- These 1968 Datsun 520's have sat in my woods entirely too long, it is time to get one of them back on the road!! I was so happy to fire this rig up for the first time!! Unfortunately, there are many issues that are going to have to be delt with before we can go on a first ride. I can hardly contain my excitement, working on these trucks has been so much fun!

Great video! We had a datsun in late 70s early 80s. Sign, I miss the cars of those days!! You really did a terrific job on this vlog. I LOL at the fire, been there, done that!!

Owned an L 520, drove it cross country from garden grove California to New Jersey and then to Florida. It had a bad head gasket ( didn’t know it at the time), super easy to work on. Wish I still had it today!
Can't wait to get back to work on it and get it on the road!
I'm partial to the 521 series Datsun/Nissan trucks, however I'd take both or either of these 520 series trucks. Get a good engine to put in them, work over the interior real nice first cleaning them out real good, sand them down, prime them and sand the primer and paint them a nice color. Then, het two gallons of paint on bed liner and paint the bed up with bed liner. Most of all, get the chassis and floorboards, frame and underneath the bed painted with rust olem black paint to protect them underneath. Love these small trucks. Wish they were still made today.

@@kentuckyyankee I'd even be willing to take the other Datsun/Nissan truck that doesn't have an engine in it, sand it all down and prime it , work it all over and tru and get a newer 720 series engine put into it and get her up and running once again.

Those trucks are awesome. If, maintained they last long a time. I wanna put my myadda engine and tranny in one. oh well some day...
Wow wonder how long it sat for. Engine starting is a great sign. How many miles was on the odometer if it was working. Love the old Datson/Nissan engines they were built to last for ever if you change the oil regularly. The new ones are good but not like the old ones to much electrical and emissions crap. They are very popular here were I live people love to rebuild and sup the engine and race them at the track. Should be a real challenge looking at the condition of them 😱. A lot of sand blasting parts. Love the yankee way of straightening out the steering rod. It looks like a hunt for a new interior parts other than the dash if its not all cracked. 😍 😈

That is a datsun 521. The 520 was a two year only body. 1966/1967
Grandpa used to have the 1973 Datsun hardbody don't ask me what number it was
620 Would be my best guess.
