Maybe the homeworld gems were experimenting in the kindergarten to make their gems stronger and smarter, and Rose was the product of this experiment. However, she turned out to be more intelligent than other gems, and figured out Homeworld's true intentions, realized what they were doing was wrong, and then started the rebellion. So because they realized that Rose was too intelligent, they stopped producing Rose Quartzes and shut down the kindergarten altogether?
Homeworld never hid their intentions, gems knew they were turning the earth into a colony. She was just more empathy and caring. I believe that Rose Quartz had to use her emotions to control her powers too. She was able to care about everything, which most people, not just gems, don't have.

There's also the fact that Peridot is a gem type expert and certified Kindergartener, but when she and Steven were in the Kindergarten that grew quartzes in When It Rains she just said "You're some kind of quartz, right?" without specifying. But Rose Quartzes can be replaced for any other quartz soldier like Jaspers, since their purpose is the same, fight.

This is disproven. In the new Steven Bomb you can see thousands of bubbled Rose Quartz and Yellow Diamond says, "A ROSE QUARTZ.", meaning there is more than one. But Rose's personality is probably different. I dunno. Other Rose Quartz are probably not rebellious. Also, if you're over the age of 19 or 20, drink every time he says "Rose Quartz". I'm sorry ;-;
crazy owl Yeah, I'm torn on that one. On the one hand, I have a hard time believing that Rose ACTUALLY killed Pink Diamond. Especially when she was so adamant to Bismuth against it and when she didn't have the resources to do so. On the other hand, everyone seems pretty serious when they talk about it and it's possible that maybe she felt so guilty about it that she never wanted to do it again. It's hard to truly say.
I appreciate this theory, the effort that was put to make this, and the video in general, and armed with the information you had at the time I can see how and why you came up with this theory, the entire fandom knows now that it's false now to the episode called That will be all (I believe that's the name of it) where in Blue Diamond's zoo, there were many rose quartz soldiers bubbled. Jordan Lincon the only problem is the other Roses are Blue Diamond's property. She was responsible for them being poofed, and now keeps them bubbled. One more problem with this guy's theory though. They refer to Rose as Rose Quartz because she was so infamous among homeworld gems during the time of the war, and even newer gems may know of her as a villain that threated homeworld from legends.The gems loyal to homeworld may fear another uprising from Rose, but that could have gone away after they had noticed Rose wasn't making any moves on them. This could have caused them to gain a false sense of safety when invading and re-colonizing on Earth, which triggered the main events of the show. Although the show does start off with gem artifacts left after the war, there eventually is that result of false security, as shown with Peridot being tasked with reporting the progress of the cluster. EDIT: Just thought of something else. Rose "shattering" Pink Diamond could have distilled fear and distrust towards the other Rose Quartzes, making Blue Diamond take action and demand them being poofed, as she could not bear to destroy something that may have been the last reminder of Pink that they had.

Our Amethyst was still in the ground at the end of the war/corruption nuke. AmethystS, though, were around. (Possibly seen in the battle flashback, also the fusion monster in Keeping It Together seems to have an Amethyst's leg.)
It's very possible that since Rose Quartz started the Crystal Gems and started the rebellion, she might have been the most popular Rose Quartz, since the newest episodes of Steven Universe they show us the other Rose Quartz Gems in bubbles. Since Rose Quartz is most popular and most known in the Homeworld Gems she might have a huge reputation amongst them. It's just like how most known singers are more talked about than the less known singers, we know that they're are a lot more talented singers out there, it's just that we haven't heard of them yet. If you look at it from that perspective, it makes a lot more sense for them to call Rose Quartz specifically 'The Rose Quartz' not 'A Rose Quartz'.
Well, Rose Quartz is a very special and well-known Gem. When Jasper said that, she said it after she saw the shield glowing right in her face, and Gems of the same type don't have the same weapons. With Rose being the Gem that she is, Gems would recognize her easily, not to mention the shield has her symbol on it. And who's to say Gems of the same type can't have at least some uniqueness beyond their physical forms. Maybe Rose's uniqueness was her healing tears, we don't know. If anything, maybe Rose Quartzes are much unique and valuable Gems, more than Sapphires. Maybe all the Diamonds only have one Rose Quartz. We'll eventually find out. But great theory👍🏼

She is not the only one, because in the Episode "That Will Be All" I'm pretty sure that was the Episode that Yellow Diamond had sang "What's the use of feeling blue", that in the room they were in. There were Rose Quartz's in bubbles!
Maybe rose quartz gems were a new concept before the war and they tried to make some. But they ended up realizing that they are too weak. I mean a rose quartz means love, peace, and healing. It's not a warrior type gem , so they started experimenting and trying to make a strong rose quartz until, they finally did it. But what they didn't realize is that the rose quartz would become self aware and would soon start a rebellion. Once they fought in war, most of the prototype rose quartz's were shattered in war. And the ones that did make it were shunned and discriminated because a rose quartz shattered pink diamond. So they could have just been shattered due to the diamonds not even wanting to see a rose quartz or they are just not as well known as the rebellious rose so they just aren't considered at all. So that could be why they referred to rose as the ONLY rose quartz.
Yeah because it's sounds kind of wierd to say only one rose quartz ever existed in all of gem history. It just seems a bit too much, so I say that there are and were some rose quartz.
Lil' Lappy But they make gems for a specific reason. When they rushed with the Beta Kindergarten gems were made with less quality, except for Jasper. This was before any kind of conflict, so she was might have been made in the same kindergarten as Amethyst. They would have taken more care with her, and plan out her usefulness, with is why they make them fully grown up, so that they can do their purpose immediately. We know that the gems are actually made out of the stones they are named after, so maybe they hadn't colonized any planets with Rose Quartz in it before Earth, and Rose was the first of her kind.

I always just took this as fact since jasper just referred to her as rose quartz not rose quartz facet whatever. 2. If their were others why would the rubies make a big deal about a gem having the power to heal and 3. If there were others she could have easily been taken down by another set of rose qaurtzes.

Hey Vox, while I appreciate this theory, I don't agree with it. Not to be rude I just want to have some input. We see that the same types of gems like rubies can have different weapons, maybe Rose was the only one with a shield? Also when Garnet refers to Rose in the answer, this is Garnet looking back on her time with her long time friend, Rose Quartz, she wouldn't be saying Rose Quartz #345, the leader of the rebellion, and her terrifying renegade pearl. She would be talking about her dear friends in a past sense. Also Rose Quartz's fame with the CG and Homeworld would probably give her the title of when people say "Rose Quartz." They might think back on the Rose Quartz who made such a big wave in Homeworlds history, anyways thanks!
Also it is possible that she was the first, but the demand to make one was so high (because of all the abilities and because earth is fragile) they could only make a few before the first one (our rose) rebelled and/or the resources began to run out do to the high demand thus why the kindergarten is so dead. If this theory is correct than experiment to make a rose would be left to see what it does (ya know if we make this guys let's see how strong it gets) then afterwards would lead to less strong of roses if they tried to farm them in the same place but a rebellion had begun before they could change locations sadly to create another rose at maximum power (efficiency) making our rose "The" rose courts

i wish there was a episode were the crystal gems found roses hole in her kindergarten and they couldn't find pearl or greg and they checked there and found them there talking about how much they loved rose (like in the episode mr. greg episode) but the gems leave them be then pearl and greg later come back to the temple and the gems act like nothing happened and steven finally tells greg and he tells pearl and they all go into roses hole and talk about how much she meant to them. can't think of anything else after that
I think this is cannon. In That Will Be All, we see plenty of Rose Quartz's gems, where Blue Diamond is crying. So, Rose Quartz wasn't the only one in existence but rather the only one "activated". I love your channel, by the way, keep it up. :)

The reason she is referred to as "Rose Quartz" is because she's in the rebellion. There are more Amethysts but on homeworld they're referred to depending on where they came from. But because of Rose Quartz being sich an enemy she's now being referred to as Rose Quartz. Also in the episode, the zoo? I think it was the zoo. Blue diamond says: "I never sent A Sapphire to earth." So the idea of 'there are one of a kind gems' isn't true (unless you count fusions). And the reason there are no other Rose Quartz's in the war, Is because Rose Quartz's are so strong, homeworld couldn't risk the rebellion having 2 or more. So they were all bubbled. Yeah, I'm torn on that one. On the one hand, I have a hard time believing that Rose ACTUALLY killed Pink Diamond. Especially when she was so adamant to Bismuth against it and when she didn't have the resources to do so. On the other hand, everyone seems pretty serious when they talk about it and it's possible that maybe she felt so guilty about it that she never wanted to do it again. It's hard to truly say.
I appreciate this theory, the effort that was put to make this, and the video in general, and armed with the information you had at the time I can see how and why you came up with this theory, the entire fandom knows now that it's false now to the episode called That will be all (I believe that's the name of it) where in Blue Diamond's zoo, there were many rose quartz soldiers bubbled. Jordan Lincon the only problem is the other Roses are Blue Diamond's property. She was responsible for them being poofed, and now keeps them bubbled. One more problem with this guy's theory though. They refer to Rose as Rose Quartz because she was so infamous among homeworld gems during the time of the war, and even newer gems may know of her as a villain that threated homeworld from legends.The gems loyal to homeworld may fear another uprising from Rose, but that could have gone away after they had noticed Rose wasn't making any moves on them. This could have caused them to gain a false sense of safety when invading and re-colonizing on Earth, which triggered the main events of the show. Although the show does start off with gem artifacts left after the war, there eventually is that result of false security, as shown with Peridot being tasked with reporting the progress of the cluster.
EDIT: Just thought of something else. Rose "shattering" Pink Diamond could have distilled fear and distrust towards the other Rose Quartzes, making Blue Diamond take action and demand them being poofed, as she could not bear to destroy something that may have been the last reminder of Pink that they had.

It's very possible that since Rose Quartz started the Crystal Gems and started the rebellion, she might have been the most popular Rose Quartz, since the newest episodes of Steven Universe they show us the other Rose Quartz Gems in bubbles. Since Rose Quartz is most popular and most known in the Homeworld Gems she might have a huge reputation amongst them. It's just like how most known singers are more talked about than the less known singers, we know that they're are a lot more talented singers out there, it's just that we haven't heard of them yet. If you look at it from that perspective, it makes a lot more sense for them to call Rose Quartz specifically 'The Rose Quartz' not 'A Rose Quartz'.
Maybe once Rose 'turned' every other RQ was executed/shattered.

Well, Rose Quartz is a very special and well-known Gem. When Jasper said that, she said it after she saw the shield glowing right in her face, and Gems of the same type don't have the same weapons. With Rose being the Gem that she is, Gems would recognize her easily, not to mention the shield has her symbol on it. And who's to say Gems of the same type can't have at least some uniqueness beyond their physical forms. Maybe Rose's uniqueness was her healing tears, we don't know. If anything, maybe Rose Quartzes are much unique and valuable Gems, more than Sapphires. Maybe all the Diamonds only have one Rose Quartz. We'll eventually find out. But great theory👍🏼

Maybe rose quartz gems were a new concept before the war and they tried to make some. But they ended up realizing that they are too weak. I mean a rose quartz means love, peace, and healing. It's not a warrior type gem , so they started experimenting and trying to make a strong rose quartz until, they finally did it. But what they didn't realize is that the rose quartz would become self aware and would soon start a rebellion. Once they fought in war, most of the prototype rose quartz's were shattered in war. And the ones that did make it were shunned and discriminated because a rose quartz shattered pink diamond. So they could have just been shattered due to the diamonds not even wanting to see a rose quartz or they are just not as well known as the rebellious rose so they just aren't considered at all. So that could be why they referred to rose as the ONLY rose quartz.

Lil' Lappy But they make gems for a specific reason. When they rushed with the Beta Kindergarten gems were made with less quality, except for Jasper. This was before any kind of conflict, so she was might have been made in the same kindergarten as Amethyst. They would have taken more care with her, and plan out her usefulness, with is why they make them fully grown up, so that they can do their purpose immediately. We know that the gems are actually made out of the stones they are named after, so maybe they hadn't colonized any planets with Rose Quartz in it before Earth, and Rose was the first of her kind.

Also when Garnet refers to Rose in the answer, this is Garnet looking back on her time with her long time friend, Rose Quartz, she wouldn't be saying Rose Quartz #345, the leader of the rebellion, and her terrifying renegade pearl. She would be talking about her dear friends in a past sense. Also Rose Quartz's fame with the CG and Homeworld would probably give her the title of when people say "Rose Quartz." They might think back on the Rose Quartz who made such a big wave in Homeworlds history, anyways thanks!

1)Rose Quartz could be the first one- agree, she could of been the first(also experimenting) and once they found out what happened to pink diamond they stop any other process of more quartz
2)rose is pink-agree, only high authority of pink diamonds court would usually have close color to their diamond so rose could of had a high position (idk what kind) you can find evidence for this of sapphire can see future and i believe lapis said it when she was telling her story of how she got in the mirror she was supposing to stay on earth and i take that as something like an investigator i guess
