let's put me through some pain for a good cause. follow the cody trains IG: / itscodytrains Workout to my new song: open.spotify.c... edited by: / @tyspaid
this has become my favorite channel! I can now run two miles without stopping and every time I reach a hill I say “we ascend together” and it gets me to keep going. So thank you for creating this place for people to encourage and support one another - you’re gonna smash your Ironman! Choo choo
Cody, I’ve been disabled and using mobility aids since birth and I kind teared up when you told the story where your first thought was “I could never do that”. I feel like I think that at least 100 times a day. But something in me finally clicked. I got up and I stretched for the remainder of the video. It’s such a small thing but I CAN do that. And I’m gonna keep doing it. And idk maybe I’ll do something this year I thought I’d never be able to do-maybe not a marathon or an iron man, but maybe walking my block without stopping, or maybe riding a stationary bike for a full minute. It’s seems pitiful writing it down but I’m really actually hopeful! Anyways thanks for this channel and for being so vulnerable, and for including the emotional journey as well as physical.
You are not pitiful, you’re inspiring. No goal is too small and thanks to you I’ve been reminded of that. We all deserve kindness from ourselves. Thank you so much for sharing with us ❤
Cody you are fucking legend man this is your best era. These videos have been so inspiring to me to get fit again! It’s just great to see someone doing it and sharing the pains of it.
I love that you include the days you’re just “not feeling it” because it’s so relatable and encouraging. I started running this past September because you inspired me and I honestly feel the reason I didn’t quit on the days I felt like ass was because you were so honest and included those days in your videos also but got right back into it. I’m doing my first half this feb and I just wanna say tysm for including us in your journey!!! CHOOOO CHOOOOO 🚂❤️
Dude I’m 22 recovering from three hip surgeries and these videos have been great motivation in my recovery it’s been brutal but I’m sticking with it and coming back stronger than ever
I’m 20, just had two hip surgeries this year!! I hope you achieve all your goals man 💪 I know the mental strength it takes to overcome the pain and doubt
I feel for you and kudo's for pushing through friend! I'm 22 as well and have been dealing with knee and hip issues for years. It can feel really shitty to feel 'incapacitated' at such a young age sometimes
No surgeries here, but have had a long recovery from injury. Stick with it. Long time runner here. At the beginning it took me like an hour to walk around the block. 6 months later I ran a 35min 5k and then 4 months later 21:46! Huge improvement with the dedication, but certainly not fast or easy. Keep getting after it!
I know everyone has been saying it but I wanna add on - I just emerged from an eight month depressive episode that absolutely kicked my ass and now eight months later I'm feeling so much better and I've started looking forward to going out and moving, wether its yoga or the gym or a run, and every time I think of you and how insanely far you've gotten so like, why not me too? You're the best dude. Your impact on people stretches far and wide and I hope you know that what you do betters this world, even in silly and small ways sometimes.
people genuinely celebrating eachothers achievements without any sarcasm is so pure and amazing. I'm glad you can do that on this channel. Being real with slight irony thrown in every once in a while and not constantly is needed among creators more and you doing that here is great
this is sooo cool!! i actually work for an afterschool program so i know how much this is going to help out the specific program you're donating to! the kids are definitely going to benefit so much from it. thanks for everything that you do, cody! keep killing it!
I think in the same way that “surrounding yourself with people with the same goals” helps motivate people, your channel helps motivate so many people in the same way. Seeing you accomplish your goals (even small ones like completing all of your workouts for the week) helps me continue to show up every week for myself. You are doing great things Cody.
As a climber "we ascend together" really applies in a different way. I love how real and motivational this channel is. Hope everyone reaches new heights this week! ENERGY IS EVERTHING!
This is amazing! I was a part of After School All-Stars when I was a kid needing a place to go when my parents worked long hours. It's a great program and I'm glad you are shinning a spotlight on them.
Watching this while stretching after my workout- I’m happy you’re promoting fitness in a healthy way, it’s not about looks it’s about happiness and health
“Why do I have such a low opinion of what I’m capable of” wow I love this side of Cody because that’s one of the realest things and something I’m struggling with as well. I never could imagine doing a marathon or 5k but hearing your side maybe I should do the same. Put mind over matter
I just signed up for my first half marathon! I’ve got asthma and training has been tough but this channel has been a huge motivator! Keep it up Cody! CHOO CHOO
Consistency really is the key. I found that 2 on 1 off from the gym is best for me and my schedule. And one month in I look better than when I was struggling to workout everyday cause I just burned out. Watching your videos definitely help me get out of bed and head to the gym!
I was zooted on the couch one day and signed up for a quarter marathon, now I’m on to training for my first full one. Thanks for all the motivation man! Energy = AAAYYEER THANG🤙
THIS is the best channel EVERRRR. To be honest I didn't think I would be interested in a workout channel, EVER in my life. But your energy and attitude towards doing workouts is inspiring. I have now been working out for 3 months (the longest time frame I've ever been consistent) and I owe it to you! Thank you so much for inspiring everyone watching.
Started going to the gym last week for the first time ever. I have already noticed how much it has helped me mentally and this channel has been such a major factor as to why I started. Choo choo!
I really love when Cody is vulnerable with us like this. Makes me like him even more as a person, but is super inspirational when it comes to reaching fitness goals.
I don't think you will ever see this, but I have been wanting to start training for a triathlon for a year or so and a for a while I went to the gym and stopped and did that around three times, but I just started back up bc ENERGY IS EVERYTHING! Thank you so much for the vids and inspiration.
I've been having some self-esteem issues for a while but your channel inspired me to start exercising again. Now I run 5km almost every day and feel so much better mentally
I’ve been on a journey of sobriety and health for the last few months and watching your videos has helped so much on my path. I truly feel connected through your videos and it feels like I have someone to share this experience of bettering myself with. thank you!
In November I was assaulted and robbed. Broke my hand, pelvis, nose, eye socket, had brain bleeding... 4 surgeries in one week. 3 months bed bound. I'm doing 2 ultra marathons this May. Spartan ultra, then 50 miler. 10 more Spartans, hyrox, and a marathon through the rest of this year. Super inspiring seeing you train!
Been going to the gym every day and tbh with everything going on in my life it’s the only thing keeping me sane. Thanks for the motivation Cody. Energy is everything
I actually signed up for my first half marathon after this channel came out. Your and Nick Bare’s content have helped me get back into training for myself after I stopped playing hockey three years ago, so thank you for sharing your journey!
That look you give the camera right before you get on the bike and as your coffee is brewing is honestly the best fucking thing ever. It gives me life. Choo choo!! 😂💪🏼
I’m 19 and I recently had pretty major hip surgery. I’ve never been able to run in my life but for the first time I have hope! I’ve been doing physical therapy consistently and I’m improving. These videos have made me so excited to discover what I could achieve now❤
I’ve been working at the front desk of my gym for forever - this channel inspired me to start getting real with myself about what I want - and yesterday I officially became a certified personal trainer and started coaching at the gym! Thanks Cody for ascending with me!
I don’t think Cody realizes the beautiful safe space he has created. Watching Cody Trains is what I do to feel safe, to calm down. Not only do I feel like some kinda proud mom watching his every achievement, it has also (cliché incoming) kind of made me realize my own potential. Thank you Cody.
Theoretically this channel has 170k subscribers. If each of us donates just $1 not only would we more than triple the goal of helping kids, Cody would also have to somehow manage a 170 mile run.
I ran my first half marathon yesterday! This is my favorite channel on youtube I look forward to your videos every week. Thanks for the inspiration and for being so real :)
Tell me why I was crying during that intro monologue. Cody, thank you so much for using this platform to spread so much good in the world. I appreciate you! Your videos keep me motivated to stay on track with my health journey.
Monologue worth it! Feeling it over the past year, finished my first marathon late last year and am having that kind of conversation with myself, glad to have found this channel while I start the next chapter of it all, both starting new running goals and also starting with content creation behind it!
Watching this has been super motivating. I was an avid cyclist up until I got into a serious injury about a year ago and its been about that long since I was last on a bike. I gained a fair amount of weight and its just brought my energy and self esteem way down. In that time I found this channel and have kept up with it as a fan of your other stuff and as a cycling fan. I kept saying Ill get back on the bike and kept feeding myself all these excuses until last Thursday I said fuck it and went for it. I felt like my legs were gonna explode and my gooch was gonna bleed but it felt fucking amazing. Im gonna to try my hardest to make this a habit again and ACTUALLY get back on the bike.
I really really love this dude. I don’t think I’ve ever commented on a UA-cam video before but I love this guy and all his channels so I’m making an exception. Doing my first marathon in May as well, cheers Cody from the UK
This has been my favourite channel to watch and I'm not even into running or marathons. Out of all your channels, this one feels the most like you just expressing yourself freely without trying which ultimately makes them better. I would love to see more of what you're working on creatively like your music.
“i cant move my arms past here” *immediately cuts to him on the bike holding the phone higher than he said he could move his arms* keep up the good work cody WE ASCEND TOGETHER ENERGY IS EVERYTHING
I wasn't even thinking about working out when I started watching this channel months ago. I recently quit vaping and started to think about how I can make myself feel good and how to heal my lungs. You helped me believe in myself. This is the first time I've ever been able to stick to it and I'm getting close to being able to run every day! I set up my workouts to be hard, but successful and it has changed the way I think about fitness in my head. I feel good, I feel happy, and I feel healthy :) thanks cody for sharing your truth with us
Cody, I completely understand what you mean when you say that taking a week of rest/lighter workouts is tough. I've been lifting for the last two years and finally a few months ago I started being really consistent and making actual progress. Then I randomly started having heart problems, and while I had to get a bunch of testing done I was benched for pretty much a month. It really sucked mentally because I had gotten so far in my progress only to feel like I have to start over. My diagnosis makes it hard to do much. Now I'm at a place physically where I can do light workouts and I can't do any intense exercise but it's a start. Also, your channel got me through a lot of those gross feelings. It's just nice to know that I'm not the only one who feels so down when I can't do much exercise. :)
i just wanted to say cody, i’m a former rower and for almost 2 years i avoided cardio after i quit rowing. a month after watching your channel, i started the couch 2 5K program and I just ran almost 3 miles today. thank you for making exercise fun for me again, after 2 years of avoiding it due to trauma.
I work for an organization that does after school and evening programs for kids, and you wouldn't believe what these programs mean to some of these kids who feel like they don't have anywhere else to go once school gets out. What a great cause to support.
Started running consistently for the first time since quitting sports a couple years ago. Unfortunately in the hospital now and currently struggling to breathe after suffering from a large spontaneous pneumothorax, or a completely collapsed right lung. But I’m here after - in only a couple weeks - knocking off over a minute off my pace for a two mile run, the new longest run id ever completed when I started. It really sucks to be setback this far after just starting as I have to undergo another surgery for my left lung in a couple months. But I’m itching to get back into training and signing up for my first 5k thanks to the motivation I’ve gotten from my college roommates and this channel. Much love
Cody, I've felt in a rut too. I was training for a 10K, my first one, when you started this channel. This channel, your spirit, has got me jazzed to keep running, even though I have felt down and out mentally since that 10K. Ran this morning because of you. Gonna do it again tomorrow. Thank you, man.
I watch all of your channels and this one is for sure my favorite. Obviously I love milf manor, that’s cringe, and the button. BUT we’re all homies helping each other to do better on this channel, and that’s the best part.
Was in a bad place around the time you started this channel, and honestly it got me to go running. Feeling much better now, and signed up for my first half marathon in May. Thanks Cody, loving this channel and the community you’ve built!
I fell off for 5 days, BUT getting back into it tomorrow! The fun thing about falling off when youve done all the work, is that nothing is really lost if you get back into it!!! Love it!
I look forward to these videos more than the posts on the main channel or TMG, and this particular video affirmed that for me. Thanks for being the best Cody :)
thanks for the videos every week, they're my favorite thing to watch each week and love the humor and progress, currently on my own fitness journey down 52 lbs in the past 10 months, getting back into cycling and hopefully running soon
As always, loved the video. I am looking forward to seeing you complete your Ironman Triathlon, and I will definitely be posting when we run our first 5k in November, 2023. So excited that you started this channel! Thanks!
Cody, I haven’t been very physically healthy the last 2 years. I watched your ultra marathon video and a bunch on this channel and over the past 2 weeks i’ve been doing push ups and sit ups every day as well as some yoga. It’s not much, but you inspired me to at least do something. Thanks brother!
I gonna absolutely CRUSH a St Paddy’s 5k thanks to this channel 💪. By “Absolutely” I mean “slowly” and by “CRUSH” I mean “finish”. Energy really is Everything.
little train whistle key chains would be such cool merch!! I know most of us don't live in LA, but it would be legendary to own a Cody trains whistle and just blow it randomly :)
this has become my favorite channel! I can now run two miles without stopping and every time I reach a hill I say “we ascend together” and it gets me to keep going. So thank you for creating this place for people to encourage and support one another - you’re gonna smash your Ironman! Choo choo
Same! I couldn’t even run one mile until I was inspired by Cody’s initial race video, and now I can do a full two!!! It’s so awesome 👏
We love you Jo
Sameeee 😩💛
I’m gonna start saying that now 😂
We ascend together
Lol
Cody, I’ve been disabled and using mobility aids since birth and I kind teared up when you told the story where your first thought was “I could never do that”. I really liked what you wrote. You’re awesome!
@@lucaslb1111 thank you 🥰 kind of you to say!!
Living your own life, at your own pace isn’t pitiful. It sounds like you’ve got a strong soul 🎇🙏🏼 Thanks for sharing the motivation!
You are amazing. That made me so happy :) You go!
You are not pitiful, you’re inspiring. No goal is too small and thanks to you I’ve been reminded of that. We all deserve kindness from ourselves. Thank you so much for sharing with us ❤
The monologue and philanthropy is cool and all… but Matt’s ideas are truly inspirational.
i need the pool-aid for my bath water tbh..
I love new Cody he's like old Cody from years ago but better. His energy these last few months has been so great and as we know Energy is Everything ™

Yay for climbers watching this channel! We ascend together!
cody i have to say releasing these every monday is so helpful because i’m just so unmotivated to run every monday morning but this saves me
This is amazing! I was a part of After School All-Stars when I was a kid needing a place to go when my parents worked long hours. It's a great program and I'm glad you are shinning a spotlight on them.
making a small key-chain train whistle would be an amazIng merch drop to be honest
You’re so motivating Cody!! I’m running a 4 mile race in a few months thanks to you!
Watching this while stretching after my workout- I’m happy you’re promoting fitness in a healthy way, it’s not about looks it’s about happiness and health

Started going to the gym last week for the first time ever. I have already noticed how much it has helped me mentally and this channel has been such a major factor as to why I started. Choo choo!
Go Cody, Go! We're so grateful you're raising funds for All-Star students across the country.
Idk why the creepy serial killer Cody clips are so funny, loving this era
As a kid, after school program was a huge huge huge aid, I can’t imagine how much harder my childhood would have been without it. Love this ❤
I really love when Cody is vulnerable with us like this. Makes me like him even more as a person, but is super inspirational when it comes to reaching fitness goals.

I’ve been on a journey of sobriety and health for the last few months and watching your videos has helped so much on my path. I truly feel connected through your videos and it feels like I have someone to share this experience of bettering myself with. thank you!
This video came at a perfect time because my grandmother just called me with some terrible news.
She told me that ENERGY IS EVERYTHING
In November I was assaulted and robbed. Broke my hand, pelvis, nose, eye socket, had brain bleeding... 4 surgeries in one week. 3 months bed bound. I'm doing 2 ultra marathons this May. Spartan ultra, then 50 miler. 10 more Spartans, hyrox, and a marathon through the rest of this year. Super inspiring seeing you train!
This is such an awesome cause! Also just want to say you inspired me to start triathlon training last year. Thanks, Cody!
just finished my first workout since august. hated every second of it
can't wait to do it again
Been going to the gym every day and tbh with everything going on in my life it’s the only thing keeping me sane. Thanks for the motivation Cody. Energy is everything
Cody is such a good swimmer fr i need footage

You should live stream the whole 50 mile run. I'd watch that.

In all seriousness the ultra marathon video is what jump started my fitness journey and I can’t thank you enough man!!!
Bro that weekly water bottle is such a good idea. Portable. Informative. Tracks your water usage. I see no downsides
I wasn't even thinking about working out when I started watching this channel months ago. I recently quit vaping and started to think about how I can make myself feel good and how to heal my lungs. The train whistle seems like a genuinely great idea.
training for a half marathon because of you buddy. much appreciated! im a proud choochie
Cody,
I completely understand what you mean when you say that taking a week of rest/lighter workouts is tough. I've been lifting for the last two years and finally a few months ago I started being really consistent and making actual progress. Then I randomly started having heart problems, and while I had to get a bunch of testing done I was benched for pretty much a month. I wish Matt was in the videos more!
I love that there are clear archetypes of Cody. Blessing cody, manic cody, hype cody, energy cody
Set up my bike & trainer yesterday this channel def helps with motivation for exercising and keeping motivation for school
Honestly if you made a smaller key-chain sized whistle I would 100% rock that
loves the intern keep that boy
Started running consistently for the first time since quitting sports a couple years ago. Listened to your podcast on madhappy. Super happy you decided to share and inspire others.
this is the most wholesome channel ever, your monologue made me emotional fr. choo choo yall
How do you eat an elephant? Choo one piece at a time
Cody, I've felt in a rut too. I was training for a 10K, my first one, when you started this channel. I workout every day as a college athlete and I love watching ur videos to give me motivation before practice or a workout keep going brotha
I watch all of your channels and this one is for sure my favorite. Obviously I love milf manor, that’s cringe, and the button. BUT we’re all homies helping each other to do better on this channel, and that’s the best part.
I love watching these videos while I’m on the treadmill. Helps me not think about the fact that I’m not moving anywhere
Love it!
WHERE TF IS MATT??????????
I look forward to these videos more than the posts on the main channel or TMG, and this particular video affirmed that for me. Thanks for being the best Cody :)
Going through the same Cody bro, gonna bike from Canada to Florida Feb 26th. See you on zwift.
this is the best content. the cody trains lore is so deep and it truly feels like a community ❤️
thanks for the videos every week, they're my favorite thing to watch each week and love the humor and progress, currently on my own fitness journey down 52 lbs in the past 10 months, getting back into cycling and hopefully running soon
I signed up for my first 5k this week and you had a lot to do with that, Cody! We ascend together, let’s gooooo!
no cuz i love the choo choo wooden whistle but a smaller version to take during running.
HAHHAH Cody's doin' a 100 miler. GURANTEED! Choo Choo brah
I completely binged this channel over the weekend when I found it and I ended up signing up for my first 10K on Sunday!!!
As always, loved the video. I am looking forward to seeing you complete your Ironman Triathlon, and I will definitely be posting when we run our first 5k in November, 2023. So excited that you started this channel! Thanks!
Pool aid. Fucking killed me.
Watching this before I go swimming for the first time since high school swim team to get ready for the CrossFit season!
The running motivation device was such a genius idea even David Goggins would need that #accountabilitymirror #canthurtme
You are the man 🫡 signed up for my first marathon and have been watching you during my down time. This is awesome!
I gonna absolutely CRUSH a St Paddy’s 5k thanks to this channel 💪. By “Absolutely” I mean “slowly” and by “CRUSH” I mean “finish”. Energy really is Everything.
guys if you made a smaller size version of that train whistle on a keychain i would 1000% buy it
little train whistle key chains would be such cool merch!! I know most of us don't live in LA, but it would be legendary to own a Cody trains whistle and just blow it randomly :)
