Bricky spinning is not a good trick, dodge the missiles by flying the opposite direction of the missile lock indicator, hard and sharp turns will throw them off
I still want to know what all was offered at the end of the last mission. What was so alluring that got them to stay and commit to this war to secure it? "No one should have that power" Really sounds like some Cordium stuff. Low and slow means you can be precise in your shots. And lower and slower planes being harder to hit has actual historical precedent. With gun sights being calibrated for faster and more then modern planes, old biplanes like the British Swordfish and the antiques being used by the Night Witches were a lot harder to target accurately. This would also happen in Vietnam with OV-10 Broncos and A--37 Dragonfly's being missed since the people shooting were aiming based on the faster jets starting to show up with regularity. Additionally, the thin canvas of the biplanes meant that then modern AA shells designed to detonate on metal hulls of tougher monoplanes would punch clean through without detonating. You heard them, they called it a land battleship. What else would a mobile heavy gun platform that big look like? Granted, you killing them so fast is arguably a moment of, to quote the tvtropes page, "Reality Ensues." Any such platform would realistically be very hard to protect from air attacks. And these were abandoned prototypes. So the Calamity hasn't been fully reborn, it it was a close call, and will take some time to recover from. Still, as long as nobody fires at cordium rich former volcanoes with refined cordium tipped warheads, this is something the Pacific Rim can bounce back from, even Cascadia. I think I heard it was more orange before a patch. Not just Mr. Mald, but Mr. projection. He said "they always return to the scene of the crime," despite itt being Federation officers who unleashed this horror upon the world and got lucky that it didn't burn everything they had. Really got to work on your maneuvering. Well Armored Core is coming back, is that exciting for you? Handout nothing, you hypocrite, carrying a war on one's back is hard work! Game's not over yet, so we'll see if this is his Joker moment. Even after all this and being lava nuked, the Cascadian fleet commander is offering a way out to his enemy? Now THAT is unrealistic. In a good way. I'm guessing the VF-23 is based on the YF-23 working prototype that was beat out by the YF-22, which became the F-22 Raptor. the 23's prototypes' nicknames were Gray Ghost and Black Widow II. Better speed and stealth but less agility compared to the Raptor. If the Wikipedia entry can be believed. So yes, a VERY formidable plane. It was a competitor for the slot taken by our BEST air superiority fighter. When you're trying to make a fan version of Ace Combat, you DO need the composer to go that hard. Or harder. I mean, for a disgraced Senator's son in a business where you're a hired gun of some sort, diplomat could be seen as a mocking callsign. And if Monarch really is named after a Butterfly, that's also a bit of an inside joke. Crimson, so late the war is on cooldown. Also bringing not just a few massive war crimes, but risking an apocalypse 2, war triggered boogaloo.
In name, the VX-23 seems to be based on the YF-23, but in terms of its design it seems to be a mix of the Chinese J-20 and American F-22 what with the canards of the J-20 and the thrust-vectoring nozzles that look exactly like the F-22’s.
I'd wager the Deal was that Cascadia was either giving land to Sicario and mercenaries in general or is going to make Cascadia into Outer Heaven for all intents and purposes. A nation of mercenaries and soldiers. Something Kaiser clearly dreamed of having despite never thinking it'd ever happen after the Oceanian War. And Prez telling Monarch she didn't like it as it was too much power. She doesn't seem like someone who'd like being one of the lieutenants running a nation and being responsible for millions of people. And Crimson 1 argues the fight is now for the soul of Cascadia, he seems to know about the Deal and it's very clear he DOES NOT want mercenaries either owning or running Cascadia.
i think we should cut him some slack. i was also left confused and disoriented when that nuclear flashbang happened on stream, and anyone who came in blind into that mission would likely not be prepared to have their retinas burned.
