Is it just me or does anybody else think that the fact that Halestorm is so humble and friends with a lot of rock musicians make her a better artist! I just absolutely hate big ass egos!
All of you saying Lzzy can sing, I wonder how many of you have seen her live. If you haven't, and you're impressed by this, buy a ticket next time Halestorm rolls through your town. "Impressed" won't be a strong enough word to describe how you will feel listening to this amazingly talented woman in person.
I am a big Pat Benatar fan. So I naturally prefer the original version. But I don't think this cover deserves the "it sucks" label some people have given it. If the original rates a 10.....and it does in my book......this cover is a sold 8.5
I have just recently been introduced to Lizzy and Halestorm. Lindsey Stirling did a song together and I was so amazed at her voice. I really love her band and her voice. This is one song I really loved the original and this one is right up there with that one. HALESTORM ROCK!!!
Lzzy hale brings great respect and honor to pat,her voice is incrediblly powerful, emotional, gritty,i am in awe of how she can cover such a vast variety of genres of music.have to see halestorm live.
Lyrics: They cry in the dark, so you can't see their tears They hide in the light, so you can't see their fears Forgive and forget all the while Love and pain become one and the same In the eyes of a wounded child Because Hell, Hell is for children And you know that their little lives can become such a mess Hell, hell is for children And you shouldn't have to pay for your love With your bones and your flesh It's all so confusing, this brutal abusing They blacken your eyes, and then apologize Be daddy's good girl, and don't tell mommy a thing Be a good little boy, and you'll get a new toy Tell Lzzy you fell off the swing Because Hell, Hell is for children And you know that their little lives can become such a mess Hell, hell is for children And you shouldn't have to pay for your love With your bones and your flesh No, Hell is for children Hell Hell is for Hell Hell is for Hell Hell is for children Hell Hell is for Hell Hell is for Hell Hell is for children Hell, Hell, Hell Hell is for Hell, Hell, Hell Hell is for Hell Hell is for children Hell is for children Hell, Hell Hell is for Hell (Hell is for Hell) Hell is for Hell (Hell is for Hell) Hell is for children Hell, Hell Hell is for Hell (Hell is for Hell) Hell is for Hell (Hell is for Hell) Hell is for children Hell is for children Hell is for children
I feel like most covers forget the emotion in songs. Lizzy knows, she knows what this is and wnat it means and it really carries though in her voice. Im glade the band did this song.❤
I'm getting that 'seeing a child's first smile' again~!! I couldn't even believe it was her at the beginning, and I was going insane on the inside because my heart was trying to run away!
I love Lizzy, she rocks! This is a great cover. But it also makes me realize how powerful PB was on vocals. Her tiny little frame producing all that power! Both these ladies are rock queens
i did not expect this wonderful voice out of this little girl. And no, it's not like the original. it's good in its own way. i bet even the great Pat Benatar even respects the fact that she can sing the hell out of it just as she did back in the 80s. ~~ i really wish the few people in my life that 'may' of said that Halestorm could rock,,, would have made it clear just how fricken well!! I am glad i didn't let the opportunity pass me by today. thnx guys!! ~ keep rockin!
I freaking love Lzzy! She is a living legend! It drives me up the wall that she spells her name with no "i" in it. Whenever I see Lzzy hale I think "Landing zone Hale"
I'm a huge Pat Benatar fan, I even saw her in concert on her 35th anniversary tour when she came to Wisconsin. I'm in love with this cover (Considering Halestorm is one of my favorite rock bands too).
I just stumbled onto you work. I am an old classic rocker from the 70's when ROCK was KING of all the FM radio stations. Question guys. Has Ann Wilson of Heart heard your cover of All I want to do is make love to you? If so she had to give you a big KUDO'S to you guys!!! You knocked that song out of the park it is SO SO GOOD! Along with this one has Pat Benatar heard this? Your covers are some of the best out there!!!!! I remember seeing Pat Benatar in Seattle at the Paramount Theater for $1.00 at her rising star concert back in the late 70's! Great Work guys!!!!
I listened to this cover, anticipating I wouldn't like it. I heard this song as a child while listening to albums with my mom, and I loved it from first listen. However, Halestorm pleasantly surprised me. I DO like their cover of this song. Well done!
Good cover and rendition. I like how you put your own spin on it. I was to see Pat Benetar twice but the show canceled as her husband/guitar player had injured his eye, twice. I think it is very good that you are introducing this song and its subject matter to a new and different group of people by age and music taste. It's a subject that needs exposure and not to be hidden in the dark. Nothing happened to me, but it did to my first wife and the next one. 1st one kept a lid on it for many years until one day she had a flashback and from that time on she could not close pandora's box. 2 years later her shrink had her tell me. Up until that time, we had been married for 10 years and I had known her for 4 or 5 years. I separated 8 years later. Those last 8 years, I helped her as much as I could but she would not do what her Docs and Therapists wanted her to do. After an intervention and some crazy joint therapy sessions, I felt we needed a break. During that time she met a fellow 26 years her senior and later married him. My next and current one told me about being raped on 2 separate occasions at 16 by her boss on our 4th date. But she took him and the company to court. Her folks supported her, but it was her that made it all happen. She was scrappy and smart. He was sentenced to prison and her employer paid a monetary settlement. With professional help, she had recovered and one of the strongest people I have ever known and equal in intelligence as #1. They have "Hut" in their name. #2 was a blind date rebound that I should have kicked to the curb after we came back from the honeymoon, but lasted 4 years and my only child. I have lost count but I have had many women tell me about improper encounters. I guess they trust me.
Glad to see they finally brought some of their live covers from previous tours off the road and into the studio. Still would've liked to see a studio version of their cover of Straight Through The Heart make the album instead of Gold Dust Woman. Or maybe their cover of Full Circle. Both of those covers were amazing.
I've said for years that Lizzy and Amy Lee kind of took over for Pat Benatar and Ann Wilson. Those 4 women are all amazing and among the best voices of my lifetime.
I've mentioned on a number of their videos that Lzzy is like a new version of Pat Benatar. And this just proves it. But the original version has a better guitar solo. I was 19-20 when this song came out.
I feel like this song is one of Pat Benatar's underappreciated ones, but it's one of her best.
Because of the subject matter
Yeah, it's an amazing song, albeit one that can be difficult to listen to due to the subject matter.
I'm 53 years old and been a pat benatar fan since I first heard her sing . This chic right here is a hell of a singer , great job on covering this 👍
This girl makes me so happy. Rock 'n Roll is far from dead with new artists like her out there!!! Rock on Lzzy!!!
is there anything she can't sing
Nessun Dorma?
Shaun Whalley silence. lol
I kind of consider Halestorm as music for 14 year old girls. Nevertheless, I'm 30 and male and I bought an album.
I think they're great. I'm a 47 year old male and love them.
Is it just me or does anybody else think that the fact that Halestorm is so humble and friends with a lot of rock musicians make her a better artist! I just absolutely hate big ass egos!
I have a friend, who's daughter gets personal happy birthday texts from Lizzy Hale every year on her birthday, that's about as humble as it gets!!
What about the fact they are so recommended
I grew up with Pat Benatar on my playlist and this cover gave me chills..... EARGASM
This Cover of Pat Benatar is So SPOT ON even Pat Benatar would congratulate her Tenacity in her song can't wait to see her tomorrow night in Ga
200% true. 💙
I grew up a Pat Benetar fan and I'm also huge Halestorm fan , both Pat and Lzzy's voices give me goosebumps
Oh my freaking sweet Jesus! ! OMG Lizzy girl!!
You rock the very FOUNDATION of my world wit that spirit, heart, passion, and scream of your's !!
Lizzy ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am a big Pat Benatar fan. So I naturally prefer the original version. But I don't think this cover deserves the "it sucks" label some people have given it. If the original rates a 10.....and it does in my book......this cover is a sold 8.5
+John Fuentes I feel the exact same way. BTW Pat is one of my all time favorite singers and Lzzy is one of my favorite current singers.
This heavy music behind Pat's vocals...would be magnificent. No offense to Lzzy, her version is way cool also.
I have just recently been introduced to Lizzy and Halestorm. Lindsey Stirling did a song together and I was so amazed at her voice. I really love her band and her voice. This is one song I really loved the original and this one is right up there with that one. HALESTORM ROCK!!!
Having grown up w/ this song & cranking it, screaming it. Very well done!
I don't care what any one thinks this cover is badass! Horns up to Lzzy's righteous vocals!
Donny Doom I cold not say it better
Still holds up
Lzzy hale brings great respect and honor to pat,her voice is incrediblly powerful, emotional, gritty,i am in awe of how she can cover such a vast variety of genres of music.have to see halestorm live.
Out of all the bands that were formed in 21st century Halestorm is probably the only one that I would buy a tickets to see live:)
Daaaaamn, Lzzy is like the Pat Benatar of our time! Just has a little different flavour but their techniques sound very similar :D
She also reminds me of Joan Jett with the attitude of her music.
Did you listen to 'I Miss the Misery'?
Deliquescator Yes, she is!
Modern take. Still it's a needed song
Agreed
I would love to hear them play Heartbreaker Halestorm ROCKS!
he is married tara .bye
Lyrics:
They cry in the dark, so you can't see their tears
They hide in the light, so you can't see their fears
Forgive and forget all the while
Love and pain become one and the same
In the eyes of a wounded child
Because Hell, Hell is for children
And you know that their little lives can become such a mess
Hell, hell is for children
And you shouldn't have to pay for your love
With your bones and your flesh
It's all so confusing, this brutal abusing
They blacken your eyes, and then apologize
Be daddy's good girl, and don't tell mommy a thing
Be a good little boy, and you'll get a new toy
Tell Lzzy you fell off the swing
Because Hell, Hell is for children
And you know that their little lives can become such a mess
Hell, hell is for children
And you shouldn't have to pay for your love
With your bones and your flesh
No, Hell is for children
Hell
Hell is for Hell
Hell is for Hell
Hell is for children
Hell
Hell is for Hell
Hell is for Hell
Hell is for children
Hell, Hell, Hell
Hell is for Hell, Hell, Hell
Hell is for Hell
Hell is for children
Hell is for children
Hell, Hell
Hell is for Hell (Hell is for Hell)
Hell is for Hell (Hell is for Hell)
Hell is for children
Hell, Hell
Hell is for Hell (Hell is for Hell)
Hell is for Hell (Hell is for Hell)
Hell is for children
Hell is for children
Hell is for children
I must say its about time some bands like Halestorm, In This Moment among others give tribute to the bands/songs that broken open women in rock. Js
Man I listened to the original right before this one and God damn this is good, wow.
Damn,80's RESPECT!
Pat can rock this but hell so can you
Halestorm has revitalized metal,hell...All music for that matter. They can sing, and play the hell out of anything!!!!!
This is probably the best cover of this song I have ever heard - period.
Her voice.. YES!!!!!!
There's NO other person who could do this cover than Lzzy, My God this woman can sing!!!!!!!!!
She sings so high so effortlessly. 😫
I hate that people don't know pat benatar as much because people who say they like rock its newer stuff and not the good stuff
Ooohhhhh mmmyyy gooodnesss....
VERY GOOD VERSION OF THIS CLASSIC PAT BENATAR SONG
Better Than Original.
I feel like most covers forget the emotion in songs. Lizzy knows, she knows what this is and wnat it means and it really carries though in her voice. Im glade the band did this song.❤
❤God Bless the children! Sing it Lzzy!
Bada$$ cover! Pat Benetar is one of the greats and obviously a huge influence for Lzzy.
love your voice, forever and ever!!!! And the band
I'm getting that 'seeing a child's first smile' again~!! I couldn't even believe it was her at the beginning, and I was going insane on the inside because my heart was trying to run away!
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻Lzzy, Arejay, Joe, Josh🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Halestorm covers are elite 👌
Holy hell...I thought Benatar had the most powerful voice I'd ever hear...Love it!
she has good taste
THIS IS AWESOME
i wanna see a crossroads with pat benatar and halestorm!
Wouldn't really be a crossroads tho. They're both rockers.
Hell, hell is for children
This song is so true
i liked it..Lzzy does the BEST covers of all!
I love Lizzy, she rocks! This is a great cover. But it also makes me realize how powerful PB was on vocals. Her tiny little frame producing all that power! Both these ladies are rock queens
Just went and seen these guys last night and they blew the roof of the place!! (Dec.7th at Pierre's, Ft. Wayne, In.)
Heard on the radio today with my mother. She loves Pat and actually liked this cover! Halestorm is my shit!
This is the perfect song for them to cover. Wish they had made a bigger deal of the release.
Hell yeah Lzzy! Hell is still for Children in this fucked up world!
Love you guys but Pat Benatar remains the reigning champ on this song
I still hope they cover Sad But True by Metallica

This Is WICKED
Halestorm is so good, everytime I listen to one of their covers, I no longer like the originals... wow
Maniacal Euphoria they covered ride the lightning by Metallica. I still like metallicas better lol but all the others I agree with
Mindhunter! Such a good fit!
Nails it.
I love the fact Lzzy did not try to impersonate Pat Benatar on this cover. She put her own spin to it while staying true to the original
I just stumbled onto you work. I am an old classic rocker from the 70's when ROCK was KING of all the FM radio stations. Question guys. Hope you still rock and fingers crossed your kids do too. I'm a cool uncle so I'm always rocking
Dig it!
"They blacken your eyes and then apologise" this gets me
Halestorm is amazing! huge fan! amazing!
First time I heard Halestorm about 5 years ago or so, the first words out of my head were the lead singer sounds just like Pat Benatar
Beautiful.. Got nothing more to say.
I listened to this cover, anticipating I wouldn't like it. I heard this song as a child while listening to albums with my mom, and I loved it from first listen. However, Halestorm pleasantly surprised me. I DO like their cover of this song. Well done!
Wow...she nailed it! I love haelstorm.
the most accurate description ever!
Amazing cover! One of my all time favorite songs covered by one of my favorite bands!
Excellent!!!
Lzzy brings it! Her band does (mostly) it right on this one.
Oh! Did anyone else hear that wicked low squeal after "don't tell mommy a thing"? 1:55 Badass little ringing tone.

I would love to hear a cover of Metallica's "Don't Tread on Me" done by Halestorm
Why can I only vote this up once...all of the yes
MrZangetsu1997 aww
I want Metallica to play it again.
That would be AWESOME!
You need to hear I. C. S. Vortex cover of don't Tread on me
I like it and like halestorm, I was expecting it to rock harder, not beating the original for me but I do like it.
Good cover and rendition. I like how you put your own spin on it. I was to see Pat Benetar twice but the show canceled as her husband/guitar player had injured his eye, twice.

Awesome cover.
I think the point of a cover is homage rather than trying to "out do" the original performer. Great song, and a classy choice as far as covers go.
Amazing singing!
Interesting take on a great song. Love both versions!
I've watched some live videos, I'm sure it can't compare to their live music, but still awesome! My fave band!
I've said for years that Lizzy and Amy Lee kind of took over for Pat Benatar and Ann Wilson. Those 4 women are all amazing and among the best voices of my lifetime.
Awesome!
voice
I prefer this to the original tbh. Love the Guitar Riff in both versions.

How is this the first time I am hear this ♡
It's brilliant x

LOVING this ep
Omg so awesome
