- Nursing injured wildlife back to health! This wild raccoon was drinking from a straw! We found him a good wildlife rescue home!!
How we got here:
Working late I heard this strange animal sound. Thought maybe one of the local cats was hurt. I did not expect to walk up to this encounter… Predator left the baby when I approached. I thought he for sure was dead! Once I got closer I saw he was barely moving. I knew if I left him the predator would be back to finish what it started.
Grabbing the only large solid container I could find and a pair of thick gloves in case it tried to defend itself. I went back and got the little baby.
Now 4 a clock here we sit in my shop. It is barely clinging to life. I called animal services and they don’t care.
So you tell me what do I do?
**UPDATE** No one would come and help him. I guess no one likes raccoons… So I’ve kept him in the shop all day and he just started drinking some water and eating a tiny bit of food.
We will see if any of the animal rescue places call me tomorrow.
I don’t know the extent of his injuries. I haven’t seen him stand on all four legs yet but he has at least sat up now. Hopefully tomorrow he’s feeling even better and we can find somewhere for him to go. Or just wait until he can walk on his own again and I’ll let him go.

Please keep us updated on the recovery of this little one. 🙏
He got picked up by a wildlife rescue place. I hope he’s doing ok! He was getting better when they took him!
Good of you to clean it up. God knows the state will take forever.
Literally every government funded animal control/rescue or whatever was just like ya we don’t deal with raccoons…. Like wtf.
maybe you should call a vet. and how do you know the racoon was rabid?
Rockets got fucked up. But jokes aside, update us please. Even if its in a the comment section.
