did the wheels hit the fenders making it skid/take off?
Hello!
Rc Saylors! I want to mention that the Receiver Gyro comes Reverse out of factory and also full 100% which makes for terrible controll and performance which makes the car crash relatively easily.
A Fellow UA-camr Tomley RC Had the same RC car and ran perfectly, took turns perfectly and ran very smoothly.
So yeah out of the factory you need to tune the Gyro if not just change the receiver and get it on another go.
Hope this works for you two also merry christmass!
I was going to say the same that the gyro needs to be turned upside down as from factory it doesn't counter steer and instead turns more in the direction you don't want it to hence it just spins out.
I'd turn it upside down and try your speed run again 👍🏻
@thercsaylors don’t worry. Talbot had a bad time with the same car. It has issues. Thank you for the honest opinion you guys give us.
THERE IS A SWITCH TO CHANGE THE GYRO TO THE CORRECT SETTING.
TOMLEY SHOWS HOW!!
Do these two things before you run it on 3S...
1 : Press the button on the receiver three times to set the gyro the correct way..
2 : Take a little bit of material off the rear diffuser to stop the tyres catching & making the car lose control or fit different tyres.
(when the tyres balloon on 3S they catch the rear diffuser)
I don't understand people complaining about the tyres..
The problem isn't the tyres, this HSP chassis wasn't originally made so wide & it didn't have such a large rear diffuser, they've altered it for this release & now there's a smaller space for the tyre.!
Get a pair of scissors or snips & take about 5 millimeters off the diffuser & a tiny bit off the chassis & it'll be spot on.!
Those tyres are actually fantastic, they have loads of grip, especially in the wet & they last quite a while.. They're the best wet tyres I've ever had.. So much so I've bought a few extra sets for my other touring cars.
This chassis is extremely precise, it slides beautifully, it's really quick & fast, it's durable & it's super smooth.. It really is an absolute joy drive.!!.
I LOVE IT.!!
I've had my FTX version for nearly two months now, I've driven it a lot (on 3S), I've fitted a couple of different bodies to it (the Killerbody Nissan R34 looks AMAZING & fits perfectly with velcro) & it's now become one of my favorite 1/10 on road chassis, it's better than all my Tamiyas, my HPI RS4 Sport 3, my 4tec, my Banzai & it's up there with my Hobao EPX.!
Yes, the quality of the hardware & shock springs could be better because they've started to rust due to the wet salted Scottish roads I drive on & the bearings aren't great.
The salty water got in & they started collapsing after a couple of weeks... I've replaced them with decent rubber shielded ones & it's perfect now.!
I've had 59 MPH out of mine so far & it's so planted at high speed.!!... You can practically nail it off the line & not touch the steering for the whole run (most of my other 1/10 stuff won't do that).
I usually drive mine with the gyro turned fully off, it doesn't need it imho.!
I cant recommend this RC enough..
YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.!!
As long as you do those two things as soon as you get it out the box if you're going to run it 3S.!!
I don't know how much the HNR Panther version is in the US, but I paid £240 for mine..
The lovely Hobbywing brushless system, radio gear, servo, stand alone light kit & 2S lipo alone would cost about 75% of that price.!!
It's an absolute bargain... Even if it didn't really drive very well & broke all the time, it would STILL be worth it.!!
... ... ...
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY, STAY SAFE OUT THERE & BEST WISHES FROM SCOTLAND 🏴 🙏 ❤️ 📻 🕹️ 🔋 🚗 🚖 🚕 🚔 🚚 🚙 🚘 🚓 🚒 🚑 🚐 🚎 🚤 🚁 🛩️
If this is the same model- have you changed the direction of the gyro? Ive seen 2 youtubers (tomley rc & Kevin Kalbot) who reported, that the gyro was reversed out of the box. If so its undrivable. As soon as you correct that issue. It will drive just fine. You just need to push a small button on the reciver, or so.
Gyro is reversed out of the box. Might be your issue. You can reverse it with the button on the receiver.
Gives a whole new meaning to, "I'll just take a few seconds and order a body kit for it." 🤣
I've seen in another persons review of a similar one ( FTX Stinger) the gyro was correcting in the wrong direction. so the gyro is definitely an issue go through the gyro settings and see if you can fix it for your enjoyment. thanks for the review for the out of the box experience
These have a gyro that are set up the wrong way from the factory. You can change the gyro direction with a button on the esc.
I had the same issue with the gyro, but pressing the button twice on the side of the receiver didn't work for me so I removed it and pushed the button twice on the other side and now it works perfect. I only found this out as someone else had the same problem. If you're thinking of buying one don't let the negative comments put you off, its a superb car.
kudos to tomleyrc who is the only one who actually did research on this car and found the problem and the easy fix
Ah, that's what RTR means. "Ready To Research" 🤔
@@MrGoat73 yes its factory defect but the minimum you can do when something is wrong is to atleast research for 5 minutes and using google
If you can't fix something this simple this hobby ain't for you
It’s a switch on the receiver for the giro I believe. Tomleyrc sussed it and Kev Talbot only found out after he’d driven over two of them out of frustration.
I noticed the gyro was reversed on mine too but I tried drifting first so was really obvious!
From my point of view one should always check the gyro direction before using it the first time…. Did you check it or at least did you do it afterwards?
out of the box the gyro is going the wrong direction
I saw this car on Kevin Talbot's channel. And what you need to do is you need to reverse and adjust steering on the assisted gyro
when did he do the video.. I didnt see it on his page.
@coryjamesc look for his video that says realistic crash. You'll see a picture of the hellcat and the damage done
It's a beautiful looking RC. I think $250 is a little bit too much for it, but I love the color, and speed on it.
Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍
It will be $500 if it is Traxxas!
Maybe the extra weight of your gps on the boot caused lift at the front and hence making it flip? 🙂
Hi guys! Within the first ten seconds of this video I said to myself "good luck with that one guys" reason being is that I've seen many reviews of this model and no one has managed to get this car up to anywhere near the claimed speeds on the box. Everyone that has tried or even got close results in the car going airborne and worse. I knew right away that you had zero chance. Don't beat yourselves up guys, had you have managed to reach box speeds whilst keeping the car in one piece it would have been a world first. Infact I've seen folks get that frustrated with this model that they ended up destroying two of them by purposely driving over them with a 4000lb landrover.
Honestly, your comment makes both of us feel a LOT better about our driving ability or lack thereof. I feel like I did okay hitting 49mph (I think that’s what I hit) but I definitely destroyed it when I did that!! Poor car. It looks so good!! 👍💯⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors Noooo! To be honest you did really well to reach 49mph, I've seen ppl trying for 20mins just trying to keep this car in a straight line and still didn't manage 49mph before totaling it. 👍🏻
@@TheRcSaylors It's such a shame really because I agree, the car looks absolutely gorgeous.. I was gonna get one until I saw the troubles ppl were having with it. Maybe a decent set of tyres would make a difference? Although that said I believe there is also a massive aero issue with that bodyshell and those speeds. I could be wrong. 😁
Its the gyro they come from the factory i Reverse thats why it would not run
I believe if you looked at that suspension, and actually measured everything, I would almost bet money that you would realize that that is a smooth payment vehicle as in an actual track. I’m not being smart, I promise honestly, but that’s a track car there’s no way that thing gonna handle any kind of bumps at those speeds, especially with the steering set so sensitively.
Its such a badly designed car....i despise mine😐
The gyros was in reverse when I bought mine I had to hold set button down on reciever and reverse it after that it was awesome
Kevin Talbot destroyed his. His friend Andy did too. Andy rebuilt them and figured out the gyro was backwards
The car is not designed for that road condition. You guys both did a great job.
Imagine how it would perform on an absolutely flat surface like in a gym! Still pretty sweet ride.
Great honest video, witch you guys always do. Thanks
I think Kevin Talbot did a video on this too and the Gyro was on backwards ir something.
You can fix the gyro by pressing a button on the side of the gyro to reverse it. Several UA-camrs have shown that the gyro comes out of the box programmed wrong.
Great looking car, for sure! Love the color! That thing accelerates like crazy! 🙂
Powerful, and it has the looks!! Too bad it couldn’t hold up to its own power. Thanks for tuning in! 👍💯😎⚓️
There’s been a few videos of these now , 100% the gyro is plugged in backwards causing you to lose control, Kev talbot and tomley Rc had the same issues
I think you y'all are doing an excellent job ❤
It's called a Ftx stinger in the uk.out of the box but I have seen the gyro is often set in the wrong direction. Ftx is great for cheap spares. I have the ftx brushless zoro and it has been amazing. This may be their first failure out of the box, but with a little work, it could be amazing .
I have the car you got to reverse the gyro I hit 61mph with a powerhobby 3s 120c 6000mah lipo all stock
I kinda think manufactures defect with the tires peeling and tires rubbing right out the box. Don't think it was Sailors fault. Nice job Sailors.
Happy new year !!
these are shipping with giro reversed, you need to remove receiver from car and access button on hidden side, press it twice and change giro to correct direction and reinstall receiver
That's indeed what it looked like, as soon as it slightly deviates from a straight line, it veers off instantly
Looks like awesome fun most repoed vehicle ever 🤣 great video 👍🏻👍🏻
Hey, I covered all the issues you discovered in this video in my review which is why I didn't run mine. Was this with the sway bar fitted?
I saw someone else demo this car. It had the same issues.
Great car guys
Why get this when you can get the Vendetta for $50 less??? lol
Because they already own one or two
@@Xofroggy no because they get paid to sell these if it is good or not that is not the point
I added some weights to mine to keep it on the ground. It actually helped. Kinda like ship balast.
That car was strictly made for drifting. And yes, Nate broke it the bash queen camp break a car, unless it’s bashed, and that one didn’t get bashed it chewed itself up.
Yeah reverse gyro or avc, I made that mistake with a roller - once. Is this the same as the FTX Stinger? Body and specs look good…
I don’t blame either of you, bad out of the box, I mean no control is no control - I think you did what you could. For what it’s worth, I do not use avc/tsm/gyro for speed runs usually, if I do it’s way dialed down…
It's the fault of the manufacturer, that's an half baked car that was made just to say 56 mph on the box
I think a dremmel on hand would be a good edc for you guys lol.
I really enjoy your honesty Keven Talbots had the same issues with this car he hit a concrete barrier with it
Kev is crazyyy
You did bring the tire changing tools, but didn't exchange the tires to the drift tires? Pity
Happy new years rcsailers I. Think you should worry about what other people say and continue with the maidens there all great my favorite video is Nate flying the xk 100 helicopter where he learned to fly 3d that is my goal I've also got airplanes and cars and trucks but my favorite things are helicopters
What happened to the drift tires ?
Gyro is upside down from factory, turn it around and try again so it won't spin out
The car is sexy as heck but it will need some upgrades for sure. And as for people who say you only say good things. We can see with our eyes that it was a dud. We can see all the flaws that happen in real time. Some people are just anger addicts and need to put others down. May you and your family have a happy and HEALTHY 2024!
I was waiting for u to put on the drift tires at least u definitely need to upgrade the wheels and tires.
You
I hate when English teachers comment on videos. Don’t U???
@@smoothrc28 "I hate IT when English teachers comment on videos" 8 out of 10. Unfortunately, you're still missing key words from your sentences. See me after class.
Yaaaaaasssssss more send! 🐈⬛
Happy New Year’s Eve Nate & Abby!
Hey Abby and Nate.
Its the gyro, its in backwards.
PUSH THE BUTTON ON THE SIDE TWICE.
I put street tires on a Bandit and I couldn't get any speed out of it because the tires were so hard. I was told to soften them with eather brake fluid or lighter fluid. I ended up going back to the original tires. They are soft and wear out quickly, but at least they grab. Your name came up at the airfield today concerning reviews of planes and helicopters and how much more truthful you are than those being sponsored by the company. I really see no reason to invest in that car as I can see issues with it. Looks mean nothing unless you are building static models. Good job on the rating. I agree. Mabe a scoring system would work. People like scoring.
.....still like to see the Proboat JS back before winter sets in, there must be some flowing water near you by now
Maybe some Foam tires would work really well on there....? Or some properly glued tires...? Good looking car though and a Fun drifter! 😁👍🏼
Back when I raced 1/10 on-road, we didn’t have speeds and power like this. That said, we would soak the surface to make it sticky, and run hand cut foam tires. Decent tires might fix the issues with this car.
I remember those days of soaking the track with Hawaiian punch and rubbing tire compound on or foams
Me too. I ran carpet oval with foam tires. Then use a tire truer and cut them down to almost nothing. Plus a lot of tire traction compound!!
These cars are coming with giro set up wrong, it corrects the wrong way, it's a rocket once sorted
If i hear rubbing i pull over my real car as well as my rc car to see whats causing issue...with rc cars its easy to check for tires hitting while holding car...if you don't know how tires balloon way more on 3s than with 2s you in the wrong...imo 40 mph top speed for a car that size in very fast...thats the the same as full size version doing 400 mph...
seeing so many comments saying the car is junk just because a tyre came off and it cant do 56mph, wow, there is more to RC than what a car can do in a straight line
You guys should look into reviewing some new Rlaarlo cars......also the ftx supaforza Gt 1/7
Definitely a great looking car. I don’t think it would be a bad purchase for an experienced RC hobbies. But for a beginner? Probably look at a better known brand.
looks like some tire glue would help and maybe just 2 s.
I’d definitely keep this to 2S and would have probably avoided this. At least prolonged it. Thanks for tuning in!! 👍💯😎⚓️
I have a red cat tornado. All I did was I went to 1/8 scale street tires to increase the gearing and it will do 62 mile an hour in stock trim.
It should be aTamiya hitting 50 mph.😂
Why didn’t u put on the drift tires?
I was hoping to see it with the drift tires
I think it was just fine. When I try speed runs. Which is not to often. First I would make sure it’s going in a straight line. Then totally take all steering out. Check to make sure it’s going straight. You don’t have to drive fast to see if it’s going straight. This way it doesn’t matter if you over correct . Or you have a gyro. Turn the steering back up at the end of the straight. So you can turn around. We used to do this when I raced carpet oval. One guy made a switch on his transmitter. That gave him full steering if he got into trouble. We had no reverse. So we bought esc’s with no reverse. It was a long time ago. Brushless and Lipo’s were not out yet. We had just enough steering to take the corner. You had to take the corners just right. Or you would come out wide and hit the wall. The guys that didn’t listen to us and kept full steering were all twitchy and never did good. Just my 2cents. Hope you read this!! I think your channel is great. Don’t listen to the babble!! lol 👍👍👍
I like the color
Dont forget to warm up the tires
That is true that super cold tires could perform really poorly. Do you think the warm car ride is enough or should they be even warmer for a speed run like this? ⚓️
I was thinking that too
@@TheRcSaylors yes, but more important is if there is a gyro it should be calibrated and also, steering sensitivity should be almost maxed out meaning it shouldn't allow the car to turn easily. Less sensitivity. I would adjust it so a full rotation equals the least amount of reaction.
I race RC cars. But there is some set up work you should do. Make sure the ride height is not raked forward (level so the rear squats under throttle.) And make you have a little toe out in the front end. It helps make not feel so twitchy.
He’s on Demon 😈 time!!!!
I wanted to see it with the drift tires. It may be a great drifter but well never know
I heard that you have to check the gyro setting also, may be reversed. I'm hoping that it's all simple solutions, mine is backordered...
Yeah I wouldn't want to buy something I know I'm immediately going to have to work on to get it to perform properly...
Happy new year guys 🎉
Looks awesome...but 🤔🤔the lack of control....not sure....
Aarma makes one similar but its got some upgrades to keep it strait
Straight?
Like you mentioned, the back tyres are ballooning and hits the body
Lots of comments about reversing the gyro. Hope this is why its causing loss of control
$250 for this… i personally will pass 👍🏻
It's no blame game....the downforce in the front. and rear spoiler...i like the toy. any info about the MJX High speed???
Seems like a beast... just needs modifications...lift the body up. This car is definitely an 8 out of 10 trust me.
the gyro is usually set wrong on these cars , plus the tyres expand and scrape on the rear diffuser and body shell and crash the car well before top speed is achieved .
That car needs a set of goodyear tires.😊
When I look at those things I feel like they are designed for large gymnasium floors or something.
Love you guys you give honest & fair reviews!! I've bought an airplane a drone and a car all off your recommendations and watching your videos and they were exactly as your videos described & you described & were great!
usually cars this fast have a gyro to help control the steering at high speeds. i would investigate it. also the steering rate should be set low low. At least until you can keep it going strait.
the gyro mabe rong way . in uk it is a ftx
Not sure if you know , but the tires on this ballon into the chassis causing it to lose control. It will the the claimed speeds it says. It just needs harder tires. HNR is at fault for this as they have known this for a year now. 2s will not cause the ballooning. Other than that it’s a great car!
This RC is modeld after the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye. I have the 1:72 scale RC car based upon the based upon the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye. It's a nice micro-RC car. Unfortunately, this larger sized RC seems to be a tad...touchy shall we say. 🙂 If they sold the body/lights to fit some other platform, it would be a must-buy body...but although it looks like it has great parts on the website, it just doesn't come together. 😞
All it needs is now is to be chased by a repo truck.😂
Ftx sell it as a 2s street drift car .no max speed on the box either
Yeah definitely needs better softer tyres mate. Manufacturing fault on the tires and is it a rear wheel drive or 4wd ?. Because it's driving like a rear wheel drive
Well ya did hit 40s seems a bit light and those tires kinda suck . Try it again later with better tires and we'll see
It’s a realistic car that’s a challenger. The stock tires in the challenger can’t even grip. It spins the tires all over the place so that’s a realistic so it’s doing what he’s doing.!!
lol
Challenger hellcat SRT it says right there. If you driven a challenger, hellcat or a charger hellcat, you would understand. ..
A Traxxas car did the same thing the tires in the middle split out because it couldn’t handle the speed and it was cheap tires. I want to say it was that nitro car that was quoted 75 mile an hour.
My opinion, you guys did good on that. Keep up the good work. 😬👍
I've got cars too that have so much torque, you can't even drive it full speed. It's just to light I guess. I'll stick to my Heli's. Lol
did they forget to glue them during manufacturing??? and that thing is getting some uplift at higher speeds.... probably need to lower it a little and tune the spoilers to give a little more push down at speed.
If you’d done your research you’d know what the problem is
Maybe foam tires on 3s
seems like youre crashing every single model you reviewed recently eh?
Well, I know what car I'm Not getting! lol
