They dont want it to become like factorio? That's a terrible take on a very small, very niche option for gameplay. Why would they limit themselves to specifically avoid increasing automation, when automation enriches the game by a huge order of magnitude? @Sacha Allemekinders that's not what keeps older players in a world for a long time after that though. What's been fun for me is the build up, gradual move from manual stuff to automation, and various larger scale building projects.
I agree. The important thing is to just not let automation be at all "easy" to achieve if you're gonna enable full automation. This example of Crafting Table Hopper Support is great for auto-crafting. Doing complex crafts in it is a real challenge based on Ilmango's prior demo of the feature. If you're gonna have a Block Placer, make it so the Block Placer itself can not be moved. You'll have to develop complex machines to transport the placed block to the desired location, and even more complex to make a useful structure with it. I think a more legit means of block breaking automation is definitely necessary. Java users getting this absolutely cheap TNT Duper is BS. Something similar to the Block Placer. Make the Block Breaker immovable, and require the things you want it to destroy to be moved in front of it.
Absolutely yes, you guys already pretty much use bots to auto-place trees for your tree farms, so I don't think an auto-crafting table is too far off from that concept already, I say go for it.

I'm for it! I know the big unique thing about the series is that it's peaceful and working around the limitations is interesting, but why struggle when it's tedious and unnecessary? Plus think of all the cool new redstone contraptions. Like Mumbo's video outlined, it's not even that OP at all.
on the one hand, I kind of like that this series is basically pure vanilla since your other ones all have minor changes here and there. on the other hand, I want yall to have fun and endlessly crafting the same recipes is not exactly the most entertaining way to spend your time. Either way, I support your decision. Keep up the great work!
Imo auto-crafting should be a part of vanilla, but be either a late-game thing with a crafting table modified with smth found in the nether or end, or it should cost fuel. The fuel option could be made interesting via the extra complexity that you have to supply the right fuel to achieve the correct timing needed for the auto-crafting, replacing the redstone clocking. For instance, with bamboo for fuel you'd only be able to auto-craft 2-item recipes (torches, sticky pistons etc.), dried kelp (edit: blocks) for fuel could time the auto-crafting of 9-item recipes etc.
Maybe a balanced compromise is a 3x3 recipe hopper compatible auto crafter , which required some kind of fuel to them. The fuel is especially important because every hopper accessible 'crafting' machine requires fuel that I can think of. Based on your skyblock series that had autocrafting and MBE I have to say it didn't fit well with vanilla. It is just too broken to be able to autocraft just about everything in the game.. I think your 1.14 skyblock episode 24 'Now It's Fully Automatic' is a good example of both the concept of stringing together multiple farms like you said, and its a good example of what I mean of it being a bit too broken. I know that series also had MBE and without that it would be less broken but I think free autocrafting is waaay too broken Thank you for coming to my ted talk
I would say yes to auto-crafting. There is essentially no drawback to it and you can turn brainless grinding into something automatic by putting in some brainpower once. So it is just like normal technical minecraft. Isn't there even an option to add polls into UA-cam?
@@honeybeestims That is strange. I watch another guy that does polls frequently and they pop up in my feed, even though they are posted in the community section.
@@racernatorde5318 community posts (including posts with polls) can show up in your feed, they just got rid of the feature that allows creators to put polls *in* the actual videos as info cards
Had an idea for the MBE series involving this auto crafting and making it easy to auto craft things such as shears which have blank spaces inbetween materials. You could have a way to put in (for shears) iron in the right spot and a filler item to occupy the unused spots in the crafting recipe, then piston push a hopper to pull out the filler materials and move them back to a looping system to re-use them but with the shears themself they get crafted and sent for example to the sheep farm storage. Just a suggestion that could be a fun thing to explore in MBE
If adding the hopper support to crafting tables helps all of you make content more smoothly then I am 100% on board. I think we can implicitly fill in the gaps with manual crafting and focus on the awesome farms y'all are making :)
MAKE AN ITEM CRAFTING FACTORY COMPLEX!!!!! Seriously showcasing carpet mod autocrafting would be amazing since the effort-payoff is not as broken as the current iron golem farm. A new theme for the autocrafting complex would be nice. I still do not know if the carpet mod autocrafting is lag-friendly if several are working all at once in an area.
I've spent some time working with the autocrafting and creating different designs for different uses. It doesn't seem unbalanced to me, and is great fun. The issues it fixes may only be an inconvenience in most worlds, but at scale, it's game changing in the best of ways. Less time spent on boring item hell and more time actually playing the game
Personally, I would imagine that by the time a player would want an auto-crafting table, they would be in the endgame, so I would have it where it is a modified crafting table, maybe something using Netherite?
Before when I heard "auto crafting" it sounded too moddy to me, but when Mango explained it a few episodes ago by pointing out that he just means hopper support to crafting tables with set recipes, and we already have hoppers interacting with brewing stands, furnaces, chests, etc. then it really does make sense. I'd love to see some vanilla-style auto crafting mods and hopefully Mojang reconsiders. Seriously, the fact that you COULD automate just about everything doesn't mean every player WILL. It's perfectly balanced because it takes so much effort to make these creations. I did a quick browse of CurseForge and "Crafting Automat" by Loldoggy seems to be the best! (At least in terms of simplest and closest to vanilla.) Unfortunately I think it's only for Forge, not Fabric. But oooh Carpet Mod includes it? nice
I would LOVE Minecraft to be a little more like factorio. just hopper support with crafting and this game would be 11/10. You wouldn't have to play it that way either, that's the beauty of Minecraft. It wouldn't be forced upon anyone, it lets those who love redstone and automating to do so, while enjoying the beauty that is Minecraft.
I understand how a hopper can insert things to cook + fuel into a furnace, same thing for a brewing stand. As thing only have to be cooked, it is not irrelevant to have them already automatic. But crafting an item is supposed to be more complex (tie, nail, glue etc IRL) I would be ok with only a new block used to compact stuff: (Redstone, lapis, bonemeal, ingots) but requiring some fuel to operate. For the more complex stuff like crafting, I would prefer a mechanism involving villagers: first set a recipe in their UI and then just throw them the ingredients + some emeralds as a payment; after some time they throw the crafted item on the ground (something a bit similar to bartering)
Would love to see what you guys can do with autocrafting, from what i've seen the implementation seems pretty fair and requires a lot of effort rather than being overpowered, and i'd rather see videos of interesting autocrafting contraptions being built than have you waste hours offscreen on manual crafting. Heck, throw in movable block entities too while you're at it, i want to see what you can do with it in practice!
I understand why a lot of people want hopper support for the crafting table. And the argument that the furnace and brewing stand have hopper support is a good one, but the crafting table is so much more complex than the furnace or brewing stand. The furnace needs 2 inputs and gives one output, the output always being in the same slot. The brewing stand is the same with 3 inputs and 3 outputs that are in isolated slots. But the crafting table has 9 inputs and the way the you show it all 9 inputs slots are also output slots. Once again I do really like this feature I just think that mojang has no obligation to add hopper support for the crafting table
I am all for the auotcrafting block with an input like the crafting table gui which represents the recipe and hoppers to feed the materials and collect the output.
I'm excited for the addition of autocrafting to the series from now on. It should really be a feature for vanilla anyways, I don't get why it shouldn't.
Obsidian gets destroyed by lava because it is effectively lava which has been cooled down. The heat of the lava just melts it and turns it back into lava. Ancient debris is fundamentally different and apparently has a melting point greater than that of the temperature of lava. As iron has a melting point of ~1500 C, that mean the lava needs to be at least that hot and thus the ancient debris and netherrite needs to be made of something that can withstand that. This would also explain why you need a diamond tool. Diamond when exposed to air will burn below the temperature of lava, but if protected from the air they can go much hotter before breaking down. So with the upgrade, you apply a thin coating to the tool/armour which protects the diamond from the air, and which itself can withstand the temperature of lava. It wouldn't work with other materials (like an iron sword) as they would melt/break down inside the netherrite. I would suggest tungsten (due to its high , but that doesn't allow with gold (unless gold isn't actually gold). Assuming the scrap is a pure metal, then the candidates include Hafnium, Tantalum, Vanadium and Niobium. I think Hafnium is one of the better candidates.
Even if they won't add an auto crafter, a compressor table would be great which could take 2x2 or 3x3 of the same item and auto craft to help with storage. I feel that would be genuinely useful to most players.
I said it last episode and I'll say it again , its ur series as long as it makes you guys have fun ( and less annoyed by the grind ) then do it. I've been there crafting thousands of items isn't fun at all.
@ilmango, I am trying to design a nether tree farm of my own, but can't figure out how to instantly get the nylium down, so it doesn't convert. How did you guys do it?
TBH I feel like you should just go full 1.14 skyblock, add the movable tile entities and increased dispenser support too. Also the chainstone would definitely be a cool addition that didn't exist back then. I think everyone on the server and most viewers on YT agree that these are cool features which should be in the vanilla game to begin with.

I love how they are so good at red stone and then to flex even more they create builds that are this amazing
I am all for the hopper support for crafting tables as I feel it should be a base game thing anyway.
Im all for the hopper support. I really like the idea of it and want to see it explored and it will only extend the life of the series.
16:39 mango produces so many resources that it’s literally not worth his time to pick up full stacks that he drops
lmao
One of the many things I appreciate about your videos is the variety in timelapse music.
I know that series also had MBE and without that it would be less broken but I think free autocrafting is waaay too broken
Thank you for coming to my ted talk
I would say yes to auto-crafting.
There is essentially no drawback to it and you can turn brainless grinding into something automatic by putting in some brainpower once. So it is just like normal technical minecraft.
Isn't there even an option to add polls into UA-cam?
unfortunately youtube got rid of the poll feature in the videos:/// (they still exist in community posts though!)
they removed polls from info cards :(
Mango has a poll for this
@@honeybeestims That is strange. I watch another guy that does polls frequently and they pop up in my feed, even though they are posted in the community section.
@@racernatorde5318 community posts (including posts with polls) can show up in your feed, they just got rid of the feature that allows creators to put polls *in* the actual videos as info cards
Im drunk sitting on a toilet waching this while people knocking on the door, thats how much i love the series
The afk bot must be named FunGuy come on... XD
I'm binging these series as much as possible. Love it!
Yes! To the hopper! I wish it was in vanilla, so go ahead
I think the idea of autocrafting is great, and I'm excited to see how you'll use it, if you do.
Yep, add autocrafting!
I'd also be a fan of some kind of niche block placing method, some funky way that can place (some more) blocks
We need factorio series with this guys
Omg yes! I'd love to see Mango go full overvoard and build a 'small' 10KSPM base :D
I think ilmango likes how it is hard to automate and how the you have to work to do it
I dont think factorio is anything like this? I don't think he would enjoy it
@@Elyzeon. are you not seeing how this guy plays minecraft?
@@nicolaslinopereira677 I am and it's not how factorio is played.
Personally, I would imagine that by the time a player would want an auto-crafting table, they would be in the endgame, so I would have it where it is a modified crafting table, maybe something using Netherite?
This would be awesome to have! It would be awesome to see the complex systems on this!
now it makes perfect sense dat glotz is thinking about replaying starbound^^
what an awesome buld!
I think it’s perfectly reasonable adding auto crafting
I think it's a very good idea to add hopper support for crafting tables as a really valuable proof of concept ! c:
You should totally add the hopper supported crafting table, it should be in the vanilla game anyway so its nice to see and promote!
Nice to know that even IlMango projects can start off with an unintentional bang, just like most of my projects that involve TNT.
I understand how a hopper can insert things to cook + fuel into a furnace, same thing for a brewing stand. As thing only have to be cooked, it is not irrelevant to have them already automatic.
But crafting an item is supposed to be more complex (tie, nail, glue etc IRL)
I would be ok with only a new block used to compact stuff: (Redstone, lapis, bonemeal, ingots) but requiring some fuel to operate.
For the more complex stuff like crafting, I would prefer a mechanism involving villagers: first set a recipe in their UI and then just throw them the ingredients + some emeralds as a payment; after some time they throw the crafted item on the ground (something a bit similar to bartering)
Yes use the autocrafting !! That seems so fun!!!
Would be fun to see the hopper crafting table in this series! :)
I am all for the auotcrafting block with an input like the crafting table gui which represents the recipe and hoppers to feed the materials and collect the output.
I'm excited for the addition of autocrafting to the series from now on. It should really be a feature for vanilla anyways, I don't get why it shouldn't.
Oh forgot: aside from the innovativeness of some of your farms, this moon base looks really impressive!
I like the idea of adding that feature. It just ads more interesting stuff
Yes, do the hopper support. It would be way more interesting and make it easier for you to play.
8:50 amazing edit with the music calimg down for a pause right at the transition between digging and building.
The autocrafting is a really nice idea👌👍
I think you should add hopper support for crafting tables to the peaceful challenge.
I'm begging you Mojang! Put that Hoppersupport in Vanilla!
I was expecting a poll 😁 Would love to see autocrafting and the expansion of farms through it.
'we only want to add a small bulk storage', 'a little bulk storage'
... ilmango has finally become a caricature of himself
Love factorio ilmango glad you mentioned it.
Even if they won't add an auto crafter, a compressor table would be great which could take 2x2 or 3x3 of the same item and auto craft to help with storage. I feel that would be genuinely useful to most players.
Mojang: we won't add autocrafting.
Ilmango: *fine, I'll do it myself*
Yes please do, Id even say you add the movable entity blocks mod as well for even more fun stuff
you definitely should add hopper support to the crafting tables. the fact that it's not already in is surprising tbh.
I vote yes! Add hopper support to the crafting table.
I would like to see auto crafting in the peaceful series
GO FOR IT. Autocrafting would be sick!
My OCD is glad you fixed the single chest placed at 9:37.
Add movable block entities too. To also promote this idea. And chainstone
I wish I could get all the schematic at his schematic folder. It's just gonna be so fun exploring the farm he had made
I said it last episode and I'll say it again , its ur series as long as it makes you guys have fun ( and less annoyed by the grind ) then do it.
I would really love to see the auto crafting feature in the peaceful challenge videos.
I knew he was gonna do this, go for it, I’m 100% in
That mod is powerful. The challenge is to make the most complete brewing station possible.
Yes! Love the motivation for introducing automation to the more broad audience of Minecraft and hopefully Mojang picks up soon instead of all the deliberation.
