Just wanted to say, thanks so much Lore for sacrificing your precious time to make Ruminations of a generally good length again. I'm aware that doing these tends to hurt your mental state when considering the game queue, and the often lack of engagement would understandably lower morale. But for someone like me who appreciates your often impartial insights, it's fully appreciated. Just thought that you'd like some genuine positivity to brighten your day.
As someone who's not a Twitch or livestream kind of guy, I really appreciate these YT ruminations. I kind of miss the old videos where Lore would just turn on the camera (at his job) and just speak from the heart without (presumably) worrying too much about the definitiveness, quality, or whatever. No need for a scoring system etc. just talking to the camera about how he felt about the game.
I really appreciate the analysis of the gangs and the way they're making the world worse and that's how our party makes an actual difference -- that was something I missed when I played the game, and it makes the ending a lot more bearable. Also thanks for doing the run. I know you didn't enjoy the desert, but I enjoyed watching you do it (shout-out to Xahn's input too).
Yes the Adult Arc is Act 3 and after the Rei section it definitely meanders and kinda just has one plot point- Find and defeat god. But it takes like 15 more hours to do that part.
I think you pretty much nail what I disliked about the master system. If you don't find the good masters and take every advantage of them you can, you'll end up with weak characters, and boss fights turn into an absolute slog.
Most people think of good gameplay when wanting to replay a game. Can you think of any game that you'd want to replay based on story alone (especially if the gameplay is net negative)

You should do some too. It'd be cool to hear your thoughts.

First there were Ruminations, then there were Lamentations... and now, there are Rage-inations!

Always great to hear you!

when it comes to stats you never gain negative stats, the worst case scenario is you earn 0 of a given stat.
