Talladega technicality skills r no where near par, sorry. This is not middle n high school. I know im a lower brass and percussion player and I've been doing this for a while. Talladega is not bein loud, they r blaring. Thts a major difference. Listen @ their song list. No articulation, no clarity no nun. I understand their just a 3 yr program but now if you talking abt playing with the big boys its time to ack like it.

LOL. Some of these comments are funny as hell. Here's the deal. These are two solid but underrated programs. They are cut from the same mold in that regard. They both can slap you in the mouth if you sleep on them. Miles and TC can hand some L's to some of the more known programs on their best day. With that being said I knew this one would be pretty good. Both bands were solid here. One more powerful, one more musical. Pick your poison.
I was with you until "on their best day." TC is far from handing an L to the Box or the Boom "on their best day". Fact is: Miles is a respectable program that can hold its own. More than anything, they just lack consistency. TC on the other hand (without taking any credit from them or underrating them) still has a long way off. They have earned their own respect as program but you put your foot in your mouth when you give them credibility like you're trying to do. Let them crawl and enjoy the journey of building a program before you try to slap a W on them against the Box of the Boom. They're just not there...especially musically. Any band with 275+ members can be the loudest...but it takes a rock solid program to hold the crown. Unfortunately Miles isn't trying hard enough for the crown and TC just simply has not earned it. They have work to do.
I hope they put Dega in the SIAC bring back some swagg. I remember back in the early 90's we had AL.A&M, MBC, Albany State, Morehouse, Miles, and FVSU had some great battles back then!
Talladega got so many haters! Of course they not gone sound/be the best but they just a 3 year a band program and better than most bands that have been around 50+ years I am not a fan of them but I give credit where its due they are doing good keep up the good work.

I'm an old school "JUKE", and in my humble opinion, Talladega is very powerful, but still very immature when it comes to execution! In a BOTB's, chart selection, as well as the timing of songs played, is very important. Lastly, quality of arrangements comes into play when you want to separate yourself from the pack. Miles College seemed to have a slight edge with the arrangements, and a noticeable advantage in execution of the songs that they played. They obviously had a smaller sound, but it was clean, and played in ensemble style. This will bare itself out, when my Jukebox host Talladega this Fall. If I am not mistaken, Talladega has some "Jukes" on their staff, so I do wish them well also!
Talladega has nice tuba section (considering they are a Southern clone) and the band has an intense sound for such a young program. People should be concerned; Talladega will only get better! Famu Marching "100" WHITE WHALES
Well the volume button is the least that should be judged...The music selection and ability to clearly hear the notes to me makes all the difference... I would give the edge to Miles for now.
Just to throw this out there, this would be one good classic if TC had a football team. This could be a good rival for both schools. They both went toe to toe with each other and would be awesome to see them both meet more often. Just putting some positive comments out there.
The way Miles us set up in the stands reminds me of TnSU in 2012 v BCU. That arrangement of Hotel California is pretty good too but Miles took it with Beat It.
That's not true.I love SWAC but they just playing loud but MEAC they can play soft and loud also no bands never sound the same. Plus MEAC have more musicality than any SWAC band.
I like the effect Talladega is giving off. They are soooo loud and aggressive! Miles is really loud too. Dirty Diana is my favorite Miles song!!! Miles Wins.
For the people hounding TC about complexity of arrangements lets be real. There are several programs out there right now that are considered by many in the band world to be solid that play the same caliber of music or lower.

Yes, there is no doubt in mind that TC need to work on their control of playing. However, TC won hands down they're way more technical the Miles, don't get me wrong Miles held their ground, but TC in my opinion took the Win.

They should have demolished Miles with that instrumentation but because they are so 1 dimensional meaning only blowing every song I give the win to Miles because they sounded damn good, had musicality, and power. TC trumpets were nice though.
