    You are a brave man using an impacting driver to put those fork caps into the tubes. I would end up cross threading them into next century.

    This build is awesome! I think the next motovlog should be on this bike, which deserves a name now too. Just don't call it "Woody" lol

    I used to use paint to put on grips, but someone said to use WD40 and I was like the "What? No way" guy, and I tried it. Works amazing. Give it a try. BTW, the bike looks really good. Get yourself a zip tie gun, it pulls them tight and cuts them off flush so you don't have those sharp little zip ties all over the place. Lastly, get yourself a seal puller. Worth it's weight in GoldGuy!

    You need to bleed the forks. Lift the rod up and down till the oil spills out of the center. Also you should compresser them, cap the top with your hand, lift the inner leg to create a wakum and do this 10 timers to get all the air out of the valves.
    And please check rebound with the bike on the ground.

    Love your videos, my brother just picked up a 74’MT ELSINORE 250 to restore for me. Any leads on sourcing parts like seals and bushings, any parts would be appreciated . TY!!

    Those are actually the stock forks and internals! They use the same design as the smaller cb450/cl450 which is the internal spring with dampening rod design.

    Great vid as always. The way your impact was ugga dugga on that chain tensioner worried me. Are you positive the chain is tensioned to the correct spec? You can cause a lot of damage if not

    • @GoldGuyRides
      @GoldGuyRides  Рік тому +1

      I was just ugga dugging the tensioner bolts into the lock nuts which were still in the same place from before I loosened the axle and I checked it afterwards, it was tensioned correctly. Thanks for the concern though I appreciate comments like that though, cheers!

    You won't see any oil leaks as long as the engine is not running, since the oil is in the oil pan only.

    • @GoldGuyRides
      @GoldGuyRides  Рік тому +1

      It was definitely leaking out of the bottom seal without the bike running. I think it is low enough to get oil from the pan with the bike leaning. Haven't seen any leaks since I changed the seals after the ride anyways so I guess I'm good to go!

  • @dan123maddy

    • @GoldGuyRides
      @GoldGuyRides  Рік тому

      Thanks for watching Marco, I'll wear a helmet in the next video. I wasn't even planning on riding it in that scene it just kinda happened. I knew it wouldn't be a long ride because of the fuel leak so I just went for it.
