Beautiful example. These 4.6L motors arn't even broken in until 60K lol. My first Mercury was a 97. I paid $4500 with 128K miles on it, and the car was 21 years old already. I drove the hell outa it and it always looked and ran great. I trailer towed with it as well. Only thing that died on the car was the rear axels, twice :) I parked it with 440K on it. She needed tires, brakes, and the rear axle so I went and bought my current Grand Marquis , a 2000 with 128K miles for $4400 and the same color. Mileage now stands at 280K. Now you know how long a Panther car can last
Time and time I hear these awesome stories! Thanks for sharing, these testimonies shines light on the panther cars and their reliability…I need a car with over 400k or 500k miles on the channel..
Ford got rid of this car because of the government mpg mandates, and Americas love of the F150. When I start seeing suv's get better mileage ( which they don't ) then I'll say Ford did the right thing. As of now I think it was a mistake. @@LoveWhatYouDrive
Him & the wife not eating in the car is something I should probably try to inherit 😂 breakfast sandwich crumbs all over the seats and floor. Beautiful Aero - crazy he’s had it all this time and not much rust & completely stock
lol I have two kids and they have no mercy when riding in my Merc in the back 🤦🏻♂️ comes with the territory! But Jim and his wife definitely know how to keep it clean! Thanks for stopping by Deric!
I have a 1994 with this blue and blue interior and I absolutely love it. It’s my second one but I couldn’t help but notice that this car looks like it could use a good coolant flush the coolant overflow looked almost black I just did a full fluid flush and my car had just about 400,000
@@LoveWhatYouDrive Your welcome, mine is a tan 1996 LS with a red (I believe it's red at least, could be white, I'd have to look again) pinstripe, all available factory options, 63,000 original miles, no rust, and everything works, it needs a little tlc because it has a few elder scratches, but nothing that isn't easily fixable.
YO, Love !! That's a really clean ride, and it's pretty much the same as the famous 95 MERC, 'cept mine is White, and the Front Door Panels are different. That fellow trusts his mechanic -- but I wouldn't. Crusty, Rusted Battery Terminals = YIKES !! No honest, knowledgable mechanic would recommend 2,500-mile Oil Change Intervals -- it's all about POLLUTION, you know !?? I replaced those heavy Steel Wheels and the heavy Hub Caps with a set of Alloy (made in Italy) Wheels that were fitted on some '91 - '93 Panthers. Mine came from a '92 Crown Vic. Saved about six (6) pounds per wheel. Mine has 181,000 miles -- still gets as-new fuel mileage and peak performance, thanks to a combination of OEM and AfterMarket parts. Of course, restoration and/or modification requires lots of LABOR, but dedicated Car Guys and Wrenchers like me can always do it themselves. It was fun, and I learned ALL about my desert/mountain cruiser. Hey Chuck thanks for adding your advice, it’s always a pleasure to hear some advice from old timers who have been in the game longer! I’m sure Jim will be reading these comments. I remember running into your white mercury and the pictures of it on some of the form when I was learning about the panther platforms.
Beautiful car. My mom had one just like it except it was a 96. And hers was the exact same color as yours. Wish they still made these cars. They are by far the most dependable on the road and long lasting. We also had a 2000 model grand Marquis. Both, which was passed down to us from my grandmother, which she has today still a 2009 grand marquee
Hey Bart, nice to see you here again! Thanks for the support! The car is really nice condition, and Jim and his wife are very nice to let me do this with them!
ask the man who ones one... I want my 96 LS with the digital dash I bought it in 97 with 17,000 miles on it...I added factory dual exhaust to it from the Mercury dealer I bought it from... sold it in 2007 with 133,000 miles on it...
1600+tax and title fees. Clear coat is is tough shape but body is great, awesome platform to restore and get another 200k of easy driving I was thinking about painting silver or something but this color combo is so unique!
My 06 has 113k right now, what did you have to money in? Something went out or just maintenance? 186k is not bad at all…just wondering for future reference
@LoveWhatYouDrive they had plastic intake cross over and the thermostat house cracked while driving, had to replace it, did it myself, while that was off I did new valve cover gaskets. The AC went out, so I replaced the AC compressor. Normal maintenance otherwise, brakes, tires, oil, coolant flush. Things I have on my list are new radiator, shocks and alternater.
Yes you’re right. I remembered after rewatching the video, he said the color name is “willow green” and depending on how the light hits it it looks blue or green. It then they repainted it and that switched things up a little tires the blue more. But in person it looks kind of like a teal color in the light. Very beautiful nonetheless.
we need to cherish and protect these amazing old souls. the next generation of old people is going to be terrible
Such a sweet guy. God bless him. and beautiful Grand Marquis.
🙏🏼 thanks for stopping by! Jim and his wife are good people.

Probably the best Mercury’s ever built ,the Panther body Grand Marquis. 😊
This one definitely can hold its own to back that statement, very clean!
I own a 2003 gs park lane with 40000 miles and I love it
That's a gem, adore the colour.
What an immaculate car. I love the interior color.
I love Aeros. They just look so sleek.
I agree
Incredible
I lost my center cap as well :( TWICE!! HPP Wheels here I come!
Seems to be very common
Same, rear passenger side.
Wow, I wish my 2004 was this clean.

I will pass on the message, maybe Jim if you are in the comments section you can reply. I know Jim watched it, he told me he did.

I had the same problem with my hubcaps,i end up getting Velcro and stick them on
That’s great idea, I probably would’ve used zip ties

And it has the digital dash :))

That low mileage for a 28 yr old car. I graduated HS in 1995

I keep a car til it just ain't fit to drive.
Same with me…I may have attachment issues but I’ll drive it til the wheels fall off!
