One if my fave horror movies. Isolated small town, no sunlight, COLD AF, a cabal of vampires coming to juice box you. I cant believe my parents let me watch this as young as i did lol
Yeah, it kinda reminded me of the board game Dead of Winter in the best of ways. They should REALLY make a movie out of that game. The same things apply; frostbite can be the end of one of your survivors just as easily as a zombie bite.
*"...vampires coming to juice box you"* had me cryin', 🤣. My stoopyd a** started imagining humans gettin' an orange straw poked through their neck, and squeezed like a Capri Sun.

I actually like the way they dealt with stranger. He was a broken man and even if they let him loose, I think he would have done anything to further help vampires.
Only because he wants to be a vampire that's why he was helping them in hopes of earning their favor but Marlo made it clear that they aren't allowing any new members in their club.

@corymorse4271 really? I'm not arguing with you, but on the DVD, I thought the director had said they looked at shark attacks and feeding frenzies. It's been a while since I watched the movie, so maybe that was the makeup design. Sharks, birds, coyotes, or wolves, they're still very animalistic in their hunting.
@jmgfx4161 I can't lie, it's been a while since I saw the extras as well but I recall the feature covering the vampires talking about birds as a major influence, especially in their pack behavior. I definitely see the shark aesthetic as well in their black eyes and pallid skin.
I saw this in theaters back when it came out..yeah im old. It's definitely one of the best horror movies ive ever seen. The vampires are actually terrifying which cant really be said for any other movie.
Yeah, very few other movies have vampires that are as scary as this one. The vampire in "The Last Voyage of the Demeter" is also really terrifying as well.
This movie was a great new take on vampires. I love the book and my biggest gripes with the movie vs the book was that they created a relationship issue between Eben and Stella when in the book they were the law enforcement team with no other relatives and were strongly in love. It made Eben sacrifice at the end more heartbreaking then what they did in the movie. That loving relationship was the core of the book. They also expanded on the vampires society in the book that could have lead to more in a movie series but they did not include it. Great re-review.
@@StLProgressivenot a book exactly, it’s a three-issue graphic novel. There are sequel graphic novels but the movie was based on the first series. Main difference, if I recall, is (SPOILERS) the vampires that went to Barrow were functionally rebellious teenagers, wanting to exploit the long night, and were stopped in the end by vampire elders who thought eating an entire town would draw too much attention.
I love Ben Templesmith illustrated comics books. They have a very dark and unique feeling to them. You can tell a Templesmith illustrated book as soon as you see it. And Steve Niles is a great writer.
Watched this movie with my dad when i was like 6 years old. This movie gave me nightmares and was honestly one of the best childhood trauma pieces of media in my life. Now when i watch it it takes me back and makes me feel good even if that sounds weird as vampires massacrer innocents in the movie. Fond memories.
@@sifuhotman8595 like i said, it is childhood trauma brought fourth from my dad. I had nightmares of this shit and was scared of the dark for a long time😂. Now its all a good memory i had with my dad as he passed away when i was 15. Childhood trauma? yeah it is. Although now when i watch it i remember those times when i watched it with my dad when i was younger. It was the first scary movie my dad ever let me watch. Now to me its a great piece of art and my favorite portrayal of vampires
30 Days of Night is such a great survival horror movie, it introduced us to a town full of friendly townspeople that all have a bond with each other because of all the years they dwelled in the town together, and the movie did a pretty good job of establishing some of the townspeople that pushed forward to survive, and it also does a good job of making us the audience care about each of the survivors, they don’t end up being the cliche nameless fodder for the vampires. The Vampires are very terrifyingly smart and very brutal and cruel to the townspeople that they are all preying on, they just want to feast on who they can, while they can, and they make sure that their victims don’t turn into vampires by viciously decapitating, mutilating, or burning them after feasting on their blood. Marlo seems to be a strong tribal type of leader to his Vampire Army, and he probably only decides to turn somebody and welcome them into his army if they earn his respect and he trusts them to be a new vital element to his army. Eban is a great main character and leader to the group of survivors that he promised to protect and hopefully survive til the sun rises. Josh Hartnett played the role very good and you really felt for his character because of all the tough quick decisions that he always had to make in order to keep himself and the group of survivors breathing for another harshly cold night.
Ebon, as in ebony, means black or night. Stella is short for stellar, sun/star/light. That's really good naming because on one hand this hints at the plot of the film, which lives and which dies, but in a way it also does explain your question of why they're separated. They are opposites, even if they do love each other.
The stranger is what is known as a familiar. They can move in the human world and the daytime, so are valuable to vampires, and familiars are 100% faithfully dedicated to the owner(vampire) and will never betray them no matter what happens.
@@TwistedTeaRex Sort of but the familiar is 100% willing to be of any service to the master/vampire, with its only wish to become a vampire themselves. They work towards this by being as good of a familiar as they possibly can, proving their worthiness of becoming one of them. Those that fail, especially more than once or show poor worthiness will only end up being used and never turned and will almost always end with their death. The familiar isn't so much a slave as more of a willing volunteer. Less so a servant and more a tutor in a sense. Devotion and obedience yes, but with a reward of eternal "life" as the ultimate goal.
@@TwistedTeaRex Typically a vampire clan will have one or sometimes two familiars, whereas a solitary vampire without a clan will have their own personal familiar. Each clan has its own hierarchy. The larger the clan, the deeper the hierarchy, the more familiars there will be. Think of a familiar more like an extremely motivated assistant, learning more and more as it goes to be a better assistant, evolving to hopefully one day earn the honor to be turned. Often familiars are used as blood bags as a sign of supplication and dedication. In some lore a familiar can be partially turned at some point during their training so they have heightened strength, night vision, or other abilities that vampires posses, but not as strong or as much. This way they can serve their masters better than an average human and its a sign they have reached a milestone in their training. A level they have achieved.
@@criticalcommenter Obviously i'm talking about vampire lore. Never said i was an expert. A common theme in most vampire books and media is that familiar is what i'm talking about. It may not be specifically stated every time, but its common enough to be a standard of practice.
I don't normally do horror, but certain films "do it" for me. I took a chance on this with little hope, but it was great. Same with another movie, Dog Soldiers. One of my fave horrors of all time. Sometimes great movies just don't get traction and proves it's worth taking a chance. Great take mate, great content. Subbed and currently looking through your other uploads. Thank you
It amazes me that someone could know about vampires and not recognize a Renfield type of character. I've always thought of Renfield as being a on par with Dracula in vampire lose. ANY human who is working with vampires in a movie or story should immediately be considered a Renfield until proven otherwise. The thing they want is immortality. That's why they suck up to vampires. I agree that these vampires are good ones. They are animalistic but they aren't dumb animals.
Personally, I liked the direction the mini short prequels took with the setting being in the city. That was a more interesting take than the actual movie to me. The overhead shots of the first vampire attack in the movie are some of my favorite shots of any horror movie.
The comic book was so beautifully petrifying in its art. The movie did justice to it with the medium it had, but I so much love the art of the graphic novella. Thanks for this one.
That would be Ben Templesmith artwork. His work is very distinctive. It's very dark. He almost always illustrates horror comics. You can recognize one of his comics as soon as you see it. The first book I bought of his was called Welcome to Hoxford. It's similar to 30 Days of Night in that it involves horror creatures trying to use an environment to exploit for feeding. In Welcome to Hoxford, a Russian organization owned by Werewolves runs privately owned maximum security prisons, which hold the most dangerous prisoners. They use it as a hunting preserve because they enjoy hunting dangerous game. It's really good!
Read the comic and saw the movie 3 times in a row during opening weekend. It has everything I love about classic vampires. Blood sucking, soulless, evil, smelly vampires. I am so happy this movie got made. Just peak horror perfection for me.
You missed a crucial part where Harlow scolds one of his vampires by saying ' how did you ever survive the crusades' which means they are thousands of years old.
Such an underrated movie. This should have be one of the first movies people bring up when they talk modern vampire movies. To get answers to your questions at the end, they are explained in much more detail in the graphic novels.
The little girl Stella saves at the end is seen around the beginning of the movie, in town when people are seen leaving. The movie is fantastic, and Ben Foster as The Stranger was brilliant. I do wish there was a bit more of him before the attack, but what we did get was perfect so I'm torn.
Ah, you are right, outside by the truck with the family packing to leave, I totally forgot about that scene with her in it and I have seen this film a thousand times! 🤷🏼♀️ Cheers
I remember seeing this when it came out and my friends dad that went with us only had one complaint as a joke. "Why was there only one damn fire axe in the whole town?"
Definitely one of my fav vampire movies because they are the monsters they suppose to be but still with culture & history & lore. Like you said so much going on in the town & the layers. Billy definitely was a shock I wasn’t ready for. I wish they did more with the stranger as well & I was always mad at Stella for saving that kid forcing Evan to turn. Great review!
Dark Days was truly awful, but I didn't know there was a 3rd installment in the series, so I'll definitely give it a look if I can find it on a streaming platform.
I think the perfect representation of a vampire unites the image of the beast with the image of beauty. Christopher Lee expresses this perfectly. Although this film only presents the side of the beast, one detail caught my attention in this film: the emotional relationship between the vampire leader and his partner. I really enjoyed your video.
Great channel !! The little girl was actually in the background of the scene Hartnett is driving through town warning people to go inside. Another fun fact Melissa George was offered to return but rumor has it she wasn’t interested after reading horrendous script for the straight to video film plus she had better things in the works .
One of my favourites! The only thing is I wish they made it into a series, like 10 episodes that are about 40 minutes to an hour each. It'd make much more use of the 30 Days without having to jump ahead weeks at a time, and it would show how the characters managed to keep going during those time jumps. Plus, more time with the characters and vampires Again, still one of my favourite movies, but I think it'd have been even better as a series
I watched this movie as a kid living in Anchorage, Alaska and even though it's much more south than Barrow, I still grew to have a fear of vampires. It was only as an adult that I shook that fear in exchange for gaining a fear of moose.
I have heard that moose are some of the most dangerous animals in the north, along with polar bears. Moose are big, and extremely dumb, and they can be very aggressive.
When I first saw this movie, it was a version that didnt have captions for the vampire language, and honestly it was so much scarier. You could tell what they were saying for the most part by body language and action so you knew they were smart. And when Marlo goes "no god" straight chills
I was thinking that too. To Typewriter's point, I'd say there's a good chance the returning townsfolk would believe them. The vampires could've removed the body parts, some of the blood and what not, but no way they'd remove all of it. Even with a blizzard and burning down the town, there would most definitely be blood splatters and human insides sprayed on walls and buried under the snow. Also, ya know, the fact that the population went from 152 to like 12, I'd imagine it wasn't the work of a would-be serial killer.
One of the best films of the genre. The vampire portrayed the way they _should_ be. Shot really well, too. Looks great. Danny Huston as Marlow steals the show. Loved their invented language. Avoid the sequel at all costs. It's total dogsh!t.
I am still in absolute dismayed shock at how criminally and unjustly underrated this movie is on Rotten Tomatoes, IMDb, etc. I just can't wrap my head around it. This is the single best vampire film l have ever seen, one of the finest horror films ever made, and, genres aside, an exceptionally well done piece of cinema in its own right.
This is by far one of my favorite movies of all time and one of my favorite vampire films of all time, when I saw the notification pop up that you made this video about it I honestly gasped and was very excited so now that I'm finally watching it I am very excited to see what you have to say about this film and I'm going to probably be watching it pretty soon again as well because around this time is when is the perfect time watch this film
I really enjoyed this movie, and i'm very critical of vampire movies. The tattoo on the little girl was an industrial band tattoo(einsterzende neubaten). I also enjoyed the vampire movie called Priest.
Me (Newly Vampire'd): "Ssheeesh bok, derp heeets prapoots! Mageesh, jabreks. Poots!" Vampire: ".... Bro, we have to teach you our language. You don't just immediately know it." Me: "Oh.."
Love this movie and this was a great review. I always thought that Stella lost a kid due to miscarriage and that's what made them split up and made her so protective of the girl at the end.
Would it sound ridiculous if I wanted a prequel to 30 days & how Marlo & his kin became vampires? They're pretty selective about who becomes a vampire.
100% agree with all your takes laid out in the vid, greatly enjoyed watching. I remember when it first came out when I was a kid and I'm glad this was the first "vampire movie of my generation" that I watched and not some of the other options that were around in the mid 00's
I saw Louis Jordan play Dracula in a BBC tv special that was on CBC around 1977 and I was mesmerized, there have been several permutations of the genre over the years and 30 Days Of Night is one of my favourite because number one the vampires were absolutely ruthless and bloodmad and second I was born in Inuvik a few hundred miles north of the arctic circle and I remember the endless nights...
The only movie that has ever made me afraid of vampires. Ive never feared the idea of a guy who I can shank with a sharp stick 50 times. However this movie? Damn. It uses the elements of it's setting and the danger of these creatures made me feel feel when I stepped outside with my dog after watching this at 11pm and stepped out at 2 am. The People showing real decisions makes it even more terrifying. They don't do the dumb garbage you see in zombie or horror movies where everyone stands there and does nothing or dont even fight back. No. These people fight for their lives and Lose. They don't lose because they all make stupid decisions no one would ever make. No they try everything you can do and it fails over and over. This is what I thought a vampire would be like. Movies like blade and twilight made them more of a joke. Just something to shoot at in the movies.
16:34 But the thing is, polar night doesn't mean pitch blackness portrayed in the film, at least not in the latitude of Barrow. Even during the winter solstice, some sunlight will be visible because of refraction, even if the sun doesn't rise above the horizon. I don't know if it's clearly established how resistant to the UV light the vampires supposed to be, but what I have gathered, it would be relatively safe to wander around during noon time, especially at the beginning and at the end of the period.
7:13 That was such a brilliant and underrated shot in this movie. The aerial view of the destruction of the town really captured the terrifying essence the towns people were going through in that moment. 🙌
30 days of night was a gem! It’s up there for top 5 vampire movies for me. Lost boys, fright night, dusk till dawn, blade and 30 days of night! But there’s too many good ones! Bram stokers, underworld, priest, mid night mass, the last voyage of the Demeter, and the original of course! lol
New Sub! Great video, and loved your Star Wars prequel video. And I couldn't agree more about this film being underrated. I re watched it not to long ago and completely forgot Ben Foster was the Stranger. He is a silent killer that guy. One of the most captivating actors working today.
I downloaded this movie like 2 years after it came out and the subtitles for the vampires were not included. This made them feel more mysterious and made the moment when the leader speaks english like 10X more impactful! I still get goosebumps thinking about it.
Josh Hartnett was like, my main crush growing up. And Orlando Bloom, but Josh Hartnett was my friggin MAN and hes the only reason why I could even get through the movie, and then I had nightmares for years lol
Me too! I had a huge crush on Orlando Bloom as a young teen since Lord Of The Rings and later Pirates Of The Caribbean. I like his performance in Troja and Kingdom Of Heaven as well. Compared to Orlando I never had a huge crush on Josh but I did like him particularly after Pearl Harbour. Fun fact they're both in the same movie - Black Hawk Down but Orlando gets injured early on so his appearance is rather short.
It's almost a cosmic horror story really, the perspective of the vampires is alien, not merely like that if a conventional predator, like technically humans are predators as well, but the blood lust and inconsistent focus (despite intelligent and careful leadership) they seem to have is almost spiritual, rather than merely sadistic. They don't really seem to fully understand humans anymore, and that's not a new trope by any means, but I do think this film revived it beautifully. Like, it's not a plot hole that the vampires neglected to look in the attic even after dude and his son came out of the house, it's just a result of the vampires developing a new fixation and completely forgetting that they must have been hiding in an attic... And there might be others as well. They also never found Billy despite several instances on film where they are searching what appears to be the same area multiple times throughout the month. Never thought to create traps more elaborate than baiting the survivors into the open, even though they are clearly intelligent, their priorities are seemingly not what one would expect from a mere "monster". When he says "No God." It sounds almost like Nyarlathotep itself is speaking, mockingly, to the poor woman, a cold statement of fact, born not from malice, but from knowledge. And that is the soil from which cosmic horror is grown.
Vampires and more specifically zombies always suffer for me if they have a clear weakness, zombies generally arent scary at all because everyone insists on giving them a headshot one hit kill weakness, but the vampires in this movie having almost no weakness and being nearly impossible to kill just makes them so much more terrifying. Theres a fine line between Lost Boys vampire hunting and trying to fight a tornado, these vampires are like a natural disaster, the only thing you can do is hide but you're still never safe. This also makes Ebens decision to infect himself have way more meaning than just a power up, hes essentially killing himself the moment he infects himself, the movie gets all the credit for fully killing him instead of putting him in a basement and trying to find a cure. On a somewhat related note I actually liked the Welcome To Raccoon City movie because the zombies were more like the ones in the video games, not the other movies, the mansion scenes in that movie actually scared me, which no zombie movie has ever done.
Funny you say that, for me zombie aren't scary for the fact they are easy to kill, they terrify me as an endless horde, no matter how far you run how fast they just keep coming (28days later style zombies / wwz) there is no stopping the endless wave. That's what scares me lol.
This movie gave me so many nightmares when I was pregnant about 15 years ago. I worked at a movie theater and after my shift, some coworkers and I decided to stay and watch the movie. I did, and then after that I stayed scared for years lol. I was like wow okay this is what real vampires would be like, and this is actually really terrifying. And when youre pregnant, you have absolutely crazy dreams, and I had the most insane dreams the entire 6 months after I saw it. And during the evening when I'd be walking my dog, I'd see these silhouettes on the rooftops and freak myself out because I wouldn't even be thinking about it but then it would pop up subconsciously. It was terrifying lol. I still cant watch it. I tried about 10 years ago and bought the movie and didnt get through it and tried again a few years after that and just was like, nope, it's never gonna happen, stop trying to make fetch happen! I don't have any problem with scary movies, it's just this one. I can watch just about anything thats supposed to be scary, but for some reason I just can't get through this movie again. They scared the hell out of me and just thinking about it makes me want to pull my feet up from the floor and get under a blanket. But I saw this video and I was like oh this is different, its not the movie lol. And I still had to stop it. I watched the special features on the dvd over and over and laughed at it and then turn the movie on and have so much anxiety and tension lol. And nightmares. Literally nothing else scares me like this does. I had a dream about the movie when I worked there before I even saw the movie, about the main girl and I in a truck and it crashing, and then watched the movie and the truck crashed. I was like 3 months pregnant and woke up convinced I was going to die by vampire attack in a truck with the girl from Blood & Chocolate 😂 absolutely insane time of my life. I spent the entire pregnancy with nightmares and vampires, which is absolutely crazy for me. I can usually get out of those types of dreams, and go lucid, but I'd be stuck in them and they'd be soo real. Like getting grabbed outside walking my dog and being pulled over the bricks or under the car or under the fence. The truck crash was weird, I figure I'd seen that part somehow before watching it and dreamed it, so when I saw that part the deja vu made me panic in mu seat. Absolutely insane lol. I havent thought about this movie in a few years, so here it all comes 😂
Terrific vampire movie! Especially because of the monsters' design and the little lore you pick up through the narrative. I'm also a big Josh Hartnett fan, and I write stories about vampires...and they're definitely not nice!
That’s actually a very interesting question. I think even the group at their peak (circa S5/6) would have some difficulty, but would ultimately come out on top after adjusting their tactics. If we’re talking the group at the beginning, I think we’d see more or less the same story from the show but under different circumstances because of a vastly different enemy.
@@thethriftytypewriter It would have been interesting to have had this movie play with a similar concept to TWD where the characters in the movie have no idea what vampires are as they’ve never existed in media or history before in their universe

I definitely see the shark aesthetic as well in their black eyes and pallid skin.
@@corymorse4271 yeah. I can see how birds would influence their hunting skills. They are vulture-esq.
"that cold ain't the weather, that's death approaching" great line.
Saw it in the cinema too...started off rooting for the townsfolk, ended up rooting for the vamps!
Seeing this when it came out doesn't make you old. I was in my mid twenties when it came out and I don't think of myself as old.
I thought queen of the damned did equally well otherwise interview with a vampire or the blade movies
That doesn’t mean you’re old. Is this a joke?
I really enjoyed this one. The long shot of main street being fully, openly attacked is one of my favorites in the genre.
I didn’t realize this was an adaptation. I’ll have to check out the book.
@@StLProgressivenot a book exactly, it’s a three-issue graphic novel. There are sequel graphic novels but the movie was based on the first series.
Main difference, if I recall, is (SPOILERS)
the vampires that went to Barrow were functionally rebellious teenagers, wanting to exploit the long night, and were stopped in the end by vampire elders who thought eating an entire town would draw too much attention.

Although now when i watch it i remember those times when i watched it with my dad when i was younger. It was the first scary movie my dad ever let me watch.
Wow
It's EBEN
The stranger is what is known as a familiar. They can move in the human world and the daytime, so are valuable to vampires, and familiars are 100% faithfully dedicated to the owner(vampire) and will never betray them no matter what happens.
The word "Thrall" comes to mind.
@@justsomedudeyouknow8372it's pretend. The rules change depending on the writer. You're talking like you know this for a fact lol
Thank you
Dog Soldiers is an absolute gem of a film. 👍
Isn’t it called a “familiar” in vampire lore?
@tomharper8351 depends on the lore. In WoD they're called Ghouls
I have heard them referred to as Thralls.
@@tomharper8351 familiars pr sometimes slaves who have been stained washed into wanting to be vampires
Personally, I liked the direction the mini short prequels took with the setting being in the city. That was a more interesting take than the actual movie to me. The overhead shots of the first vampire attack in the movie are some of my favorite shots of any horror movie.
In the graphic novel, it's the other way around - Eben wanted to have kids, whereas Stella didn't, which was the cause of their rift and separation.
This was the vibe I got from the movie tbh.

You missed a crucial part where Harlow scolds one of his vampires by saying ' how did you ever survive the crusades' which means they are thousands of years old.
the crusades were not a full thousand years ago
Well in reality it only implies that they are at least 700 years old. Not thousands.

Such an underrated movie. This should have be one of the first movies people bring up when they talk modern vampire movies. To get answers to your questions at the end, they are explained in much more detail in the graphic novels.
The stranger being played by Ben Foster absolutely could've been used more, Foster is such a talented actor

I remember seeing this when it came out and my friends dad that went with us only had one complaint as a joke. "Why was there only one damn fire axe in the whole town?"
Really loved this movie.
Plus Josh Hartnett is never bad to see 😅 Penny Dreadful anyone?!
Penny Dreadful was great. I don't know if it got cancelled or just ended but it should've been longer
He's such a babe. Loved him with Aaron Paul in the newest black mirror season absolutely haunting episode
Josh is one of my favorite actor, loved penny dreadful but ending was disappointing
I have loved Hartnett ever since I first saw him in Pearl Harbor
Loved Penny Dreadful, except the 2nd half of the last season. Ugh. The rest was brilliant. 🖤
My absolute favorite vampire movie!!! The beheading scenes are way too realistic. I love the mystery in the beginning it builds dread amazingly
Cold atmosphere in this movie is on The Thing level. Brilliant horror. And the best vampire representation ever.
I can’t be the only one who remembers “30 days of night: Dust to Dust”. That one is way better than “Dark Days” . You gotta try to find that one
Ya know things are grim when you can't find something on the TOZ sites...

One of the saddest and uncomfortable horror films I’ve ever watched 😮😢 truly brilliant
One of my favourites! The only thing is I wish they made it into a series, like 10 episodes that are about 40 minutes to an hour each. It'd make much more use of the 30 Days without having to jump ahead weeks at a time, and it would show how the characters managed to keep going during those time jumps. Plus, more time with the characters and vampires
Again, still one of my favourite movies, but I think it'd have been even better as a series
I always wondered how the other 400 people in the town who left for the month react in their return
"God? No God." My favorite scene!
Do you believe in God
One of the best films of the genre. The vampire portrayed the way they _should_ be. Shot really well, too. Looks great. Danny Huston as Marlow steals the show. Loved their invented language.
Avoid the sequel at all costs. It's total dogsh!t.
Hard to believe it’s the same actor from Idiocracy!🤪 Danny Huston is fantastic.

Great review, one of my favorite movies. Midnight Mass is also a great view of vampire lore. 😊
That's not ridiculous at all. That sounds like an awesome concept.
100% agree with all your takes laid out in the vid, greatly enjoyed watching. I remember when it first came out when I was a kid and I'm glad this was the first "vampire movie of my generation" that I watched and not some of the other options that were around in the mid 00's
Not big on most vampire movies. This one is actually scary, and I have watched it many times.
Met Josh Hartnet when i worked at Walgreens in highschool in Minnesota, cool Guy very humble, still one of the scariest vamp fpicks in recent years.
Direct sunlight is usually their true weakness

Insane how great this movie is and how unappreciated it is, this thing does vampires in a "different light" and it just works
Daylight was a pretty good vampire flick too
I downloaded this movie like 2 years after it came out and the subtitles for the vampires were not included.
I loved the roughneck mechanic in this movie, and was hoping we got more out of him.
There was a film a while back called The Night Flier. It has a really unique take on the vampire figure.
That was a Stephen King story.
The girl's tattoo is the symbol/logo of the German 80's/goth band Einstürzende Neubauten.
I have seen it in many movies.

This movie reminds me of The Thing and I absolutely love both these movies.

You need to check out "Blood Red Sky". It feels like another vampire story that would take place in this universe.

Terrific vampire movie! Especially because of the monsters' design and the little lore you pick up through the narrative. I'm also a big Josh Hartnett fan, and I write stories about vampires...and they're definitely not nice!
How would Rick and the group do against this same group of Vampires, same circumstances, same town?
That’s actually a very interesting question. I think even the group at their peak (circa S5/6) would have some difficulty, but would ultimately come out on top after adjusting their tactics. If we’re talking the group at the beginning, I think we’d see more or less the same story from the show but under different circumstances because of a vastly different enemy.
@@thethriftytypewriter It would have been interesting to have had this movie play with a similar concept to TWD where the characters in the movie have no idea what vampires are as they’ve never existed in media or history before in their universe
