Many RC boat enthusiasts spend a lot of money and they don't think you can have "real" fun without spending a lot of money. It's the Traxxas fanboy disease, but for boats. They lie to themselves and everyone else that nobody ever in the entire industry makes a decent cheaper alternative. They spent a lot of money and this is how they make themselves feel better about being fanboys\girls to a big corporate ripoff brand who ISN'T their friend. In one word: snobs. RC hobby attracts a lot of snobs who believes (or want to believe) you can't have fun if you don't spend at least $1000 on an RC. I don't think the "action figure" driving the boat helps, honestly. It's a little toy-like and silly decision on Horizon Hobby's part, but that's the only thing I can legitimately point out to laugh at this boat for. But people who habitually pay too much for their RCs like to pretend Horizon Hobby is garbage, when in reality, judging by warranty support (or lack thereof) alone, Horizon Hobby values their customers WAY MORE than Traxxas do. Traxxas warranty support technicians are rude and condescending. They (Traxxas warranty claims employees) assume all Traxxas owners are morons, and I can kind of see why... what other brand can sell a $130 hex driver kit made in China? What other company can sell $250 brushed 2WD trucks by the boatload ? I won't label all Traxxas owners as sub-human doormats, but it seems like many are proud of their doormat status and they like to insult everyone who has fun playing with other brands, especially Horizon Hobby brands, because they're legitimately better than Traxxas.

It is really awesome, I do wish it had self-righting though. It's a stunt boat, and if you flip it over having fun, you will be scrambling trying to recover it before it sinks.

That's why I liked my twin motor jet boat, I abandoned the wheel for the most part and just would steer using the throttles. Besides I'm dyslexic and it's easy to bring up the "wrong throttle" automatically (in other words, you bring up the left to turn right). I'd just hold both sides with one hand and face my fist where I wanted to go 🤣

O i can beleive it if talk to him a few times on the phone hes proud of that boat and u can tell hes the type of guy that cant handel honestly becuse he thinks its perfect the way it is.i agree with yall that for a 1000 dollers he could have put the stuckers on.. I was new to rc thought it was the coolest thing cuz no one else had a basher then had it a couple months and wanted more out of it and i cant leave anything stock and thats when i relized scott made the boat the way he wanted it and no one was gunna change that. Is what it is i dont hate the boat just wish he would offer some upgrades
Nate you need to read the instructions, so you know its capabilities, and what all of them little buttons do before you get out there on the water, best boat of boat week!!

Funky looking boat. It sorta looks like those small twisty muddy canal racers. Next time you go to the ocean take this. Bet it would jump & ride the waves great. Fun boat, great lights. ⚓️⚓️👍💚💛🧡👍⚓️⚓️.
This thing is like a scale crawler looks great but you definitely cant bash or whitewater with it. Theres already multiple complaints of the hull cracking on small river runs. Theres a video of the Thrasher dropping a 230ft waterfall and still going! I respect these guys for what they do but Thrasher stands alone at the top.
The Pro Boat Jetstream does take damage when ran straight at speed into the side of a bolder sticking out of the water. Rocks under the water, it skips across just fine like the real Mojo h2o. Definitely weaker scale details on top of the boat. Was the Thrasher going off the 230 ft waterfall onto bolders or into a deep pool of water? Really depends on how you hit something with boats (high speed, glancing, straight on).
@@kiwiboater Your hypothesis that an inflatable paddle board, myself, and a vacuum formed mostly hollow model boat, would have the same terminal velocity falling through air,... is unsupported.
Awesome boat. My older jet boat (Patrol Boat) would get beached from time to time. I’d just have my younger kiddos jump in and play in the creek. They loved it and I didn’t have to get muddy. 😊
@@TheRcSaylorscorrect just like in real life for all jet skies and boats. That feature is so you have the ability to go in reverse. All bit it’s slow. Without it you have no option to go in reverse.
@TheRcSaylors it's made to work at low throttle. It directs the jet stream to the front pushing it in reverse. On mine I think it works awesome. Set the trim at the maximum without hitting the transom so you get the most from the thrust
I know I was yelling at my screen. "Nate, it's a reverse bucket. And don't use it with full throttle.!"😂🤣 Maybe he should have read the directions if he didn't know about these things.

Get going at full throttle on a straight run, let off the throttle. Turn the wheel full Left or Right and then nail the throttle. You'll do a nose burying 360. I found this out by mistake the first time I rode a jet ski 😄 freaked me out the first time, then I started doing it on porpoise (pun intended)
larger ,self righting,better materials ,CNC Metal Impeller, stainless mountings, faster ,6s esc and looks better,the latter obviously in my opinion.@@paulclancy2404
If the $1,000 boat you're talking about is the Streamline Thrasher- I think it is only fair mention the *huge* disadvantage this has in lack of self-righting. I would be very nervous to drive this is in whitewater!

I'm get one forsure I just hope I can get away with in salt water if I flush it out afterwards, the boats are repairable like rcs if you break I don't think much to them but I get had friend use rc few times sell it newish lose some money but have alot towards new - I'm too hard on stuff and if I'm not I wouldn't want to sell so arrma boat I'm sold , my backyard track up against the canal

Not sure if you have been on some real jet boats, the the tube on the back is for reverse. Since most jet boats are direct drive, they need a what to divert water backwards. Most jetskis have it too. They donw work well with WOT.
Great boat but the back end is very weak with the adjustable trim tabs. Mine were broken off within two batteries and I barely touched any rocks. the corner of the skid plate is broken off at the back as well. I think they should have just made different angle trim tabs that could be swapped out and screwed right to the bottom of the boat or clipped in somehow. maybe they should have just found a happy medium and made them solid. I am going to make something better than the extremely delicate trim tabs that are (were) on there now. other than that it is really fun and easy to use. I really like the battery hold down system they use that clips right in. Makes it quick and easy to change.
Sorry, this boat looks fun but is a joke compared to the $1000 boat you mention. The Thrasher is miles ahead, you can see that at first glance when you see the proboat in the water. Impossible to master real rapids with it....
I also can t believe they mocked the thrasher for having a bilge pump because it takes on water when they know that it does that because that’s how it self rights
I don't have class VI rapids by me to run in. I have shallow streams and lakes with rocks and tree branches in them. Buying a 6S dual battery powered jet boat for $1000 seems extreme. The 4S single battery Pro Boat is a better choice for some. Kids love the look of the Jetstream. But when I claimed the driver looked like me, the kids pointed out that my hair is grey, not blonde. 🙄

I don't think it can sink. Foam tube in the front for flotation. Deck cover also has scale foam decking so it floats if separated.
Biff from Back To The Future...that's the driver. This boat is fun-awesome. It would make a powerful recovery boat as well.

B is for backup, lowering the chute makes the water go toward the front of the boat and pushes it backwards

We had a probiat riverjet but we sold it because I was scared to run it like I wanted so it wouldn't get broken. This one looks a lot more durable.

Great boat but the back end is very weak with the adjustable trim tabs. Mine were broken off within two batteries and I barely touched any rocks. the corner of the skid plate is broken off at the back as well. I think they should have just made different angle trim tabs that could be swapped out and screwed right to the bottom of the boat or clipped in somehow. maybe they should have just found a happy medium and made them solid. I am going to make something better than the extremely delicate trim tabs that are (were) on there now. other than that it is really fun and easy to use. I really like the battery hold down system they use that clips right in. Makes it quick and easy to change.

You could find a stick with some side limbs and hood that fishing line and bring it over to get it out of the way of the boat.

Sorry, this boat looks fun but is a joke compared to the $1000 boat you mention. The Thrasher is miles ahead, you can see that at first glance when you see the proboat in the water. Impossible to master real rapids with it....
Exactly and that thing is made to do tricks and have fun but the thrasher is just on another level
I also can t believe they mocked the thrasher for having a bilge pump because it takes on water when they know that it does that because that’s how it self rights

I don't have class VI rapids by me to run in. I have shallow streams and lakes with rocks and tree branches in them. Buying a 6S dual battery powered jet boat for $1000 seems extreme. The 4S single battery Pro Boat is a better choice for some. Kids love the look of the Jetstream. But when I claimed the driver looked like me, the kids pointed out that my hair is grey, not blonde. 🙄
