2.2M U.S.-Supported Pfizer-BioNTech Vaccines Arrive Through COVAX

On June 10, the United States welcomed the successful arrival to the Philippines of more than 2.2 million doses of the U.S. Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, the biggest shipment to date. This shipment was shared between the cities of Cebu, Davao, and Manila.
To date, the Philippines has received more than 5 million vaccines through COVAX. The U.S. is the largest contributor to the COVAX Advance Market Commitment, a global initiative to support equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines.
The U.S. has worked closely with Philippine stakeholders throughout the pandemic to protect public health and strengthen local response to COVID-19.
