Hello! I am wondering what is the best way to clean the cedar before adding to the water? I want to be traditional and am worried about doing it wrong. I have gathered the cedar in the traditional way but when searching for if it should be cleaned first I can't find anything. I've googled and most traditional instructions seem to not include this step, so I wasn't sure if I even should? Thank you so much for any guidance you can provide.
Thanks for your question. I personally just toss it in the pot right from the tree. BUT you care more than welcome to simply rinse the cedar in water, then put it in the pot. :)
I know you can use Cederwood for Smudging i will have to try the tea if you are wanting the medicinal the full value need to boil water first put whatever tea you like put into boiling water put lid on and let set till no steam escape because the oil will escape through the steam . I'm into essential oils thats how you get the medicine is through the steam distillation plus you can get other types of benefits from water soluble . Enjoy !!! By the way i love tea's
