Joey, I think you should consider Yedora, Grave Gardener. It's a green 5/5 creature for 5 mana value that reads: "Whenever another nontoken creature you control dies, you may return it to the battlefield face down under its owner's control. It's a Forest land." So every time you sacrifice an animated land to activate Baba Lasaga, it will come back as a regular forest land so you won't be behind on lands. You can actually use it to ramp by sacrificing your creatures as well. It also loops nicely with Matt's recommendation Llanowar Loamspeaker as you can animate the lands that come back to get 2/3 of the types your commander wants to be sacrificed.
This was my first thought too. The ability to turn a creature to a land helps solve the land sacrifice complications while recycling what you sacrifice for additional value
Hearing Joey say that he sandbags his baba activations typically for the turn before his is really eye opening. I've been playing this deck for a few months now and started with his list as my initial build and I think that specific nugget of playstyle really changes the way I look at this deck. Thank yall for these deep dives into your decks.
i built joeys baba deck and omg its fun. brought it to my lgs for edh night and made alot of people interested in playing here. very interactive and gains life like no other. thank you joey for giving me a new spark in playing edh
Am use to Joey losing it when Dana does/says something random or weird but Matt's reaction to the segway bit was pure joy to watch. It pretty much broke him, in a good way.
Ive really enjoyed watching you all talk about your deckbuilding choices! Your enthusiasm and joy when talking about them has convinced me to build (slightly tweaked) copies of Matt's Rah Rah Raggadragga and this lovely list by Joey. Ive had a Meren deck that Ive always kept semi-up to date, but I could never bring myself to tear apart. Joey's deckbuilding journey ended up really resonating with me personally, and Baby Lysanga looks like such a interesting take on the GB Reanimator/Aristocrats strategy. (No offense to Dana! xD I'm just not a Voltron player)
I feel like the new Tyvar would be great in this deck. He’s cheap, so no worries with the mana, he lets you activate Baba the turn she comes down, and he let’s you use Baba on your turn and then still hold her ability up, or just give a creature pseudo vigilance, plus can bring back a lot of the cheap utility creatures. And if you don’t need him he’s another card type to use.
One of the cards that is really frustrating for my enemies is "Glacial Chasm". Easy to play when I've got a "land-returner" in play and Baba ready: Sacrifce Glacial Chasm to Baby Baba, do normal turn, return Glacial Chasm to the board. Opponents can't deal me damage, I can attack, and the Cumulative Upkeep is always 2 life and nothing more. Lovin' this so much. And I try to theme it more into a "Landfall and Token"-Deck with cards such as Chatterfang, Tireless xys, Servo Schematic, Gilded Goose and furthermore. I do not know what will come out of this - and I'm loving it. :D
I love these kinds of decks that can be stuffed to the gills with random uncommons, it usually seems like golgari decks end up that way when I build them. Crop Sigil from SOI is one of my favorite cards ever and no one knows what it is whenever I play it.
JOEY I HAVE A QUESTION Given that you like multi-typed permanents, you draw a ton of cards, and you tend to blow up your lands, is there a reason you don’t have walking atlas in your list?
Just played my first few games with my "Baba's Your Uncle" deck. Thanks Joey for bringing this to me. Was super fun and will only get better as I get some more games in with it. Baba with Vito was my favourite!
Two things I would like to know from Joey about Baba Lysaga since I also finally built this deck: 1. Isn’t Bequeathal also kind of a bomb in this deck? 2. How important are cards that give “no maximum hand size” when we draw so much? Awesome video like always btw.
Blossoming Bogbeast/Pathbreaker Ibex + Mirrorweave/Sakashima's Will/Echoing Equation is the centrepiece combo for my own deck. Gotta love a sneaky Bogbeast!
Regarding the balance between removal, permanent types AND politics, I've thrown in parallax dementia and lignify in my own brew. They're removal you can retract at will for value/deal-making, both are enchantments and lignify is tribal!
New Wrenn and the Realmbreaker seems like a perfect card for Baby Lasagna. Animate lands? Check... Emblem with permament recursion? Sure thing! However, it could be challenging to keep Wrenn long enough to ultimate her. But once you do, the train never stops.
was just looking through cards for urtet and thought myr landshaper would be an interesting choice for redundancy with liquimetal torque. It is only turning lands into artifact lands, but it itself is an artifact creature for when you are too tired of sacrificing all of your lands in the later turns
How Joey feels about baby lasagna, is how I feel about my Ganax/Iron throne deck. There are so many silly interactions I can do with that deck. Its pricy to build but man it ramps quick and burns quick
have you thought about playing dead drop in your baba lysaga deck bc your graveyard will be pretty loaded most of the time and you can use it on yourself or an opponent
I'm wondering if Token generation could provide reliable ammunition for this deck. In that case, Doubling Season and Parallel Lives could come in handy...
Joey I think you should consider Belbe Corrupted Observer. 6 mana is a lot and your deck is already doing it. I know you like instant speed but 6 MANA 6!
Is there a deck list for this specific deck? I’d like to compare it to my baba deck. I clicked on the link but it just takes me to the normal edhrec listing
All our decks are linked in the description :) Make sure to click on the deck's name instead of the commander's name edhrec.com/articles/edhrecast-our-decks/
RE: Demonic Lore- If you aren't regularly sacrificing an enchantment and are instead sacrificing a land with Baby Lasagna's ability, you could honestly view Demonic Lore as 'ramping' because its not setting you back a mana. Just food for thought.
I listen to your podcast on Spotify. What's up with the horrible 2-minute long pre-roll ads?! They take so long, it starts to feel like a bait-and-switch.
I really want this deck to be good but tbh it just isn't. I've been goldfishing with it for 5 days now and I just saw Joey play it in Tolarian Community College's video and it just isn't consistent. It doesn't feel like a deck that's trying to do anything in particular and just sacrifices for drawing but the rewards isn't worth the sacrifice. It's janky, I'm sure it could be fun but it's not winning a lot that's for sure.
This deck is great, and so was the episode, and I know Joey loves this deck....but I'm not going to lie, I kinda wish we got a different deck considering this deck already has its own video.
Matt's reaction to the segway joke is PRICELESS
It truly hurt my side for 5 minutes after
His confusion morphing to bewilderment when the word segue dropped from Dana's lips 😭

The defeat in joeys eyes at the Segway joke actually killed me omg 😂
"It's important to commit - you HAVE to do the thing. Take risks, make mistakes, and get messy! Nom nom lands."
-Joey. Paraphrased.
Hearing Joey say that he sandbags his baba activations typically for the turn before his is really eye opening. I'd love to see the Decks vs. Data series again sometime soon!
The reaction on Matt and Joey's faces on that Segway was priceless 😂❤
Absolutely legendary Segway segway.
Segway segue*
The Segway joke was so good. I was laughing so hard my boss came in to make sure I was okay
Am use to Joey losing it when Dana does/says something random or weird but Matt's reaction to the segway bit was pure joy to watch. It pretty much broke him, in a good way.
It's a funny coincidence that all 3 decks you looked at in this little miniseries had a few minutes talking about fun interactions with creaturelands.
Ive really enjoyed watching you all talk about your deckbuilding choices!

Instantly grabbed him for Baba!
After watching baba at the summit on quintessentials channel I was hooked. Absolutely amazing fun for a commander deck
I've never seen Matt laugh so much as he did in that segway and i gotta say, i love it
That was one of the most hilarious segways I've ever seen in this channel 😂😂😂
This 3 part series has been some of my favorite. Really hope you'll all do this again with another deck each in the future.
One of the cards that is really frustrating for my enemies is "Glacial Chasm".
Easy to play when I've got a "land-returner" in play and Baba ready:
Sacrifce Glacial Chasm to Baby Baba, do normal turn, return Glacial Chasm to the board.

You can see the life drain from Joey’s eyes in that segway. Good thing he’ll gain three next turn.
I love these kinds of decks that can be stuffed to the gills with random uncommons, it usually seems like golgari decks end up that way when I build them. Crop Sigil from SOI is one of my favorite cards ever and no one knows what it is whenever I play it.
Dana strikes once again with the out of left field segways!
JOEY I HAVE A QUESTION
Given that you like multi-typed permanents, you draw a ton of cards, and you tend to blow up your lands, is there a reason you don’t have walking atlas in your list?
Just played my first few games with my "Baba's Your Uncle" deck. Thanks Joey for bringing this to me. Was super fun and will only get better as I get some more games in with it. Baba with Vito was my favourite!
Weird seeing Joey talk about Bequeathal because that's a card I play in my Chatterfang deck. It's great budget card draw.
I dont think Matt has ever laughed that much!! Ever! And Dana did it!
Liked INSTANTLY at the Segway. Dana is a gem.
Joey you’re gonna love Conduit of Worlds on this deck, please try it out and tell me what you think!!!
Loved this triplet, Hope we get to see more episodes on this format!
Two things I would like to know from Joey about Baba Lysaga since I also finally built this deck:
1. Isn’t Bequeathal also kind of a bomb in this deck?
2. How important are cards that give “no maximum hand size” when we draw so much?
Awesome video like always btw.
Bequeathal is definitely cool :] Joey likes reanimating cards he discards to hand size, but no-max-hand-size could be great for tons of Baba players
Never change the intro tune…gets me excited for the content every-time!
2023 is peak intro and segway year already
Blossoming Bogbeast/Pathbreaker Ibex + Mirrorweave/Sakashima's Will/Echoing Equation is the centrepiece combo for my own deck. Gotta love a sneaky Bogbeast!
Regarding the balance between removal, permanent types AND politics, I've thrown in parallax dementia and lignify in my own brew. They're removal you can retract at will for value/deal-making, both are enchantments and lignify is tribal!
19:56 please watch this anyone who needs it 😂😂😭
Matt's reaction 🤣
Matt getting absolutely SENT
I just remembered about your Coalesce partnership and I call it EDHRECollection
You don't have to leave it at those 3 episodes. I wouldn't mind more
I love this channel alot .....lots of good ideas
New Wrenn and the Realmbreaker seems like a perfect card for Baby Lasagna. Animate lands? Check... Emblem with permament recursion? Sure thing! However, it could be challenging to keep Wrenn long enough to ultimate her. But once you do, the train never stops.

Pharika, God of Affliction, Renowned Weaver, Pheres-Band Raiders. All three are repeatable ways to make enchantment creature tokens for Baba to eat.
have you thought about playing dead drop in your baba lysaga deck bc your graveyard will be pretty loaded most of the time and you can use it on yourself or an opponent
Episode starts at 4:25
You can try Yedora, Grave Gardener in Lasaga. Sac your creatures twice!
I have a Ghave deck that does many similar things, so I can feel Joey's excitement when he talks about it 😂
I'm curious about the card mortuary. It seems potentially good. You just draw the creatures you sac.
I'm wondering if Token generation could provide reliable ammunition for this deck. In that case, Doubling Season and Parallel Lives could come in handy...
Is there any room for things like Illusionist's Bracers or Lithoform Engine? So that you get double of her ability?
I love the segway joke because I've actually met Dean before with FIRST FRC
The inventer of the Segway was also killed by his invention, which added a touch of black to that joke.
Quick question: is the new tyvar Planeswalker a good addition for this Deck?
Please do these episodes all the time.
Joey I think you should consider Belbe Corrupted Observer. 6 mana is a lot and your deck is already doing it. I know you like instant speed but 6 MANA 6!
I wonder if joey has Staff of Titania in the deck.
I hope you do an Upping the Average on Feldon of the Third Path soon
Can I get a link to the decklist so I can give the deck a try myself?
All our decklists are always linked in the description :D edhrec.com/articles/edhrecast-our-decks/
Is there a deck list for this specific deck? I’d like to compare it to my baba deck. I clicked on the link but it just takes me to the normal edhrec listing
All our decks are linked in the description :) Make sure to click on the deck's name instead of the commander's name
edhrec.com/articles/edhrecast-our-decks/
I'm hoping to learn more about Neceomancy from Joey here.
The Segway segue needs to be a Short.
There's a bug on EDHREC. I searshed for Baby Lasagna and I've got no hit. Please, fix this ! I'm interested in this commander.
the real treasure was the segways we stole from Joey along the way 😆😆
I think tiller engine would be an interesting include
Read the title as Aristocats and now I want to see a cat tribal deck doing aristocrats things
please do more decks!!!!
llanowar loamspeaker can't make a blocker because it's ability is sorcery speed only
Aside from the commander, where the the draw/advantage? I'd be nervous if the commander dies and you're sitting with nothing to do.
I guess me and the other Horror lovers were the only ones who liked Innistrad Double feature art lol
It sounds like this deck just instantly concedes to getting their commander killed twice in the early game.
Baba, in a lot of European languages, roughly translates to old woman, or grandma 🇲🇰
Oh boy Osgir is such a haus with Ugin's Nexus.
bruh that was the segway to segway all segways
I lose almost always but at least I have fun, typa deck tech lmao 🤣
Not sure if it was spoken about in the episode, but myr propagator would be a good one for this deck as it makes copies of itself l.
RE: Demonic Lore- If you aren't regularly sacrificing an enchantment and are instead sacrificing a land with Baby Lasagna's ability, you could honestly view Demonic Lore as 'ramping' because its not setting you back a mana. Just food for thought.
So basically, people who don't like politicking should play a Baba Lysaga deck? Got it.
Them being surprised that common and uncommon cards tells me all three of them need to build more budget decks
All these Daddies. Rawr
I'm a little surprised Joey didn't notice how good Bequeathal could be in Baby Lasagna. Enchant any artifact creature with it and you draw 5 on sac.
I listen to your podcast on Spotify. What's up with the horrible 2-minute long pre-roll ads?! They take so long, it starts to feel like a bait-and-switch.
Embrace the weird. Daddy matt morgan
I really want this deck to be good but tbh it just isn't. I've been goldfishing with it for 5 days now and I just saw Joey play it in Tolarian Community College's video and it just isn't consistent. kinda jenk but nuisance engine would be cute in this deck!
This deck is great, and so was the episode, and I know Joey loves this deck....but I'm not going to lie, I kinda wish we got a different deck considering this deck already has its own video.
Baba lysaga is like golgari anji just keep cycling through cards via sacrifice it kinda feels boring after the novelty of it where's off.
Matt's repeating jokes now. He's definitely done C in the dark before.
S E G W A Y is now blasphemous act. Wiped Joey and Matt out of the game.
