Far G thank you DANGER TV for this series because as I grown up I want to be an army soldier as a job and this just helps me to know what is ahead. So thanks for making this series
The UA-cam channel didn't make this channel. It's just narrated in English. The original is on Māori television narrated in Maori
Same im thinking of RNZAF for atleast 5-10 years then the army for 3 years then ima attempt for NZSAS
this is surprisingly funny, just to hear jokes and conversations between them make it feel less tense.
Cool to see the two previous standard issue rifles still used in training @20:49. We had the M16 then Styer then back to the M16 platform with the MARS-L
Respect from the Irish military 🇮🇪.
The description is incorrect. This is NOT Sas or commando selection. This is standard Army basic reg training.
What is the charge for eating a Chinese meal?! 😂
This is democracy manifest
Remind me my day as a recruit & as a private in Singapore army in 1989 till 1991 as I serve in national service for 2 year & followed by 13 cycle year as a reservist in the army from 1992 till 2004. During late 80 & early 90 the training is very harsh a lot of raging & punishment that I had to go through but in the end is a good experience. Now it seem the training module is totally different during my time .
As a New Zealand soldier I served in Singapore 1981-1983 with 1RNZIR .Trained mostly in Malayan jungle,we lived at Dieppe Barracks .
@@terryharris1291 I know 1 rnzir based in dieppe Barrack. Now dieppe barrack house Guardsmen unit for reservist.

They're not just focusing on maori recruits they interviewed that german chick, theres a shit load of maori soldiers in the army as this video proves that, so hard to avoid maori soildiers or the maori culture in the army its all part of it

I think it's awesome how those of European ancestry also embrace the Maori culture in NZ.
the power of a treaty.
I believe if you dont wana you shouldn't have too!!
@@jamiegibling3688 i'm kinda with you, but unity is a factor, strong united - unique in the world - if it wasn't for that girlie way big Maori boys giggle, i'd be cool. :)
Some do, a lot don't. And a lot don't care to. Understand that Māori have been treated like 2nd class citizens in their own home for generations. Just 3 years ago, in Highschool. The amount of distaste and neglect other pākeha students had when someone would say "kia ora" was unsurprising.
@@kparker2430 ... what is that supposed to mean? The way māori men giggle like girls? You'd be cool with assimilating better?
And no, the power of the treaty was not to bring cultures together or to allow someone to continue to live within their own home. It was to take from one people, viewed as savages, and to give to the greedy cruel empire people are stil far too proud of. Belive it or not but Māori did not and still don't have a merry time with others who think they're better and who think they can tell us not to speak our language or follow our customs in our land.
I'm all for equality, fairness and unity. I love and respect people of any background. But some of these comments on these videos are ignorant.
Imagine coming back home from the nz army mentally fucked up and using tactics taught from them to evade the police.
Hope sean finds peace
Awesome.
Im not a racist or anything but holy smoke there's a lot of Māori folk in the Army given their only like 15% of the population in NZ
Yeah it's been that way for awhile now maori representation has been massive over history theres heaps of them bruv, alot of my family served
how can i join in nz military?age?
you can apply at 16 to 18 and need a couple ncea creddits

Can foreigners join as officer in nzdf
No
@@tedheath9018 not entirely true, I don’t known about other militaries but a lot of senior NCO’s and Officers from the British Army serve in the NZDF
I’m sure that depends on whether you’re a nz citizen or not. Otherwise, I don’t think so
@@tedheath9018 actually wrong, many commonwealth officers serve in the NZDF as well as others.
As soon as you get your full New Zealand citizenship you can join
Would love to join the nz military wouldnt have a clue how to speak maori never ecen done a haka before. The closest thing i came to it when i misplaced my car keys checked every pocket type thing

I've never seen a society where the colonizers so thoroughly adopted the customs of the people they conquered. I can't imagine how the army that defeated and occupied a peoples land went so far as to build their meeting houses and barracks in the native style, adopted their customs and language like the Hakka, and even built statues to the natives pagan god.
As I continue to watch... New Zealand Army: intense pressure and shouting, negative reinforcement-low a 5 out of 10 Esprit Decorps and willingness to sacrifice for each other due to bonding experience-10 out of 10!
that thing you refer to about the Maori cultural influence - that really is this unique Kiwi thing - the way the Maori and white NZ guys come together as warriors under the auspices of a Maori War God is 'brotherhood' and a source of national pride. As an Australian these are our closest allies, and we are, both nations dam fortunate and honored by the ANZACS. Maori ferocity and Aussie tenacity,,, well done INTAKE recruits - Proud, Respect, Honor. I salute you.
The colonisers nor the people they conquered are alive
Well you're wrong on two ends. The British did not "conquer" our people or land. They tricked, stole and legally bought some. The British Monarchy did not gain a governing body or "control" of Aotearoa until the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi. Which it in itself was full of mistranslations and was created and presented to many different tribes, with different agreements within.
The British did not conquer Māori "back then". They simply tricked us with the pen rather than fight us into submission.
As for how Māori beliefs, customs and language has been implemented in society? Mostly only of recently. The amount of disdain that so many pākeha have for even the mentioning of a Māori word is disgusting.
‘Pagan gods’………..they’re just as real as the Christian god…….ie non-existent.
Yeah the whanow

Why the hell new Zealand needs a military
Let's say WW3 happened. If nz had no military we'd be one useless, and two an easy target. It would probably end with us getting invaded. So in saying that our military gives us something to fall back on. The other reason being we send reinforcements. We deploy our soldiers to any country at war that we're affiliated with. And it also creates jobs so we can't complain.
@@mkt1037 with haka dance no one would dare to invade NZ
@@riojiro1251 won't work nowdays
In case the sheep turn on us
Why the hell do you exist?
Does New Zealand even need an army? Like, who is gonna attack them.
New Zealand has fought in over a dozen wars, given assistance to a multitude of battles and is a nation of warriors going back way before European colonization. Its in our blood to fight when we are needed
You should really do some more research about the NZ army and military in general, sounds like you could learn something.
*cough* Japan was going too during WW2

Every country and person needs to stand up for themselves what are on about?if a country's big enough they need a defence force no matter wat,no matter how small we stand up for ourselves we're little but pack a big punch 👊
Where are the human rights for everyone other than Uropean the women rights, where are religious rights, equality rights?
Are all the rights restricted to Uropean lifes and their slaves if not then please bring or help bringing laws to protect every colour, religion, religious symbols and society with in your country.
what the hell are you talking about? NZ is one of the most progressive countries in the world. Only one colour in the Army and it's Green
wow what a weak military
@Liam Green I KNOW RIGHT!!
You’re so rude NZ is a small country I’m proud of them
You should've stay in your dad's Condon😂
yet the soldiers and special forces that are produced by it are regarded as some of the top in the world? Makes sense, you clown. You're comparing a completely optional/voluntary military in a nation with only about 5 million people in it to these superpower countries that either have hundreds of millions or even billions in population size, nevermind the budget to fund such things. What do you expect?
wow a lot of butt hurt kids here, you can keep your weak women & silly foreign words. I trust my life with the US military :)
