It's a small setback to a great achievement, especially at such a young age. Don't forget, Nile, that you're killing it, you're a huge inspiration to so many other athletes and youtubers, and you have a huge support base, even if some of us live overseas. I'm an ex-competitive Irish Dancer, and your videos about your struggles with mental health and retraining your brain to deal with the negatives life throws at you have been a huge inspiration for me to get back into athletics and start taking care of my body again, like I used to when I was still competing.
I hope this small setback doesn't burden you with stress. Mats and equipment are replaceable. And while this video was heartbreaking to see the devastation caused by the flood, it was also incredibly heartwarming to listen to your family and gym family talk about what the gym means to them, and to see how they all came together to help.

I discovered this channel some days ago and Ive watched SO many videos. I came because I love watching people doing crazy stuff with their bodies, being fit, being strong and fierce. But I actually stayed because genuinely here are a bunch of good people... so many smiles and support, real values!

Whilst England floods Australia burns 😪 and it's they way you think about it. Our homes are completely gone but it's just a chance to rebuild and to be bigger and better then ever. Thankyou for having a great attitude it has lifted our spirits to stay positive.
Had a small flood in my GC in Darlington about 15 or 20 years ago when we were in a school. Torrential rain filled up the flat roof then burst up through drains in the floor. Was pretty dramatic but hadn't much idea of the impact at the time. Still can relate a bit to the situation though and I'm glad there's lots of people there to help you. Keep it positive.

Omg , I can feel the pain when he says the gyms flooded so there is no gymnastics today , when Neil said he wanted to cry , that’s human emotion . Plus it being open for 6 weeks and it’s been flooded and stuff has got to be replaced is devastating and I feel your pain . Good luck for it in the future Nile

My heart truly goes out to you. I live in Houston, Texas where Hurricane Harvey dumped 27 trillion gallons of water on us in 6 days. Just about everyone in the entire city had some type of damage to a home, vehicle, school or job. It is devastating but you absolutely did the right thing in you have a moment where you take it all in that comes in waves and then you have to try to laugh to keep from crying because you have to pick up and keep it moving. You are surrounded by so many people who support and love you and the gym and I have no doubt, as hard as it seems now, that you will be back in full force!

We’ve had a warning that our gym could flood due to how close we are to a river on our estate near Bristol. Best of luck with the come back!
Out of curiosity, is there anything you could do to prevent the flooding? Some kind of permanent modification to the building itself? To either keep the water out or drain everything quicker? Stone barriers, channels, grates... Something? Anything? It really is a shame that flooding even a few centimeters can do so much damage. For such a common natural occurrence, I'd hope there'd be something available.
HauntedShadowsLegacy it’s pretty much just sandbags and keeping things off the ground that aren’t waterproof. Contents insurance would cover the cost of replacing damages but that takes time. If you outright own the building then there’s more you can do. We’re lucky of sorts that any flooding has to get over a foot deep to actually get in our building
Awwwww gave me goosebumps when the kids described how important gymnastics was to them. The flood was deviststing but it's so humbling like you said to see everyone helping in the clean up. You will be back real soon and it will be better than ever. The gym seems like such a happy community and family orientated gym. It's wonderful to see well done to you all. I've seen it all on Instagram as it unfolded and to see where you are now and how far you've come from it

I feel y'all, Houston has had it's fair share of flooding over my life too. It puts things in perspective and you just have to clean up and keep going forward ❤️. Y'all will rebuild and be stronger!

I am so sorry I was affected by the floods too, I live about 10mins from the gym and all the roads out of my village flooded so we’d been stuck for two days, I’m glad you’re all okay and hope that your gym is back up and running in no time x

So sorry for all the gymnasts at NW gym. It’s so awesome to see the young ones helping fix the gym. It’s amazing to see the young ones with work ethic and taking ownership of “their” gym. Maybe there is some hope for future generations with these awesome kids who aren’t glued to their phones. I hope insurance kicked in and you guys and start fresh with exactly how you want the gym.
Nile should be very proud of his dad for being there to lean on. There is a great community of support and in time this will make his gym that much better.

I was in derby that weekend for a trampoline and dmt final and even that was bad. we nearly missed competing because of the floods and we weren't even in the worst part of derby so I cant imagine how you fell right now. we will come back stronger.

Good luck coming back stronger - my little daughter has now stopped gymnastics (she's 7) and only does ninja now. She still loves gymnastics but her faves are rings followed by parallel bars and as men's events she is no longer allowed to do them.

It's hard breaking, I worked at parkgate, which is just over from here and our shop was completely ruined. It heartbreaking what happened to Rotherham. It's weird coming back to this video and seeing the mess. I was trapped at a friend's house for a few days until I was able to get home.

Nile we are just up the road in Doncaster and it is horrendous here we even have Chinook helicopters here helping so you guys were not the worse affected. I am sorry you have been so affected especially so early in your endeavour. You are a winner never forget x

I live in south Louisiana in 2016 my home flooded. I live in a trailer 3 feet off the ground and we had three feet of water inside and a air boat had to get us out. If you can win a gold medal man. You can get through this no problem

My house was flooded about 5 years ago, same thing as you, my house was next to a river. It took a year to clean and rebuild everything but it was more flood proof then before. There was a second flood the year after and because of all the work we did the door resisted. I would advice you to buy a pump, and sandbags, good luck 💖
