated and I like her adventurous spirit. That said, moving about is easier if you have no one else dependent on you (partner, children, parents). I have those encumbrances...and wouldn't change them for all the money bloggers make. Do you know the history of a person that has a famous building or boulevard named after her or him?
(Likely no). Procreating and raising the next generation is the only true path to immortality---they, and their descendants, are there impacting the world long after you're gone...

Unfortunately, this cannot happen to all individuals. Maybe you are indeed an inspiring personality and you are still doing well...but nobody is totally FREE unless he or she gets rid of technology (at least as a way of making a profit) and come back to THE natural way of life, which is being close to nature and indulging in lovable hobbies, (tech-free and stress-free), something that we used to do in the past...! way before technology was invented...I wish you all the best!

Freedom is an ILLUSION!!! Even the perceived GOD or creator of existence could not be free. At the EXACT moment of causation GOD would become obligated to this creation to be the very BEST possible version of that God in order to achieve the BEST possible results from that creation. So really NOTHING can be 100% free lol remember absolute freedom equals uncontrolled chaos but limited parameters and preset laws equal harmony and order. Now it's obvious to see which one governs THIS reality lol

But isn't going getting a bunch of people working in teams... it is true freedom if you're enforcing the same system that was forced onto you? also, where is privilege in the stratosphere of the world? people come from different places, what about those are from third world countries and come from conditions that are limiting, this ted talk although interesting was incredibly problematic in the sense that it reiterates the ideals of those who come from privilege as well as create a false utopia that people mistakenly fall for all the time...

Only to a limited degree, IMO. We can choose to override certain impulses or attitudes we know would hurt others when there's no justification for hurting them? As for freedom, there's also the freedom to commit vandalism and worst - EVERY kind of worse you can imagine, and I mean EVERY. For this reason, I put human dignity above freedom. Freedom's important ONLY to the extent that it isn't used to hurt, harm, or demean the dignity of others outside the scope of defense, retaliation, or punishment (reasonable and proportionate degrees of the latter three, of course). Otherwise we'd have dangerous chaos, not even a society at all.
