This session on NRK started out being called "The Millie-Vanilli test". "P3" (the youth-focused NRK radio channel) started asking Norwegian artists to bring their instruments to the studio after the M-V debacle. They were then given a song to learn/arrange within an hour before playing it live on air. The format has changed since then, but they still have fun with it on occasion. Aurora's musical IQ shines through even in her most quirky moments. A really fine way to pick Aurora's brain is to watch the "HAIK documentary". This is a two-part program. The first half hour is Aurora being given a "dream day" by the NRK while being interviewed. The second half is a mini-concert in her childhood forest for her parents, family, friends and a select group of fans invited by NRK by having written requests for the song they would like to hear. The two parts can be watched independently. Both can be found with subtitles on UA-cam and are pretty safe reaction subjects since Aurora enjoys reactions and whatever NRK is producing is prepaid by us, the Norwegian taxpayers, thus it is only third-party licence-owners who may throw a blocking wrench.
Love Aurora's interpretation of this song. Only she can inject feeling into a disco dance song and empathies with a scoundrel. Her smile at the end makes the whole performance. Great choice today guys!!
Frank Farian is german: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Farian It was his business model for quite some time, to compose and arrange disco and stuff like that with different people acting for it.
I turned on You Tube this evening and this popped up. I wasn't familiar with you guys, but I know Aurora so I checked it out and you guys are great, I went to your channel and watched a bunch of stuff and loved it. I didn't find something I expected though. There is another singer from Norway, a girl named Angelina Jordan, (that's her in my little circle thing) and the two fan bases (the Angels and the Warriors & Weirdos) usually recommend each other. So I'm doing that now. Angelina is 18 now, in 2024, and has performances going back over 12 years ... let that sink in for a minute ... okay, long enough, here is the Barefoot Angel of Oslo singing James Brown at an outdoor concert in her home town of Oslo, with the Norwegian Army band, to a sold out audience including the Prime Minister of Norway, at the release of the album they recorded with her, ("It's Magic", get it on CD from Amazon) when she was 12 1/2. I know that Angelina is familiar with Aurora, she said so in an interview (not a surprise, the kid listens to everything), but I don't know if Aurora knows Angelina, since Aurora has said that she doesn't listen to other music since new songs pop into her head constantly. Typical. Angelina has original songs she has written, Elvis tunes, Queen songs, Amy Winehouse songs (everyone mentions Amy when they hear Angelina), her most infamous song is from Screamin' Jay Hawkins and she is notorious for singing Adele better than Adele. I think James Brown would have liked this - ua-cam.com/video/HEm7tGrjIKk/v-deo.html
I remember i could'nt stand this disco hit when it first came out . Auroras version I really like. The lyrics are fun..and her voice as always stunning. Aurora turns shit into gold. Thank you guys.
The irony of this is that Aurora actually sang it, whereas Bony M was a fake band and all the music and vocals were done by session musicians. This young woman is a genius on the same level as kate bush. Those rare people who take the word "normal" and file it under the category of mediocre/boring. I would love to spend a week working with her in the studio. What a talent.
Boney M? At least "Ma Baker", "Daddy Cool"... Personally, I know these titles and more or less the general melodies, but I don't have the slightest idea what they're about. The only lyrics of this band that I really paid attention to were those of "Rasputin", since Aurora "highlighted" them as she knows how to do so well. Striking (and pleasing) how the more you react to Aurora, the more your comments are explicitly positive. In my country, onions are very appreciated, especially in (onion) soups (among other things), and I see some of them are excellent in suggesting great songs of a wonderful artist.🙂👍
I loved how she took that disco romp and turned it into a ballad. So fun!
Nice reaction and info guys. Checkout her Beatles cover ACROSS THE UNIVERSE.....

Great reation guys. Yes she is a genius so she can learn lyrics pretty fast. Never seen her with help from a paper etc.
She is also pretty good at forgetting them at times. 🙂
You have to check out some type of skin her newest song, and she also realised a acoustic version of it too

Sorry to correct you, but Boney M are from Germany. Great reaction.
😊👍
Aurora has a little bit of a Dolly Parton twist to the song. I guess she is a Dolly fan (like anyone i guess).
