    Nice job Bryan, I know I've said it before but you know how to teach this stuff really well. I'm not a dozer operator but watching this is still easy to understand.

      Thanks Allen! I stand behind what I said last year. At some point this summer we should get you and Noah over here and get you some seat time. If we time it out with one of our jobs we can make it happen.

    On point.. This goes with many controls. Same thing with blades on a mini x, people tend to get super jerky & jumpy.. Smooth, slow, fluid movements are key.

    Cool lesson. Appreciate you Bryan. Been finish dozing outfalls with plenty of sand, fun fun. Mostly 4:1 slope stuff. Looking forward to your 2022 vlog👍✌️🇺🇸

    If you haven't already you should make an instructional video regarding slot/trench dozing efficiency. That's the #1 technique I see new catskinners employing incorrectly. Before I learned that slot dozing is the key to efficient dozer work I was lost, once I learned it I used it on every push I possibly could. Now I can confidently say I can keep up with just about any situation. An old dozerhand once told me "push the dirt in front first" and while I didn't really get it at the time, eventually I learned that's the key to be efficient in any scenario.

    THANK YOU!!! You nailed it when it comes to getting flustered when first introduced to the Dozer. I'm in the 2nd week of getting level 2 certifications and the Dozer & I are not making fast friends! I'm pretty persistent and hard headed so I will figure this out. In the meantime I am going to pay attention to my blade hand and SLOW down everything...the machine itself, my hand and my breathing. I guess I shouldn't be so hard on myself because it sounds like I'm not the only one making *hoopties" in my trench! GRRRRRRR they sure do piss ya off though! 😂
    You gave great advice to literally every single I'm doing wrong!
    I am a fan of your channel! Your dumb it down when it's needed and you put things into the perspective of the beginner and follow it with advice from a veteran dirt guy!
    Keep doing what your doing because your channel and your words of advice are finding the people you wanted to reach when you started this UA-cam journey! Your doing good things here!

    I remember when I first learned how to operate a skid steer when I was doing the landscaping trade at job corps and I told my instructor it's kind of like a video with joysticks 🕹 kind of like from an arcade machine or flight simulator game.

    • @DieselandIron
      @DieselandIron  2 роки тому +1

      The new machines are even more like this. With the ability to customize which buttons do which function and full electric over hydraulic controls we are just short of video game territory. Cat Command has pretty much crossed over to being a video game!

    Most dozer operators push with the blade rolled to far back and, so, have to push it hard into the ground to get a cut.
    Roliing forward loads yo the blade and gets a far more consistent cut. If you feel it loading up too much, roll it back until it dumps enough to roll back forward.
    Best tip I ever got - keep your floors on grade and everything else just kid of happens.
    Oh!
    Watch your clino and don't try to cut to grade first push. First push 2% over grade and second push to grade.

    • @DieselandIron
      @DieselandIron  Рік тому +1

      That is something I need to talk about in a future video. Most operators don't ever touch the blade adjustment on the front of the machine. That could help with a lot of frustration with new guys.

    Awesome video. New to dozing. Trying to cut a parking area in a field on a slope with hard clay in oklahoma. Can't seem to get it level and blade keeps digging in.

    • @DieselandIron
      @DieselandIron  2 роки тому +1

      With clay you will want to take small bites. As you are seeing, the clay grabs the blade and pulls it down into the grade. If you are having a super hard time you can try adjusting the blade pitch with the turnbuckle at the top of the blade. Laying the blade back will help you not to dig because the back shoulder of the blade will help keep the blade up.

    When you have a good machine that everything is nice and tight smooth transition on the blade are easy to make.....but when you have a jalopy machine that everything wiggles on it then it's easier said than done, that's when you tell the boss...Dude if your going to take the surplus of what we all created to live large for you and your family and not buy a good machine to make work easier for your employees then stick this job where the sun don't shine.
