No. That take 1 is over emotions. Serial maari irunchu . Too melodramatic . Needed a more subdued reaction for that scene. Would have loved too see take 2. Seems like that would have been better.
The director's point about the emotion in take 2 is exactly correct. I was in my higher school when the movie came and I also had that thought where she cries and goes with daughter whereas Surya has to be with Ex. But that thought broke when it was all Jo's dream

It was during my 2nd year of my college. The guy who got his hand fractured is my friend and we both were supposed to go together. Since it was on sunday i told him ill go with you later. He is right it took close to 1 year for him to get fine
10:11 I agree with the Director, that scene felt a bit off, but his expertise in the rest of film didn't make it seem as too much of an issue. But now that he mentioned this it makes a lot of sense. The editors must listen to the director, the director's cut is what matters. I hate the fact that the majority of people in the edit room took a show of hands to decide against the director and confuse him and his opinion too.

I watched this film more and more times surely above 50 , but now also I get the same feel even today I watched in kalaingnar TV...every time I cried for ishu n8 dinner time talk, last balcony scene Surya talk, kundhavi 's Letter reading that is ishu' s genuine and true love and finally Jodhika's scene I love u totally....that is the master peace of this film...u sir don't take a bad decisions that really work out....jodhika vittutu poiduvanga but andha illusion la patthuttu cab la varapa oru real wife oda thavippu irukum...in myself I felt I can't do this to my husband even I can't imagine, kundhavi character played very strong role a fabulous performance by Jo mam.... my most favourite movie ever
