@@Chromedonkey The fuses in the bus bar are 3amp, right? I would think you'd just need to change those to 5 or 10 amp fused and then be able to double up. I'm planning on putting the 6 where every jl/jt does and then putting a 7th where the spare usually is.
@@nickpantano3462 Yea, you probably have a point, though I can't imagine them drawing many amps.. Certainly wouldn't hurt to increase the fuse capacity to avoid pushing the threshold though. Honestly I think for JL's this kit is probably fine if positioned strategically (though more is always better haha), but for the JT's, 6 is definitely not enough, you need 8 to do it properly.
@@Chromedonkey Where would you put the 8th one on the JT? I was planning on putting 2 on one of the bolts right behind the front bumper, two at the front of the rock sliders and two at the back of them and then one near where the spare tire would be (mine is in a bed mount).
@@nickpantano3462 yea, I just would keep to the same side of the vehicle, so rather than in the spare tire well (mine is suspended as well from the Road Armor rack), I would add the 7th and 8th at the rear bumper somewhere (I still haven't installed 7 & 8, they are sitting in their packs on my desk lol).
Based on your video I picked these up. I noticed they get really hot fairly quickly. I had another idea for more lights, but would be mounted on plastic. Since these lights get so hot, would you recommend the lights installed on plastic? Would I need to add another material to act as a heat shield buffer?
Yea I know the backs of them act as heatsinks where the heat is allowed to dissipate. I would think as long as you don’t mount them flush to a plastic surface you would be okay. Perhaps a small bracket to get them up and off the plastic surface would suffice?
I did use their fuse setup because it was so clean and allowed a much easier connection back into the AUX switch wire. Not that I was worried about shorts and protection, but just for the ease of install (1 wire to connect vs 6 to loop together).
@@micahpop999 If you use the OEM aux panel, you can go into your settings and control whether or not the vehicle has to be switched into ACC before the switch is live or not.. Typically, for me, when I was using the aux panel (now I use a VoSwitch setup), I would allow light draw items to remain on even when the vehicle was off (such as rock lights like these), but for higher draw items like light bars and such, I would force the vehicle to be "on" meaning, hopefully running lol.

I honestly can't remember (have since sold the JT), but the Cyclone kit came with a bank of fuses that gets mounted to the firewall, so essentially each cyclone light had its own individual mini fuse, I just can't remember what they were rated for. And for the master hookup, I didn't use the aux switches in the Jeep, even though it came with them, I used the VoSwitch, so each switch had a 15a (I believe, if memory serves), so zero issues powering them.

Funny you ask, I have two more just sitting on my desk, not installed yet. I assume they could be doubled up, but haven’t tried yet.

But the Aux Switch is already fused. Did you really have to use the fuse box that came with the KC kit?
