  • ADHD is not usually included in the list of Serious Mental Illnesses (SMI), but it causes more suffering, death, and financial loss than many conditions on that list. But we should probably not be using the term SMI at all. Are some mental illnesses humorous? trivial?

@@DrJohnKruse I sure will! Can you someday do a video on men with clinical anxiety? I feel like it's so relevant for millennials especially and there's so much societal pressure on them to provide and succeed. Let alone the pressure for them to keep their emotions inside.

I think it is, but therapists don’t take it seriously. I was diagnosed late in life so my executive function skills are poor and once my estrogen levels dropped I lost the one thing that had helped me be pseudo normal. Now I’m faltering and struggling with my work and home life. I can’t seem to find anyone to help me.

With that background noise I'm going to watch the video tomorrow after having taken my stimulants. 😜 Can't focus on it tonight any more. 😅
By the way, I love your videos. I find them extremely informative, and I appreciate all the work, you've put into them.
Technical issues can easily occur. 😄

I appreciate the feedback. Some of the older videos I probably should retape - when we invent a 25th or 26th hour in the day!

Serious severe adhd i think is worse then mild to medium bipolar and shizoprenia
The problem is the mild and misdiagnosed adhd people in the comments and scociety and the many many false believes about adhd and false stereotypes its only about attention and timemanagement and can mostly be fixed by organizers and timeplaning
Thats totally wrong i refer to the most cited adhd researcher russel barkley
I have no fun in my life and while i was diagnosed with depression it was not much worse but it sertainly was nasty but if your fully functioning i dont think depression is worse only the most brutal severe forms.
But motivated people oobby selfishly and adhd are some of the least motivated and most impared so they will be left out, also because of the insane knowlage gap about adhd and the amount of conspiracys about the trivial nature about the disorder and the superpowers it may give.

Dr John Kruse I would like to tell you from my 5x Diagnosed Adhd.
Many people seem to view Impulsivity slightly wrong.
Here is what people think Impulsivity looks like:
    - "A happy distracted creative kid does not know he should not go to mcdonalds and do more sport is impulsive. Oh how funny, Jimmy is a late starter!"
Here is what it actually looks like, and how it fits better with the data about adhd people from large population studys:
-" You feel more punishment if you don't do bad things, and less reward for doing the right things. You perfectly know what you should eat and do more sport and you try relly hard and talk about it more than all your peers that seemingly even have fun doing it, you have 0 friends because your brain seems to be turned off and you seem to be depressed without the sadness aktually you might even look happy and energetic because you relly try to compensate by hyping yourself u, but in the end of the day you will be exhausted and unsatisfyed and if you force yourself you will get anxiety and depression."
Did i mention utterly friendless if its severe? (look it up, mild cases usually have less friends severe 0 friends or maybe 1 that they reeeeeeeelly try hard for but never relly form a lasting friendship and its more out of desperation to at least have 1 friend).
Medication perfectly tiltrated (very very rare because clinitions have no time, but if your lucky you have a large margen of effective Dose Range) change my tone of voice, entusjasm and social intuition, as if my brain suddenly works more for me and tryes to figure out how to get and keep friends. They change a lot more, and i never worry about being distrated by birds or having too much energy, that is just when i feel very bad and i am driven, but the older i get the more does my drive reduce and i get tired and depressed/lack of drive. I instantly was seen as way more sympatic once when i was a child and got a spesific dose of meds, it changed my view of fairness in this world and it seemed like magic. Thats when i realized how insanely biological and complex humans are without realizing it in the slightest.

      Hey!
Dr. Kruse is working on re-uploading his older live-streamed videos into edited videos with fixed audio. He has already started uploading some of them in the video section if you'd prefer to check those out.
      Have a good day!
