I'm a Filipino and at some point I understand Steve's sentiment about our food. Coz some Filipinos doesn't know how to cook. We are just to respectful specifically to those who are offering us food that even if it tastes like crap we will it eat. I'm sure there's a lot of Filipinos out there that visited their family or friend and the food tasted bad but still they ate it. It's traumatizing 😅
And then they'll say "Don't be shy, you should eat many many of this" then dump more of it to your plate. That's where the horror starts That's where the pressure to eat it all, as respecting the one who cook and serve it for you

There's a food blogger out there that was talking about how Filipino food was the most underrated food and he used the clip of Steve's bit hating on Filipino food in a montage to make a point thinking he was serious.
Yeah something I like to reiterate (you can tell I don’t get invited to parties anymore) is that a lot of “traditional” foods must have been created after the Columbian exchange, which is pretty “modern” (1500s) when we talk about the way thing a have always been
That’s a lot of thai and hmong food in america. Ask people in the mountains or countryside and see if they eat those types of food that we consider thai/hmong food and they would have no idea. Some don’t even use chopsticks
As a Canadian, the best ever: Moose Roast! With fingerling potatoes and Bannock! Can't get any better ! You guys have got to try moose meat. Bison is a close second. All the Casinos in the West & Prairies serve Indigenous food and you will love it ❤
For real. There's plenty similar dishes in India. As for the guys' love for shepherd's pie... France has hachis parmentier. Brit food is going in the bin.
😂☠️ Bart, i literally was like rolling around laughing so hard when throw away Thai food! 😂😂😂😂😂 wonder what Tim would say. At the end of the day it’s all fun and games. You guys should redo this one and bring g David and Tim on.

LOL Thai & Viet foods are totally different! Bart is sooo wrong, objectively. He most likely cannot handle the spicy flavors is all. He has muscles but not in his tongue LOL! Ryan is cool for backing Thai food.
I think your taste palates are probably more similar to Viet, Korean, Japanese because of your backgrounds. As an Indian, we are used to more flavor and seasonings. So I naturally gravitate towards Thai and far away from Japanese. Thai is top 5 in the world in my opinion. Also if no one has tried Nepali food, it’s a must!
I used to work with a lot of Filipinos for a few years and pancit was the only Filipino food that I somewhat enjoy. Lumpia is basically egg rolls but 50% reduction in size. My previous boss was white and he worked in the Philippines for 4 years and after 2 months, he was so close to calling it quits and move back home because he was tired of the food and how limited in choices there were in the Philippines. So when Steve describes his experience with Filipino food, he reminds me of my previous boss lol.
your boss haven't tasted all Filipino food. if he lived in manila most food houses there cut corners and they dont serve regional cuisines, also not as fresh ingredients like in the provinces.
Bart don’t worry im with you, Thai food just doesn’t do anything for me. I think its just trendy right now. I love Chinese and Viet food the best. Japanese and Korean are ok for once in a while. bart calls himself a foodie but says Vietnamese and Thai food is similar 😭 this is his worst take yet. I'm with Joe on this one bc he actually knows the difference
Honestly as a Vietnamese I like most Southeast Asian food more than East Asian food except Filipino food. I agree with Steve though bc most Filipino food are not that great. The lechon is actually very good except for that sauce they use though. I like Filipino people the most out of any ethnicity in the world though. Most Filipino are very helpful and friendly. The most overrated food has to be Japanese food bc it tastes ok but it has small portions, way overpriced and over hyped.
@dowhatiwantc7637 not creepy just there was probably some big pivot and direction in JK. One of those big changes was closing of JKP. Miss that era of JK they've been chugging along for a long time I love it I'm thankful to be a fan.

Filipino food out of all the south east asian, Thai, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia to me is the most basic and flavor profile is predominately salty.
