Instead of 30mm low rate of fire guns for spgms Indian army should go for high rate of fire guns from ak 630 with vshorad missiles in a dedicated newly built wheeled chasis or WhAP

Indian army required large numbers of man portable shoulder fire guns . Ukrainian Russia war has proved importance of this system. To push back china in Himalayas this system is very useful.

Would it be possible to use the Sudarshan CIWS(single gun) with side mounted missiles and programmable ammo instead of twin 30mm guns?
AFAIK, the Swedish CV90 uses the 40mm L/70 gun in IFV role with anti helo and drone capability as well so it wouldn't really be an unprecedented move

I think over 10,000 engines will be needed for army within next 2 decades, we are importing engines of all vehicles and tanks. Is no Indian company capable to develop engines? It seems very critical system to be depending on foreign countries.

There's a lot of talkbut where are the operational units, Arjun ATAGS Dhanush are all lagging .All components are present so and so are bandied about but the average soldier has pretty much the same system as they had 20 yrs back a few new systems introduced but not i n good numbers,our artillery is still 105 mm , Tanks are still the Cold war T series , not even a decent rifle has been made by DRDO frankly its disappointing

Air defence gun system is very very very primitive system.For enemy aircraft and enemy helicopter only desi missiles is best ,manufacture low cost shoulder fire missiles to know of enemy aircraft
