It's so refreshing to see a "beauty guru" on UA-cam who doesn't use tons of heavy make up ( contour, highlight, false lashes) in all their tutorials. Your tutorials are always seem so much more professional :)
You can easily tell the difference between a makeup artist and a "UA-cam beauty guru" . Lisa doesn't over do it with clown contour or spider false lashes. She looks so beautiful and sophisticated
Lo Lo I agree, but that probably also has to do with age and experience. thesedays it is much more acceptible/common to run around with a full face of intense makeup.
Absolutely agree with you. I'm so scared of those beauty-gurus on UA-cam who make all these bright vulgar "everyday" or smokey make-up. Looks like a pornstar make up with all these false lashes, precise eyebrows, lined with pomade, bronzed face and a tone of foundation/concealer/powder. It looks so fake and clowny. Artists like Lisa make you look like you even didn't try hard with your make up, like you woke up in the morning so fresh, nice and sexy, even if it is a smokey-eye look. I really-really love Lisa's looks! Favourite beauty-guru!
Laura Kasaic Thank you. :) And especially it sounds so ridiculous when they do those make-up looks and say that it is "natural dewy look". Oh yeah... :) It is so natural when the sturcture of your skin is covered with primer, concealer, foundaton, powder and again concealer. And plus, to make your skin look "healthier" and "fresh" just add blush, bronzer or sculptor powder or you can mix them together, and, of course, highlighter! To give your skin those beautful halo. :-D
Belle Gorj totally agree! I'm not a make up artist, I like wearing make up to make me feel pulled together during the day, and for that you don't need to cake up on foundation and concealer and powder etc. Even for clubbing I don't cake up on a lot of foundation and trust me, I don't have flawless skin. I'd rather let a few blemishes peek through than look as if I'm wearing a mask. Definitely follow whatever Lisa says for any occasion, just look for whatever of her looks that I like, and try to recreate them on me. Another good point is that you don't have to spend an hour to create a smoky eye. I love her
Aaarrgh, I will be back I promise!!!! Just been so busy with work the past three weeks. Seven cover shoots, loads of amazing fashion shoots for magazines like Italian Vogue etc AND working with celebrity clients. All great fun and I cant wait to share them all on my blog when they come out! Things are getting a little quieter next week so will record a few vids : ) X
Following the tips from this video, I did a smokey eye that doesn't make my eyes look smaller for the first time in my life. And I got a ton of compliments. I'm a blonde and this look worked. I've recreated multiple looks from this channel and they've always been a hit. She actually takes the time to explain how to moderate the looks to suit your features and this is one of the many reasons that make Lisa's channel my favorite.
I'm a darker olive complexion and don't have most of the brands/products you use but I love to recreate your looks. I watch a lot of other beauty channels but I get overwhelmed by the amount of products they use and level of expertise. You make your videos so simple and universal that all of your looks can work for everyone.
Elegance! Just pure elegance! I am tired of seeing so called makeup gurus use a pound of makeup and a THOUSAND products on their face. You're my muse. A beautiful woman inside and out. ❤️
The thing i admire you most-I think I really don't need to mention your knowledge and skills- is that you, beside being so famous make up artist and having a lot of your own, payed, work to do, you always have the time to make videos and for that I'm more than grateful!!! You are a true inspiration, not just regarding your work but also being such a wonderful, modest and down to earth person. Thank You from the bottom of my heart. Love, Dora
Very helpful tips, ty. Of all the smokey eyes I've watched on UA-cam, yours does look the most softest, while with the least emphasis on upper eyelid- but I love it, because I was able to see how sensual and romantic it can look.
Thank you, thank you for advertising less is more! I'm grossed out by how much product UA-cam beauty gurus cake on; looks great on camera and at night. But your makeup is fresh and flawless!
I'm new to Lisa's videos and have been binging them all day. I don't need to watch any other youtuber ever. This is the most beautiful smoky eye I've seen, and I watch a LOT of these. I'm so hooked!
Such a wonderful teacher and a Joy to listen to & watch, while alone at home in this horrific time. So calming and soothing to watch! I love this World makeup expert. Beauty, perfection!
Wonderful techniques for Day or Night, and easy-peasy! Give it a try! I shared this with a friend, and she looked Great! Thank you, Lisa-the Best!!! 🌹🌹🌹 Your Friend in Kansas City, Tom!
Amy B. I happen to think that Monica Bellucci is one of the most beautiful wowen on earth, but to say that someone is cheap just because another person dared to compare her to Monica is just rude, and is not even Lisa making that claim, so why even say it? I think that you're an intelligent human being and you're missing the point on purpose. More to the point this channel is about makeup so why leave a comment like that? I doubt that Lisa has the time or the incliantion to read all the comments but it makes me sad that someone would leave such a comment. Imagine someone would write that about you, you would be offended, wouldn't you? Let's be nice to each other, that's all I'm saying. Peace!
You are such an inspiration in a world overloaded with all of these "theatrical " makeup. And you have so many things to teach... just love to end my day looking at your videos, they are valuable and full of precious information! And on top of it all you teach the persons that follow you to just be their selves but in a better form! Hands down.
I love this tutorial! Showed it to my daughter and she loved it too and looked awesome when she did her eyes following this, much better than when she usually does them...so much so that she was loathed to take her make-up off at bedtime because it was so pretty!
Im always left speechless by Lisas makeup looks, they're so masterful and so special!! The way that Lisa does makeup is second to none, she has truly mastered the artistry... WOW... A once in a lifetime talent!! xxx
Lovely...always lovely. Your videos and tutorials give me the courage and confidence to try looks I would never have dreamed of wearing. You've seriously changed the way I look...for the better! Thank you so very much.
I was 13 when I found this channel,is 2018 and I'm here to do this look tonight. ♥ thank you for all this lessons and inspirations ♥ you're very important, even to people you don't know.
Hi Lisa, I'm 38 and began wearing make up just a couple of months ago. I've been looking for tutorials on UA-cam and I have to say yours are the best I've found so far. You are amazing! And you have such wonderful big bright eyes! I love them! I'm trying to mimic you but my results are nothing comparable to yours -_- But I'll keep on watching your videos and trying, maybe one day... ;)
You're so chic and delicate. For me, you're the true definition of a real classic woman. You're such a perfect inspiration. Thank you. (I'm a new subscriber and I think this, everytime I watch a video on your channel. I had to say it at least once in the comments)
I'm a novice at make-up, never really touched any eye make-up other than a liquid eyeliner/mascara but I have always envied the brown smokey look. This is the first tutorial that doesn't scare me off and got me excited to try, thank you for the beautiful tutorial!
It's quite funny how those other "not so pro" makeup gurus wear a crap load of makeup and still look pretty but Lisa just blended in a light layer of makeup and look much more sophisticated than them. Well she is an expert but anyone can wear makeup as much as they want as long as they still look human. hahaha XD
+Gayle Lumanog OMFG your "still look human" made my day ! i think so. if i;m not mistaken, i only need 2 colours of eyeshadow (taupe+dark grey) to have those prefect smokey eyes. it's so time-saving, but looks gorgeous as hell. wow
Lisa, I love your videos and often watch them to relax before bed, and I realised, you are the make up, UA-cam equivalent of the Joy of Painting! Thank you xx
You're honestly beautiful naturally so no matter what look you wear you will always look great! This look is so elegant ,thanks for sharing it with us!
Your eyes are gorgeous! Especially with the brown color you mixed in with the gray eye shadow, it really makes your eye color look bright and almost metallic.
sfex9 Right? She has that same effortless beauty that people like Keira Knightley have where they look like they're from the Victorian era and somehow time-travelled to modern day.
wow so gorgeous! I love watching your tutorials because you make it seem so effortless without emphasis on the types of brushes or brands and it inspires me to try stuff out.
I wore this look when I went out last night, and I got so many compliments! Thank you Lisa! I normally go a bit too heavy with the black eyeshadow, but this was subtle yet still smokey - will now be my every night out look :) xxx
Fantastic tutorial. I especially love the more dramatic look with the red lipstick at the end. You are so informative, and so beautiful! I have learned so much from you. Thank you for taking the time to help us!
I love how messy this Smokey eye is. I find that professional makeup artists make eye makeup look so effortless and "lived in" while still making the client look polished, instead of perfect lines and cut creases that I see women apply on themselves. The effortless look is what attracts people, imo, not the overly dramatic, 5 color eye shadow, technique-driven look. Btw, you look like a mash up of Monica Bellucci and Christa Miller, lol.
I love this look. I've always had trouble with smokey eyes and I realize now I've not been blending enough. other tutorials tend to dump a lot of colors and this uses just two. simple but perfect!
Hi Lisa, your tutorial is really helpful, it's not only applicable on western faces, i tried the smoky eyes and it's also nice for Asian like me, you are my best make up teacher now. Love you!
hands down the best smokey eye tutorial i have ever seen...finally it is starting to make sense, and that too with just 3 products...wow....all the other makeup UA-camrs should just retire now....please please do a bronze/brown smokey eye tutorial....and if u can pls try and use the Rimmel ScandalEyes sticks, I'd love to know how to use those. Thanks.
I WISH I WAS AS CALM AS YOU WHEN DOING THIS.....Once the powder hits my eye..EVEN IF I TAP THE POWDER OFF and it lands on my cheeks IT IS HARD NOT TURNING INTO THE HULK! ...maybe im taking this cosmetics thing too seriously...eh
Try & remember that it's only makeup, it's not life threatening & you can always remove mistakes. In the big scheme of things, if the worst thing that happens to you is eyeshadow fallout, COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS :)
this look is sooooo gorgeous!! i love this, i have SUCH a hard time with a smokey eye application and i end up looking like a $2 hooker and having to wash it all off :( i will be trying this next time im going out :) thank you, lisa, youre absolutely amazing, xoxo- Neo
I am 40 and just started wearing make up now... Still not everyday, still learning and figuring out what to buy... Still don't know how to do the eyeliner...
What a beautiful look! I have adapted it a little to what I look best in, used the same grey and a darker, chestnut brown to create a slightly more grungy daytime look. I wore it and immediately got compliments. It is also a nice change from my usual thick cat liner. I thought I could not live without it, but it turns out I can! This is definitely going to be my go--to look for this spring and summer!
okay it is official it has been years since if first watched this and just days since watching one of Lisa's current videos and woman does NOT age - she is living right or something but she looks exactly the same - young, fresh and beautiful!
Amy B. While I think Natalie Portman is one of the most beautiful women in the world, it is absurd that you would call Lisa Eldridge "very ugly". You're smoking crack lady. Lisa has a beautiful face, as well as voice and also mannerisms.
Amy B. I’ve seen you comment something awful on another compliment of Lisa. Come on, get a life. Is trashing another women in the comment section of a UA-cam video really the only way you can build your self esteem?
6 years later and this is still one of the best tutorials I have seen on the smokey eye. Fantastic
7 years later and yet the same
Seriously one of the most achievable, wearable smokey eye tutorials I've seen.
This look is so Chanel. Chic but also sultry. J'adore.
J'adore is Christian Dior
@@adhishreetrivedy6718 J’adore is French for «I like» so she probably just ment that she liked the makeup
It's so refreshing to see a "beauty guru" on UA-cam who doesn't use tons of heavy make up ( contour, highlight, false lashes) in all their tutorials. Your tutorials are always seem so much more professional :)
+Loopy Lulu That's probably because Lisa Eldridge is a professional makeup artist, not a "UA-cam beauty guru"
totally agree her makeups are so soft it looks that you have born this way.
You look so much like Keira Knightley in Pirates of the Caribbean with this eye look. Stunning.
Actually it was Ve Neil and she didn't put ANY makeup on Keira. She said she just pinched her cheeks to give her a natural blush.
She kinda reminds me of Caitlyn Jenner❤️
I also think that she looks kinda like Monica Bellucci
You can easily tell the difference between a makeup artist and a "UA-cam beauty guru" . Lisa doesn't over do it with clown contour or spider false lashes. She looks so beautiful and sophisticated
Lo Lo I agree, but that probably also has to do with age and experience. thesedays it is much more acceptible/common to run around with a full face of intense makeup.
idk if you meant intense as in "too much amount" or as in intense colours (?)
She's English darling. Quietly cool. No other nationality can do that!!!
le
Glad somebody sait this!!this one is pretty decent and classic
Just noticed, professional make-up artist keep their make-up simple and dont use too much product unlike those of less experienced.
Absolutely agree with you. I'm so scared of those beauty-gurus on UA-cam who make all these bright vulgar "everyday" or smokey make-up. I love that you demonstrate how diverse makeup can be! I feel like all I see from other youtubers is the same makeup over and over again.
You are, hands down, the best makeup guru on UA-cam.
I love the simplicity and clean beauty. Classic is underappreciated these days, especially in the U.S.

I like listening to your classy English accent. Reminds me of clients calling my line at work. :)
Such a good tutorial! Her eyes are sparkling, they're so beautiful!
This was the best tutorial of a smokey eye I've ever watched, definitely subscribing
I'm new to Lisa's videos and have been binging them all day. I don't need to watch any other youtuber ever. This is the most beautiful smoky eye I've seen, and I watch a LOT of these. I'm so hooked!

I Love how you're always enhancing the best features of the face instead of wearing a lot of makeup. Thank you!!! This is what I was looking for.
I was 100% sure you had foundation on at the beginning!
Best smokey eye that i’ve ever seen! Now the challenge is to recreate it on myself
Love your tutorials ! Thank you Lisa, I will use this technique for a first date, evening outing :)
Huge fan. A true Artist. This is how you do make-up without altering your true beauty.
You're so chic and delicate. For me, you're the true definition of a real classic woman. You're such a perfect inspiration. Thank you. (I'm a new subscriber and I think this, everytime I watch a video on your channel. I had to say it at least once in the comments)

True artist right here. So beautiful and graceful.
+Gayle Lumanog OMFG your "still look human" made my day !

I'm using two eyeshadows
You're honestly beautiful naturally so no matter what look you wear you will always look great! This look is so elegant ,thanks for sharing it with us!

...some of these so called utube makeup artists need to take several seats...
Your eyes are gorgeous! Especially with the brown color you mixed in with the gray eye shadow, it really makes your eye color look bright and almost metallic.
this make up looks so effortless
BEAUTIFUL and TALENTUEUSE Lisa Eldridge !!
u can just see the quality level of her makeup application skills: -3
Finally learned how to do a smokey eye. Still the best tutorial (and MUA) out there. Thank you Lisa!
it reminds me so much of '00 keira knightley, when the first pirates of the Caribbean came out
sfex9 Right? She has that same effortless beauty that people like Keira Knightley have where they look like they're from the Victorian era and somehow time-travelled to modern day.
wow so gorgeous! I love watching your tutorials because you make it seem so effortless without emphasis on the types of brushes or brands and it inspires me to try stuff out.
I very much liked your tip at the end: wear it however you want
I wore this look when I went out last night, and I got so many compliments! Thank you Lisa! I normally go a bit too heavy with the black eyeshadow, but this was subtle yet still smokey - will now be my every night out look :) xxx
Very sultry with the red lipstick Lisa. Could you do a soft purple and taupe smokey eye for us? I think those 2 colours would flatter anybody aswell.
Fantastic tutorial. I especially love the more dramatic look with the red lipstick at the end. You are so informative, and so beautiful! I have learned so much from you. Thank you for taking the time to help us!

Btw, you look like a mash up of Monica Bellucci and Christa Miller, lol.
Your videos are my zen viewing for each day. Always inspiring, relaxing, and amazing results. Thank you Lisa.
Love you!
This is the only damn smokey eye tutorial that i could find that actually made sense
I think this is my favourite look EVER!! So flawless and effortless..!!! Love it!
hands down the best smokey eye tutorial i have ever seen...finally it is starting to make sense, and that too with just 3 products...wow....all the other makeup UA-camrs should just retire now....please please do a bronze/brown smokey eye tutorial....and if u can pls try and use the Rimmel ScandalEyes sticks, I'd love to know how to use those. Thanks.
I don't know how you do it but Iam amazed every single time. Seven minutes of utter brilliance. X
Ok, how is this video 9 years old and I'm still searching for it regularly? 🔥😻
I could listen to her talk all day - she is so beautiful and I love every one of her videos
Aussie .Donna
She was clearly joking. Get yourself a sense of humour.
I love your tutorials. You keep things simple and very doable. Thanks
this look is sooooo gorgeous!! i love this, i have SUCH a hard time with a smokey eye application and i end up looking like a $2 hooker and having to wash it all off :( i will be trying this next time im going out :) thank you, lisa, youre absolutely amazing, xoxo- Neo
You are the queen of effortless makeup artistry. 😍❤️
Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks she's identical to Natalie Portman
haha nope!! she really does
Not even in a hundred years!
I thought so too
Kylie Minongue? I didnt think about it but yes, I think you are right. I love the smokey eye make up, it looks just wonderful. regards
I am 40 and just started wearing make up now... Still not everyday, still learning and figuring out what to buy... Still don't know how to do the eyeliner...
I love this classic look! Gorgeous!
A slightly grungey smokey eye will always be my favorite makeup look. I can't stand flawless Instagram makeup.
U look like keira nightley with this look ♥
I love everything about this. I tend to stay away from the smokey eye look, but I can't wait to try this!
So nice to see a make up tutorial from a girl with a sweet and feminine persona.
You truly are a makeup artist. This look is gorgeous.
Well, I ended up look like a panda
Lol me too
😱🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Less product on the brushes girls
okay it is official it has been years since if first watched this and just days since watching one of Lisa's current videos and woman does NOT age - she is living right or something but she looks exactly the same - young, fresh and beautiful!
Could you please show some different looks for tanned skinned and Indians that have a middle - not dark skin tone please.
I love your tutorials. You use the perfect colors and balance of product to make the makeup look sexy without being over the top or too much.
Loved the tutorial. Only thing (and I'm just being a baby): I prefer the term "crease line" over "socket". Lol Socket just sounds gross to me.
That's funny, it's the opposite for me :) To each their own I suppose.
A very sultry classic look and so beautifully done
She kinda looks like Alessandra Ambrosio
I loved the way you explained all the steps to do a basic smokey eye! I really love the video
You look so much like Natalie Portman.
+Vanessa Baltazar How can you insult Portman like this?! I like Lisa's tutorials but come on she's very ugly, while Portman is beautiful.
+Amy B. I think Lisa is better so clearly it's in the eye of the beholder.
Amy B. While I think Natalie Portman is one of the most beautiful women in the world, it is absurd that you would call Lisa Eldridge "very ugly". You're smoking crack lady. Lisa has a beautiful face, as well as voice and also mannerisms.
Charissa Harder She looks like a transgender.
Amy B. I’ve seen you comment something awful on another compliment of Lisa. Come on, get a life. Is trashing another women in the comment section of a UA-cam video really the only way you can build your self esteem?
How can someone dislike a Lisa Eldridge makeup tutorial?
I just look like I've been boxed in the face.
The little bit of your blouse that shows makes me think that top is so incredibly vaporous and beautiful! Love the look, by the way :)
