  • Purple heart lane was so called due to the number of casualties incurred while taking it. Five days after D-day, during nearly three days the 3rd battalion 502nd, 101st Div led by Lt Col Robert Cole strove to enter Carentan along the N13.

    Fantastic video, 2 mounth ago i was there In Carentan and I've seen all these places of the paratroopers......great memories!!
