I'm using the motor to only pump water to water tank. So I don't understand what you are mentioning by connecting motor directly to drip system if you only have 10 plants.
Then I think you should definitely need a motor and a tank to store the water that's pumped from the motor. The power of the motor depends on your water source and it's depth. If you want to connect the drip system like in the video, then you can pump the water using motor to the tank, place a tap that's connected to that tank and install the timer on the tap. Then from there you can connect the supply pipe to your plot where the plants are and connect feeder pipe and nozzle towards your plant from the supply pipe. This way you can connect the drip irrigation system similar to this video. All the links to buy the drip system kit and timer is given in the video description. Also I have given the links to buy supply line and feeder line pipe if needed extra.

The main purpose of this video is for people to connect this by themselves at home. Every home have a water tank that's already connected to a water tap. I have already explained that the supply pipe can be connected to any water tap directly just like any hose we connect to water the plants. And the other parts where we need to place is explained, the part where the feeder pipe, nozzle are already shown with one sample. Even the part where we need to connect the timer to the tap where supply pipe is connected is shown. Where the connection to the supply pipe is clearly visible.

For connecting the tap to the timer and from timer to the pipe, I haven't used any tape because it's perfectly tight and leakproof.
