I got my ccna but if i have a question in my mind, first i check your channel. Your explanations are the clearest and your demonstrations have everything about that subject. I am glad that i found your channel. Thank you very much.
Thank you for making this. Taking the CCNA two days from now and these are incredibly valuable for brushing up on my understanding of Cisco technologies and features.
i want to thank you so much for the videos your post on this channel, i just got my ccna certification. i want to tell you i really appreciate your work !!!
For those trying to configure the etherchannel and getting a loop, try making all trunk ports in "switchport mode trunk" and not rely on DTP. (I think this is a Packet Tracer issue). I had the case were the packets are looping and I tried it and it works.
Thank you sir, I am watching your vids when I forgot some configurations in my practice lab. This help me a lot. Keep on sharing your knowledge :) kudos to you.
Hi Dan! I recently took a CCNA bootcamp training here in Philippines and the training took only for 5 days and for me, I think, its impossible to master the CCNA in just 5 days for someone like me who's started as zero knowledge in networking. That is why I am watching your video tutorials for me to learn more and more to land a job as a network engineer or any networking related jobs. And its really helpful.. I just have a request, can you please send me the link of the topology you used in this video? or post it in this video description? Thank you very much sir Dan! Keep it up! More power! Godbless!
Thank you very much I really appreciate your time and efforts used in making us understand this topic. But next time, try to SHOW PORT LABELS coz some of us use it as guide thanks.
Packet tracer used to be abit of a 'optimal scenario' when learning switching.. maybe things have changed the last years.. but gns3 / real life hardware is the way to learn still? Or can one accomplish CCNA by Packet Tracer & interactive netacad studies without the hardware in real life?
Question please Hallo as I see , you have used three different protocolse , between s1& s2 you have used LACP , and between s2 & s3 you have used PAgp , also between s3 & s4 you have used Etherchannel Manual , ... my question is how if I use all three links in one protocol PAgP for example , did it work with me ,
Do I need to add allowed vlan's on the Trunk, Just switchport mode trunk works fine if multiple VLAN's are configured. For single VLAN's access mode works fine. Is it mandatory to make the port-channel trunk?
I'm doing this exercise in PT6.3. I've followed the instructions as per the video, and when I try and Ping I get a broadcast storm on the arp, and I never get a response. Is this a problem with the PT6.3. I've gone over this several times, and get the same results.
Having an issue when configuring the port-channels. When configuring one side as passive and the other side as active I get the I- stand-alone for the configured interfaces and not P (port in channel). Would you be so kind to tell me the reason for this?
hi, i have a one question ( i use packet tracer 6.2) I am setting up three switches connected together using rapid-pvst and only two switches want to configure LACP, I saw your explanation but what would be the switch S2 in your video when configuring LACP me blocking all ports but leaving forwarding Po1 root port really do not understand why this happens, I appreciate the help
I have the same config as you but only one vlan ( 10 ) and two switches using LACP. The LACP is working and I have a pc in each end on the 192.168.10.0 /24 network. I've set switchport mode access and vlan 10 on both switches on the interface to the PCS. Also Trunk mode on the LACP etherchannel link with allowed vlan 10. I can't ping the PC on one side to the other, it just spams ARPS and never is able to ping. I've set no management ip on the switches and no default gateways for the pcs. Anyone got a clue?
Older switches didnt have the ability to auto-cross "auto mdix" but since the 2960 switches will automatically cross the connection. You have to be careful because if you have some 2950s connected to each other they don't auto-cross so you will need a crossover cable.
Thank your answer, Dan. That can work in the real life. But will it work in PT? or should I use the traditional cross-over cable since it's a teaching/practice environment and simulator?
IT DOESN'T INCREASE BANDWIDTH.... channeling is for redundancy... so if u have 4 100mb connections bundled you still only have 100mb of bandwidth on that channel.
If you configure your parameters on the Interface instead of the Port-Channel... For instance if want to ADD a VLAN to that TRUNK.... You will create INCONSISTANCY and will lose your trunk link!!! Hopefully someone can be called over at the remote site... That can be told HOW to reboot that router... IN MALAYSIA!!! Hope they speak the language too !!! lol ;-)))

Your explanations are the clearest that I have ever seen. Thank you very much.

You are amazing teacher. Everything becomes crystal clear after your explanation

Cheers for the video mate! This has helped me a lot with understanding what the hell I'm doing in my practical this Friday!
copy that here, (and this, at each of danscourses, lol) 😎 👍
Simple, clear and right on point. Thanks!
your tutorial was so much creative and genius . good job

Keep em rolling in. I need all this practice.
Thank you so much. You are genius!!!!!!!!! as you sharing your knowledge to other people.
Wow, your english is so good! ( I did understand everything) haha Thank for the lesson btw! It's amazing, and you too
his indian accent is so easy to understand right? hahahaha joking
Your tutorial are very good.
Excellent, Thank so much to take your time to help others
Thank you Dan, very good material
Real english finally ! Thanks
Nice tutorial.
Didn't know 2960s can auto-cross straight-through cable to work as crossover cable.
Thank you very much I really appreciate your time and efforts used in making us understand this topic. But next time, try to SHOW PORT LABELS coz some of us use it as guide thanks.
Dan, i love your videos !!!
You are the best!
best explanation

great work
my question is what packet or information exchange with 2 switches to became Port-channel?
Do I need to add allowed vlan's
on the Trunk,
Just switchport mode trunk works fine if multiple VLAN's are configured.
For single VLAN's access mode works fine.
Is it mandatory to make the port-channel trunk?
Using Packet Tracer, Can you configure LACP on a network switch that doesn't have "Manage Capabilities"?
LAG port not deployment in Layer 3! correct? LAG/Port Channel only Layer 2 mode,
Thank you very much.
You're the best
Will you please tell me the difference between port channel and channel group ??
Same I configured but both side pc s are not reachable what was the issue
Interface range not validated- command rejected how to fix it? What is wrong with it?
if I don't define vlan that can pass in trunk mode. can all vlans pass it?
how do you configure load balancing based on src ip or src-dst ip?
Nice work,
Is there anyway i can get of copy of the packet tracer file to follow along with you?

I think it is a glitch in the program too. it was buggy for my demonstration just yesterday.
I get the same thing in PT6.2
same, lol and here I was going crazy trying to get the correct response.
Having an issue when configuring the port-channels.
When configuring one side as passive and the other side as active I get the I- stand-alone for the configured interfaces and not P (port in channel). Would you be so kind to tell me the reason for this?
I also got the same and ping is not being aswered

STP does block the port while creating a logical link so should be disable stp or just connect the interfaces after configuration in packettracer
how to disable the stp ?
kanchan shrestha just add no to the cmd
Good video. I just want to ask why you are using Straight-through cables? it's supposed to be crossed-Over cables. Am I wrong?

The 2960s will auto-cross but the 2950s won't just like actual equipment. The 1941 routers will not auto-cross but real 1941 routers do.
No packet tracer file in below description ?
thank you
Very good
Ok, question. Most of mine are between Cisco Switches and are set to nonnegotiate. Is this the desirable mode?
Andy Rhine Non negotiate is EtherChannel the "On" mode.
Thankyou
is possible? like i have one gigabit switch and one fast ether switch can we do link aggregation between them?
ga bisa, kan udah dijelasin sama dia.
Hi Dan, the download link is not working
work.
Plz sir ,make video about syslog ,SNMP,Netflow ,NTP ,licensing.....
see this one and check this channel it have all - ua-cam.com/video/dEpSnZqmFFY/v-deo.html
download link is broken for packet tracer. Thanks for sharing none the less.
Nice One
How can I get the file?
Come to Brazil!
you do just one thing as favour, stop editing the text below
it hides the current command you are typing
