She's a professional makeup artist, I'm sure she knows that black on the waterline closes the eye. This tutorial wasnt about making the eye look bigger though, it was about creating the smokey eye look on someone with small eyes.
What if someone has a small eye, like Nicky here, and a small amount of lid space? What are some helpful tips that would help me apply eyeshadow to that type of lid?
Another fabulous tutorial. Thank you! Love this look. I've had MAC tan pigment in my color collection for ages & have never been too sure how to use it. This is perfect.
Her model doesn't have really small eyes to begin with. But once she lines the waterline... That definitely makes them smaller. It's a shame, this tutorial just wouldn't suit most people with SMALL eyes.
You both always pick the most appropriate celebrity inspiration for your models. And I love that you have showed people that small eye can line the water line and get away with it. So many people say not too line small eyes with black, but I think it looked sultry and great on Nicki.
@stephanie1537 you can layer primers, that's what I do. I use urban decay primer potion and then layer a Mac paint pot on top. You can also get UDPP in sin which is a lovely champagne colour. I've heard that nars pro prime is a really good primer for oily eyelids too.
Nic, I have been watching you and Sam for a few years now and I am always in awe of your talent. I don't know why, maybe it's me seeing things differently, but in this video it really sunk in how masterful you are. You are amazing with color matching and gradients. A really lovely look. Thank you.
Love the look, it's really beautiful! a work of art! :) I have small eyes, and I've noticed if I use black eyeliner with matte colors on the lid, it makes my eyes much smaller, but if I use colors that have reflexion or a metallic shine, it instantly opens them up much more. And, folks, know how to use your mascara and really work it because with mascara and the right technique it makes all the differance in the world no matter what kind of make up you do.
I wear Nars Siberia, too. I purchased Illamasqua's Cream Pigment in Hollow after seing their recommendation on the Pixiwoo blog and have been loving it! The only contour I've found light enough for me and without an orange cast.
I have the same facial structure too! I would love to see a tutorial. I avoid dark shadows on the lower last line and always use a bit of illuminating concealer in the sunken-in area, but I would love to see if there's other techniques to try!
Amazing! Although I love watching u and Sam, it's been a pleasure to watch u two apply makeup on models recently. I've learned a lot, and it's nice to see how u ladies work! Thanks xox
WAUW, indeed BEAUTIFUL love it, love it. I have small eyes and also have very dark under eye circle. I wonder with this 2 problems, if we can really get away with all black eyeshadow smokey eye. Is it possible?
I enjoy sooo much when you do make-up on there people, it is so interesting how you apply different techniques in different types of eyes and face shapes, and so on. I just love it! Thank you :D
very nice smokey eyes!! amazing how the eyes just became more sultry and bigger!!! Nic, just one question though -- how do you do your ballerina bun?? thanks!
I love this, her skin looks absolutely flawless! My eyes are fairly round like nicky's so I'm always scared of filling the entire inner eye with eyeliner but it looks great! Defiantly going to try this!
Looks absolutely stunning! I'm going to try this for the Christmas party I'm attending this Saturday - will have to alter it slightly as I am super pale with dark hair, but hopefully it will turn out okay :)
Hi @Pixiwoo ladies! Wondering if you could list a proper shade comparison for Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation vs. MAC shades (and other popular brands)?? Perhaps on your blog? I have been wanting to try out Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation and convinced myself (after much research), but do not have anywhere to actually swatch the Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation in person and have only seen guessed or incomplete shades comparisons... p.s. Y'all are always fabulous Sam & Nic - love your work!
I don't think people are understanding, the point is to make the eyes look wider not rounder. I can understand this because I have smaller/close set eyes and it really helps to elongate them. Also when you put dark shadow on the top and bottom it actually produces a widening effect.
Hi Sam and Nic!I absolutely love your channel. I have a question Sometimes, when I work on a blonde model with very light lashes, I find it really hard to color the roots of those lashes and it takes me a lot of time...any tips?
What I loved about this look is the lips without gloss. They looked so natural! It's not always necessary to put on gloss. I think her eye makeup is gorgeous and the overall transformation is quite lovely!
I loved this video, her coloring is so very close to mine. I hope you have her back again for more tutorials :) I did have one question though...I was curious as to why you chose to line the waterline instead of the lashline for small eyes? It looks lovely, but I would have thought the lashline would have been used to make her eyes appear larger. Thanks again!
hi! I so love you ladies work,so beautiful! I'm just wondering if there's ever a chance you could give some tips for someone who has bells palsy? I've suffered the condition 19 years, and I'm too embarrassed to wear makeup and draw attention to the unevenness of my face. thank you,you ladies seem so nice which is why I feel comfortable enough to share my story and ask for tips. thank you,Kat.
MORE of THIS! This is the best way to show the transformational power of makeup- by taking an average face and turning it into a stunner just by the artful application of cosmetics! This is the best way to learn "tricks" of makeup to enhance plain faces. To be honest I have seen enough of you and Sam as the models. You look gorgeous WITHOUT makeup, we need to learn how to use makeup to make average faces look gorgeous too! Surely you could find willing models. I love PIXIWOO!
Nic, I love that you've mainly used browns. Most people are too slap happy with the black and use dark black right across the eye lid making the eyes look smaller. I try to explain to my friends that this makes their eyes smaller but they still do it.
The black eyeliner on the waterline really brought out the color of her eyes! So unique and gorgeous! Beautiful face shape and bone structure and overall a really chic look (:
She's a professional makeup artist, I'm sure she knows that black on the waterline closes the eye. This tutorial wasnt about making the eye look bigger though, it was about creating the smokey eye look on someone with small eyes.
Yeah we are trying to get it better each video. xx
So beautiful. I loved the choral-pink cream eyeshadow with mulch. Cannot wait to try. Have to get a pot of that color...
Thank you so much! Huge help for me! Beautiful job as well.
Thanks Taylor.x
I LOVE LOVE LOVE using that brush to apply everything from primers to foundation to blush. THANK YOU, Sam for creating it!
What if someone has a small eye, like Nicky here, and a small amount of lid space? What are some helpful tips that would help me apply eyeshadow to that type of lid?
I Love the before and After photos! The Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation has such wonderful coverage! I'm going to try this one for sure! Thanks Nic!
I just don't agree with the eyeliner on the water line. I think it makes her eyes look smaller. Compare @ 7:18
Another fabulous tutorial. Thank you! Love this look. I've had MAC tan pigment in my color collection for ages & have never been too sure how to use it. This is perfect.

This is one of the most amazing transformations! Great video - admire how quick you can work on clients..
Here eyes look normal sized to me.
Such a transformation WOW WOW WOW......she's got absolutely stunning eyes when you've made them up! Beautiful work.
i have 200x smaller eyes than this person.
Wow what a difference! Gorgeous and she has such beautiful glowing skin
You did a great job..just alil surprised you used black eyeliner and then called this video for small eyes..she does look great tho
Wow she looks absolutely stunning! The skill you guys hold just amazes me. You are true artists.
im i the only one that thinks she looks like penny from the big bang theory ????!!!???
probably
Absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for using models with different eye and face shapes it really helps.
Never EVER put makeup under the eye if you have small eyes
Yeah it looks really weird.
The transformation for her eyes is incredible! love it!
She looks a bit like Ellie Goulding
Loved this. Illamasqua skin base is the most beautiful foundation. Never ceases to amaze me what great coverage and finish it gives! xoxo
I say she looks like Kaley/ Penny Big Bang Theory
Stop lying to people
@@aikaterineillt9876 Who and/ or what are you talking about?
Absolutely amazing. What a wonderful makeup artist you are! Congratulations!
big downvote ! You miss pixiwoo made her eyes look smaller. Me as a small-eyed person did not like the ending result.
She did! I really noticed after you said that.
Her eyes def looked bigger and more pronounced at the end. Your "small eyes" are hindering your eyesight.
+Linda Suarez you are the hater everyone talk about. YOU make the nternet a shit place, by attacking on people.
I didn't attack you...calm down lol
The shape of the eyeliner and shadow made her eyes look longer, and thus, bigger. Maybe not really open, but that's not what this tutorial was for.
Gosh she looks absolutely stunning at the end! Glowing!
she is so cute ,but why is she sad ?
Probably because she is basically being insulted every-time the makeup artist mentions her small eyes ..and her tan
You both always pick the most appropriate celebrity inspiration for your models. And I love that you have showed people that small eye can line the water line and get away with it. So many people say not too line small eyes with black, but I think it looked sultry and great on Nicki.
Wow, this is absolutely gorgeous! I love a soft smokey/bedroom eye.
very interesting tutorial, the small eye and making it elongated! simply amazing nic!

Wow, Nicki is really pretty! I love watching you makeup others, Nic, the way you approach them is so delicate! Hope you are feeling well!
What a transformation, thanks for posting the list of products too!!

Looks fab, great colour choices for her skin colouring
That's gorgeous! Nic, would you please show us how you put your hair up? Thank you! x
you don't know how long i've been looking for a smokey eye tutorial for small eyes! thank you so much!
I agree. I loved the final look. I just would have left out the black liner on the waterline.
Absolutely stunning, by far the best tutorial, amazing!
I have the same facial structure too! I would love to see a tutorial. I avoid dark shadows on the lower last line and always use a bit of illuminating concealer in the sunken-in area, but I would love to see if there's other techniques to try!
What an amazing transformation!!! Just amazing Nic!
Amazing! Although I love watching u and Sam, it's been a pleasure to watch u two apply makeup on models recently. I've learned a lot, and it's nice to see how u ladies work! Thanks xox

Wow... i love how you did the smokey part on the top lids.
she really is beautiful and this is a beautiful makeup! love it!
WAUW, indeed BEAUTIFUL love it, love it. I have small eyes and also have very dark under eye circle. I wonder with this 2 problems, if we can really get away with all black eyeshadow smokey eye. Is it possible?
This is what i love about the art of makeup. you can realy transform into a whole other person. What an amazing look! l
Wow, what a transformation! You're very talented Nic!

You guys are magicians, alchemists of the make-up world. Love it!
I think it looks really lovely! I love her eyes and Nicki is so beautiful. you did a good job,
I think your best videos are the ones where you guys do work on other people. Sooo interesting and it shows your versatility. Very nice work!
Amazeballs!! She looked simply stunning!
Looks absolutely stunning! I'm going to try this for the Christmas party I'm attending this Saturday - will have to alter it slightly as I am super pale with dark hair, but hopefully it will turn out okay :)

Absolutely love it .... You are a true artist Nic.
Wow!!!! What a transformation!!!! Great job!!!!
Excellent work. Its like an artist working on a canvas. Thats what your approach feels like.
just bought my second real techniques brush! building up the collection slowly but surely!
I don't think people are understanding, the point is to make the eyes look wider not rounder. I can understand this because I have smaller/close set eyes and it really helps to elongate them. Also when you put dark shadow on the top and bottom it actually produces a widening effect.
@foreverachild..yes! She look so much like ellie....beautiful tutorial!
You look like an artist :) The way you hold your hands and apply the makeup is so chic! Like a painter :D
The foundation looks so healthy and glowing on Nicki's skin!
really precise ,and final look is perfect.!

Something I'm curious about; do you prefer doing tutorials on yourself or on a model?
Very nice transformation. Awesome look on her.
Beautiful! What should you do if you have small eyes & they're far apart?
I love this look! I hope you do more tutorials for small eyes
she is so beautiful the makeup looks amazing on u nicki and great job nic
The before and after is amazing!! Pretty girl!
