I like her voice
XD looks fine but still
I think this is going to be an absolute pain to sit through...
Interracial underwater tones.
I just have to say I can't wait not to see this
I just want to say! They made Sebastian into a Ghost Crab, which is a kind of crab that can’t breathe underwater. This Sebastian would drown under the sea
No he's not
So would Ariel fool
@@christophermorris6152 Ariel is literally a mermaid, how would she drown?
LMAO 😂😂😂😂
@@jimboswamps5602 Your point doesn’t make sense when the initial comment is referring to them making him a specific real species to design him off of to make him more realistic…. So it is valid to then note that they specifically chose a realist design that contradicts the character placement. lol
I find the Sebastian depiction hilarious... it brings a humor in a different way. Lol like I cant take him serious looking with those eyes but it still brings joy to my face lol
Same. If they tried to make him look like his cartoon counterpart, it would look HORRIBLE.
@@haydenberends3905 Yeah I just realize how creepy and weird Sebastian would’ve looked if they tried to make look like the original cartoon
Halle’s voice is absolutely insane!🥹
And her acting is absolutely awful
🤣🤣🤣
@@Whats.Next.Videos thousands of women can sing and thousands of women can act and a lot can not do both. halle isn't a once and a lifetime singer but she's better than most popstars now. Next time your impressed by an actor or singer, remember that thousands of people in industries across the world act and sing and even more people will replace them for generations to come so why get so excited about anything honestly ;D)
It doesn't match the character and also comes off very forced. This movies dogshit

Love them using the “Part of Your World” reprise with the iconic hair flip and rock splash! Yeah not sure how I feel about the realistic sea friends 😂😂😂
You can blame nature for that one 😂

@@saberfan it’s a movie featuring creatures that don’t exist and with realistic lions being a fail I thought maybe they’d dance the line of realism with some animated expressions a little more
@@saberfan in the animated, sebastian's features were lobster, even though he was referred as a crab. Now, that the live adaptation came, Disney changed his features to be fully taken as a crab, that's why it was very off to see him like this. Now, in the live adaptation, they turned Sebastian into a Ghost Crab a type of crab that cannot breathe under water for long. With these blackwashing, Disney has lost their sht now, lmao.
@@jeanninebrice9107 They did. If you look, Sebastian clearly has a face that shows expression.
On the one hand, Halle Bailey has a beautiful voice, and Melissa McCarthy looks and sounds great. On the other hand, they completely butchered Sebastian. I'm going to say that I'm cautiously optimistic.
Sebastian is a Jamaican crab. How is making a Jamaican crab look like a Jamaican crab butchering him?😂
@Rossella Aurora I looks so off, but I don't know how to make him not look off
Be mad at nature…cause this is roughly how crabs look in a live action…😭
Yeah, they messed up the voice. Ugh
Bruh i cant believe they did Sebastian so dirty....
Watching the realistic animals talk was weird but everything else looked amazing
That girl can sing too. The soundtrack is going to be crazy.
Right? Clearly they did not use the pixar team 🤣
True lol😂
So you didnt watch Jungle Book and Lion King…gtfo lol
Well, at least they didn't do what they do in pinocchio. Making the animals look like the animated version... it wasn't creepy, but what is the point of making live action if you're not gonna make them realistic? Althoigh i like they kept the animals realistic here, is weird seeing that in sebastian xd
Ok ... But watching a "real" mermade IS not that weird i guess 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I don't know how the movie will turn out. But the cast plus Lin Manuel Miranda means an amazing soundtrack album is on the way which I am here for.
It's opening 2 weeks after GotG 1 week after Fast X and one week before Spiderverse. These other movies are going to kill this. Fast X is kind of a different audience, but as far as sales go, people who would bring their kids, are already the ones who have issues with it. That, and the CGI is avg. It's good in some scenes but looks rushed and unfinished in others.

I actually prefer this to ANy of the teaser trailers so far. I felt like we didn’t get to see Ariel in anything but dark water, so it was really hard to tell what color her hair was actually going to be. This trailer shows us a gorgeous brownish red that looks good. It also shows a lot of her charisma, charm, and determination to make it to the human world.
Well that's bc those were TEASERS and this isn't.
They werent suppose to be this.
@@InnerRiseOk?
@@StrawberryShartCak3
Ok.
@@InnerRise They weren't much of a teaser anyway, since they didn't get me and a lot of people excited for this film. Neither did the trailer.
Teasers are meant to get people excited. Exactly why would they make it so dark that you can't even tell the color of their hair? Something on the level of that should and would not be excluded from a teaser.
@@StrawberryShartCak3 could see her hair clearly but I'm not gonna let the success of a teaser rest on that bc IT'S A TEASER.

Jajajajaja
Amen!! 👏
Halle's voice is so beautiful!
I like how they did the cinematography! For me I think that the colors really show the contrast between this like magical world and the human world. It also makes more sense of why Ariel would want to explore it more because it looks different. That’s just how I saw that!
Those were my exact thoughts when i saw the teaser but then they showed the outside world and it was still grey and dull
I like the mix of the muted colors and the single colorful elements like her fin and the magical stuff. Seems unique to me. But could also totally not work for a whole movie.
@@lilmilontiktok I agree… I just think they wanted to keep the outside world exactly what it is and have a sort of irony between the audience and Ariel about how we know that the human world is not nearly as good as her life in the sea
Looks dull on land and in the sea imo
Lol
All controversy aside, Halle looks amazing and sounds like absolute perfection! I could care less about skin color, hair type etc. This looks super interesting and like they actually care about the source material. I hope ALL the songs we know and love are in this.

@@kiebr8766 actually yes! Brandy, a Dark skinned women was Cinderella. And the new snow white live action will be Latina!! Go cry about it racist asshole ❤️
@@kiebr8766 Disney already produced a dark skinned Cinderella if you forgot and it’s beloved by all. The only difference is that it tried to be its own thing with original songs, original characters, and original set design, as well as at the time the unique concept of the girl meeting the prince before the ball. Nobody on earth has complained about that movie because it wasn’t trying to be something it’s not. I think the real reason people are upset at this race swap is because Disney is doing nothing original with it. Also they are making Snow White hispanic in their recent reboot. 🤷♀️
I actually liked that trailer. It look promising and stunning. Plus I love the rich colors. That will be an epic Fairy Tail
Yeah the trailer looked great, i just cant imagine Ariel without red hair. Thats what comes to your mind when someone says the little mermaid. You think of young kid Ariel, having red hair. That and Ursula
“Pretty colors”? So I can legitimately call you retarded no without being scolded right?
Watch "the wall" very pretty colors.
It doesn’t look rich or colorful tho
Just goes to show this movie's gonna be terrible when the most prominent thing anybody can talk about is how colorful the colors are
Whatever problems the movie will have, halle bailey won’t be one of them.
Few things that I just want to see in this movie
King Triton going full God mode and obliterating Ariel’s cave

No, because that Oscars win almost ruined my entire night until this trailer dropped😭
I think the movement of it all is impressive, despite the almost necessarily strange direction for the animals, the underwater feel has to leave room for gigantic toe tapping musical numbers so I think it looks great for that. I think the look of the film will cohere well enough to serve the film but each setting will at least have its own charm. For me it does come down to the music and it sounds off the charts so far, not to mention Ms. Bailey's singing.

@@WeThePeople_FJB No one cares about the opinion of a racist troll though. Lol
They hit the nail 100% on the head with the comment that the underwater scenes don't feel like they are underwater. A creature in water can move in three dimensions, but these characters look like they've been pinned in place so that they can be inserted into the CG work that was probably 50% done when they started principal photography.
The most glaring example is when Trident approaches Ariel. If he were underwater, he would swim toward her, head down, and then maybe right himself. Instead, he floats down at her, his tail twitching slightly, with his torso completely upright. That FIGHTS the conceit that they are underwater. No amount of light diffusion and hair movement and particle effects can make up for that.
Sure, making underwater scenes feel like they are underwater is probably pretty hard, but no one made them make this move. It's the opposite of Who Framed Roger Rabbit? That movie went out of its way to get tiny details right. With this movie, it's like they ignored one of the biggest parts of the assignment.
I guess everyone went to school on how to film underwater. Its not a big damn deal its DISNEY FILM OF MAKE BELIEVE
@@princeofdatny Such a bitter response. It's gonna be harder for kids to get into it if the looks janky. Hard to get into "MAKE BELIEVE" if it's grating on the immersion. I’ve seen it multiple times this morning and I still got goosebumps again!!!
I mean, in the animated movie Sebastian is a crab with a human head.. so I like this better lol
I agree! It would not work in this like ppl think. If they went with the original approach and gave him movie accurate features.. *that* would be nightmare fuel. Haha it's like you said.. a human face on a crab body... It would be like John Carpenter's The Thing or something.
Sebastian was always the make or break for me and though he looks weird, he sounds pretty good. I might have to check this movie out when it hits theaters.
It's hilarious that people defended the choice of Leah as Annabeth by saying ,,the hair can be dyed" and then criticized Halle as a little mermaid who HAVE a red hair. This movie will defend itself with Bailey's singing. I've never heard such a wonderful voice before in Disney.
It's one of the most hated videos on UA-cam. The dislikes are over 1 mil. Just like other remakes from Disney, it can't compete with the original animated movie. A good voice is not enough to compensate for a shitty movie.
I get what you're saying, but I'm not sure what else they could do with Sebastion's design. The original Little Mermaid is probably the most to blame due to the fact they designed his head to not look like anything like a real crab. They basically gave him this overly cartoon head that just completely ignores what crabs look like. I understand why, but that's why going 'live action' or realistic design is hard, especially with talking animals.
I'm sure if they gave him the same exact style face as the animated movie, that would equally throw people off as well. I mean, animated Sebastion had human teeth, a human tongue, and human sized eyes. I can't picture how you could make that design lifelike and not look like super weird nightmare fuel lol.
This was a perfect description! Word for word! I think ppl have no idea what they Are talking about. Haha they only think they want that. It *would* be 100% nightmare fuel. This was fine. He was realistic.. but he definitely had like cartoony expression with the eyes...
But outright human features on him would look like a mutant. Haha... Not that that isn't cool!... Just.. maybe not for TLM. Haha
I mean have you seen pixar films? There are obviously ways of making a realistic AND cute looking character
@materialgrl2000 yeah, but Pixar movies are still not emulating real life. They may be 3D cgi models, but the entire world is still cartoon style, but just in 3D. If you did designs like those, I still think it would stick out and just not look right at all in a movie that's trying to emulate live action.
An example of one where I think they went & tried to blend an animated style and mix it with live action would be Sonic in the Sonic the Hedgehog movies. With that said, the other issue is still that Sebastion's head is just not the head of a crab, at all. He basically has a small deformed, pink skin colored human head. It's actually a really weird design, lol.
i’m so so excited halle is so incredibly gorgeous and everything looks so cool (although every talking animal except for flounder creeped me out) (flounders probably gonna freak me out when the movie comes out i just couldn’t see him well enough)
That was kind of unavoidable though. But at least they're animating the faces to be more expressive this time.

I think the only issues I have so far are with the cgi, it’s too obvious sometimes and looks goofy. Like the scene when Ariel is looking back at Eric on the sand, the way her hair turns is cringey to me because it was so obviously cgi’d and that’s just her turning her head. I think Ursula looks great I especially like that her tentacles are glowing but some moments in the water too just look a little goofy. Even with that I’m still excited for the movie.
Sebastian was like mr. Crab from SpongeBob. 🤣
They have torches though, I think it’s supposed to be very early morning…which makes sense color wise…
Halle Bailey looks amazing as Ariel!!! Wish they had made her hair bright red, though ❤
Does she?
I'm noticing the underwater world looks very vibrant and the human world looks very washed out, and they played with that with her shiny colorful fin coming out of the water as the pirates-like guys were going to Eric. I'm excited to see how the colors will be brought in more as she's with Eric longer.

Nailed it!
I wonder if Disney is going to let Ursula call Ariel a "tramp" in this movie, like they did in the cartoon version.
This is such a small detail but the way ariel dives into the water during the part where she brings Eric onto shore is very reminiscent of On Stranger Tides. The speed and how she/her tail moves is almost the exact same way the mermaids in POTC dove in that movie. Very much demonstrates Rob Marshall previous experience with mermaids.
I think we all need a group therapy session to handle Jamie Lee being awarded by all those nominees 😂
I think it is awesome! To finally see this, I had no idea it would have this effect on me. Just because someone doesn’t like a movie doesn’t make them a hater. There are tons of reasons why people are reacting negatively to this film that have nothing to do with Halle. Don’t assume it’s just about one issue. Some people are just more loyal to the original than others. Just another live action flop people will forget about 2 months after its released only to be brought up again by people making top 10 something something Disney lists. (more than likely ranking the live actions series from mediocre to terrible)
Looks good and it already looks a million times better then Live Action Pinocchio, so its already a success
It feels like the underwater areas are going to be very fantasy/like the animated movie but the above water scenes will be more realistic and that's why there's such a color difference but that's just how I interpreted it
I was waiting for you
No it’s so good!!! I honestly missed Disney at it’s best. Doesn’t trailers always make me feel so warm. This one was no different. Well done, and I just have to shout out Melissa McCarthy. She swallowed Ursela up, and she killed it.
